(Minghui.org) From May 22 to June 25, 2015, the Minghui website received copies of 18,244 criminal complaints from 22,818 people against Jiang Zemin for launching the persecution of Falun Gong.
Those who press charges against the former Chinese dictator come from all walks of life. This report profiles three practitioners who filed suits: a surgeon, a judge, and a business executive.
While many people have lost their moral compass under the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) atheist rule, these three practitioners refuse to follow suit, thanks to their practice of Falun Gong – a self-cultivation system based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
They've worked hard to maintain their integrity in their professional and personal lives, even as their peers are busy seeking personal gain at any cost, often via illegal means such as taking bribes. For refusing to give up their belief in Falun Gong, which is responsible for that integrity, they've been arrested, had their homes ransacked, were fired from their jobs, or even been tortured.
They have filed lawsuits urging the Supreme People's Procuratorate to bring Jiang to justice. They hope to show the public that, when CCP agents are ordered or instigated to abuse Falun Gong practitioners who strive to be good, the persecution is accelerating the decline of morality in today's China.
Below are their stories.
General Manager Refused to Accept Illegal Commissions or Gifts
As a general manager of a state-owned enterprise, Ms. Wei Jingmin was well-known for refusing to accept gifts or illegal commissions.
Big Oriental Co. manages five companies. When Ms. Wei became the general manager of Big Oriental in 1998, only two of the five companies were barely able to function, but were debt-ridden. Under Ms. Wei’s management, however, they paid off a 1.04 million-yuan debt within a year.
When Ms. Wei began to practice Falun Gong in 1997, she stopped accepting gifts and helped her employees with financial difficulties as well as those who were unemployed--as a way to make up for the gifts she had accepted in the past.
Despite her integrity, she has been arrested and detained numerous times since the persecution began. She recently filed a criminal complaint with the Supreme Procuratorate and the Supreme Court to sue Jiang Zemin.

A Surgeon Refused to Accept Bribes
Dr. Li, an orthopedic surgeon, held himself to high ethical and moral standards and never accepted under-the-table cash or gift cards (usually proffered in "red envelopes") from patients. Instead, he even used his own savings to help his patients who could not afford to pay for treatment.
As a Falun Gong practitioner, Dr. Li followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, was sympathetic to his patients, and did not want to see their treatments delayed due to financial difficulties.
Society should hold doctors like Dr. Li in high esteem, but in China today, where Falun Gong practitioners are persecuted, Dr. Li has been sentenced to forced labor twice and to prison for four years and had his residence ransacked numerous times.
While he was incarcerated in Linzi Detention Center and Daqing Prison, Dr. Li was subjected to relentless torture: he was handcuffed behind his back, shocked with electric batons, tied to an iron chair, deprived of sleep, doused with ice-water, held in solitary confinement for long periods of time, sexually harassed, and bound in a strait jacket.
Dr. Li filed a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin on June 17, 2015, for initiating the persecution of Falun Gong. Dr. Li has requested an investigation into Jiang’s abuse of power in violating the law by persecuting law-abiding citizens for their belief.
After his arrests, Dr. Li lost his job. In his complaint, he also requests that he be reinstated in his job, be paid his salary for the past 15 years, and be compensated for the mental and physical suffering he and his family have endured.
An Honest Judge Is Fired and Persecuted
Ms. Sun Linghua used to be the chief judge of the administrative and economic sections of the Yi County Court in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province. She was fired because of her faith in Falun Gong.
Before practicing Falun Gong, Ms. Sun had numerous health problems, including lumbar spondylosis, neurasthenia, rheumatic heart disease, mastitis, colitis, etc. After practicing Falun Gong for a year, all of these ailments went away. She has not had to go to the hospital since 1996. She has saved the government a great deal of money on medical expenses.
In accordance with the moral principles explained in Falun Gong teachings, Ms. Sun never accepted bribes. She was honored with awards from the county court in both 1995 and 1996. In 1996, she was honored with the Jinzhou City Court system's highest award.
Ms. Sun was fired in 2003 and incarcerated in the notorious Masanjia Forced Labor Camp three times. She was then sentenced to seven and a half years and locked up in Dabei Prison in Shenyang City.
A lady whose case she had handled visited her in a detention center. This lady told the guards, “There are about 100 judges and court officials in this area. Ms. Sun is probably the only one who refuses to take bribes. An honest person like that should not be jailed.”
A guard helped Ms. Sun to deliver messages for her. She told Ms. Sun, “Ma'am, I admire and respect your integrity.” A former supervisor of hers watched her from outside the prison gate and cried, “Linghua, give me some time, and I’ll do my best to get you out of here.”
Ms. Sun filed a criminal complaint against Jiang on June 8, 2015.

Background
In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners over the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the 610 Office, on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
