(Minghui.org) Many Falun Gong practitioners are now exercising their legal right to sue Jiang Zemin for launching the persecution of Falun Gong and causing them great harm and tremendous suffering during the past 16 years. The momentum of this new wave of lawsuits against the former Chinese dictator is on the rise.

The Minghui website receives copies of criminal complaints against Jiang from many practitioners daily. In this report, we present a snapshot of some of the practitioners whose copies of lawsuits were received by Minghui on September 5-7, 2015.

These lawsuits are mailed to the Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate, which are required to process all criminal complaints filed by citizens, as of a recent ruling by the Supreme People's Court.

Mr. Wang Xinqing was detained nine times and his wife Ms. Hua Taofeng was detained six times. Both are physicians. Their home was ransacked six times. Their wages were suspended for years and then reduced, causing a financial loss of more than 100,000 yuan.

Ms. Li Xiuhong faced brutal torture, suffered huge financial losses, had a mental breakdown, and her family was unjustly accused. The persecution claimed the lives of her mother and grandmother.

Dr. Tian Qinling became paraplegic from the torture he suffered in a labor camp. She was denied treatment or assistance, and but was still forced to do hard labor; she was force-fed with nerve damaging drugs.

Mining engineer Mr. Zhao Bin was sentenced to a forced labor camp four times for a total of seven years. He was placed under long term surveillance, faced extortion, and was discriminated against for his belief.

Radiographer Mr. Luo Yongde was arrested six times, held in a brainwashing center twice, and sentenced to one year of forced labor. He and his wife were forced to leave home to avoid further persecution. He was dismissed from his workplace 12 years ago and has not been able to find employment since.

Key FactsMr. Wang was detained nine times and forced to pay more than 10,000 yuan. His wife Ms. Hua was detained six times, sent to labor camps twice, held in brainwashing centers twice, and had her home ransacked six times.

Ms. Hua was held in the forced labor camp for a year in 2000. She was subjected to torture, forced labor, and humiliation. Authorities tried to sent her to a forced labor camp in 2001, but rejected due to her high blood pressure.

Mr. Wang was sentenced to a year and a half of forced labor in 2002. He was subjected to forced labor and brainwashing.

Mr. Wang was held in a mental hospital twice and brainwashing center once. He was deprived of sleep, forced to watch slanderous videos against Falun Gong, and kept in solitary confinement.

The couple could not work for five years, and had their wages suspended. Their two sons lost their care, and had to go from place to place when they were also detained. The couple resumed their work in 2003, with a drop in three levels of pay grade. They have lost more than 100,000 yuan this way.

Ms. Li Xiuhong (李秀红)

Key FactsMs. Li was held in Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp for two years and four months since April 2008, where she suffered vicious torture. She was shocked with six electric batons, tied to a death bed, and severely humiliated. She was not allowed to see her family.

Guards instigated inmates to beat her and told her that “no torture is too much as long as you do those exercises.” Ms. Li was covered with bruises after the beatings. The inmates who beat her had their terms reduced.

Ms. Li was again put into a forced labor camp in June 2011, where she was punitively force-fed, severely damaging her health.

Ms. Li's mother also suffered multiple arrests and was detained despite her poor health. Under such pressure and torment, Ms. Li's mother and grandmother died within 13 days of each other in 2007.

Ms. Li lived with her second eldest sister. When she was arrested in 2008, her sister and brother-in-law were also taken away, leaving behind a nine-year-old nephew. He developed heart disease and fecal incontinence from intense fear, and was hospitalized for a month.

Ms. Li's family traveled a distance to the labor camp every month, and were directed back and forth among departments with no results to show for it. The torture she suffered and her deteriorating physical health worried them greatly. Her imprisonment caused huge financial losses and mental suffering to her family.

Ms. Tian Qingling (田庆玲)

Key FactsDr. Tian Qinling was sent to the Qianjin Labor Camp in 2012, and became paraplegic as a result of the torture she suffered there. The camp refused to release her, and continued to torture her until the country's forced labor system was dismantled in August 2013.

Dr. Tian was tortured so severely that her legs were paralyzed. The guards continued to force her to do manual labor, kept her from using a wheelchair or crutches, and prohibited others from helping her. Dr. Tian was forced to crawl to get around.

After an operation for her condition, she was immediately sent back to the labor camp. With no help, she crawled from the entrance to her first floor cell. Her incisions broke open and she bled all over the floor. She was then force-fed with nerve damaging drugs for two months.

Dr. Tian's wages, insurance, and benefits, which amounted to 14,500 yuan, were deducted before she was allowed to resume her work in May 2014.

Her parents could not bear this assault on their family and both were hospitalized for coronary heart disease and heart failure. When they visited their daughter at the labor camp, a guard pushed them down a flight of stairs, causing them severe injuries.

Mr. Zhao Bin (赵斌)

Profession: Mining EngineerHometown: Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province

Key FactsMr. Zhao was given one year of forced labor for appealing in Beijing in September 1999.

Mr. Zhao was sent to the forced labor camp a second time in December 2001 for three years, but kept another eight and a half months beyond his term. He was subjected to brutal torture. Guards pushed toothpicks under his nails. He was hung up by his arms and shocked with electric batons. He developed scabies from poor hygienic conditions in the camp, and the scars are still visible today.

He was sentenced to two year of forced labor in 2005.

Mr. Zhao was again arrested in May 2012 when he asked for the price of A4 paper. He was interrogated, tortured on the “iron chair,” and denied use of toilet facilities. From this, Mr. Zhao developed urinary incontinence. When the camp rejected him due to poor health, he was taken to a brainwashing center.

Due to unremitting harassment by 610 after his release, he left his home in 2012.

He was reported in another city, arrested in April 2014, and sent back to his home town. He was detained for four days, put under residential surveillance, and forced to pay 15,000 yuan.

His mother and mother-in-law passed away while he was detained, and he was not allowed to attend their funerals.

At his workplace, he was the most qualified candidate for the position of chief engineer, but was passed over due to his belief.

Mr. Luo Yongde (罗永德)

Key FactsMr. Luo was arrested six times, held in a brainwashing center twice, forced to leave home for three years, and sentenced to one year of forced labor.

Mr. Luo was taken to a detention center in January 2002, where he was forced to do manual labor every day. He was beaten unconscious. Since then he has experienced chronic dizziness and headaches. He was released on medical parole at the end of June 2002, after his family was forced to pay 1,000 yuan.

Mr. Luo was dismissed by his workplace in 2003.

Officers ransacked the home of Mr. Luo's relatives, where he was staying temporarily. They confiscated everything of value. Officers threatened Mr. Luo's son to reveal the whereabouts of his parents, and tortured the 22-year-old on a “Tiger Bench” for 11 days.

Mr. Luo and his wife stayed in other cities for more than three years to avoid further persecution.

Mr. Luo was sentenced to one year of forced labor in 2006, where he suffered brutal torture. He developed severe high blood pressure and Parkinson's disease in two weeks and was hospitalized. He was injected with unknown drugs, causing him to lose mobility.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
