Additional Persecution News from China – June 21, 2015 (23 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 21 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 11 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 26 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Ying Xiuzhen Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Ying Xiuzhen was arrested at home on the evening of June 2, 2015 and taken to the Yancheng City Detention Center.

She has been sentenced and taken to the Nanjing Women's Prison.

2. [Fumeng County, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

The second trial of Mr. Wu Junhe, Mr. Li Feng, and Mr. Wang Liang was held by the Fumeng County Court on April 20, 2015. Mr. Wu was sentenced to six years in prison.

Mr. Li and Mr. Wang were sentenced to three years in prison with three years' probation. Both practitioners have returned home.

3. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Lu Yuanfeng Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Mr. Lu Yuanfeng from Chaoxian Township in the Yuhong District was sentenced to three years in prison on June 16, 2015, by the Dadong District Court. Mr. Lu stated in the courtroom that he would appeal.

4. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Jiang Hanqian Detained

Mr. Jiang Hanqian, in his 60s, lives in the Wuchang District. He was arrested by campus security guards when he was distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) at Wuhan University on June 16, 2015. Luojiashan Police detained him in Qingling Detention Center in Wuchang District for 15 days.

5. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Pu Yuhua Detained

Ms. Pu Yuhua was arrested by officers from the Datong Road Police Station when she was telling people about Falun Gong on June 18, 2015. She was taken to the Hefei City Detention Center.

6. [Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Zhang Wanfen Detained

Ms. Zhang Wanfen from Hailar District was arrested by officers from the No. 4 Hailar Police Station while posting Falun Gong informational materials on June 19, 2015. She is being held in the Hailar Detention Center.

7. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Weidong and Ms. Li Wen'e Arrested

Mr. Wang Weidong and Ms. Li Wen'e were arrested on June 13, 2015.

8. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Gong Shuling Held in Shenyang Women's Prison

Ms. Gong Shuling was sentenced to four years in prison on April 14, 2015. She has endured severe abuse in the Shenyang Women's Prison in her first two months, and her family has not been allowed to visit her.

9. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhang Surong Arrested

Ms. Zhang Surong, 60, was arrested on June 18, 2015 by officers from the Hongkou District 610 Office for distributing Falun Gong informational materials in Quyang Park in the Hongkou District. The officers also ransacked her home.

10. [Huangchuan County, Henan Province] Ms. Yan Suqin Detained

Ms. Yan Suqin was arrested by Huangchuan County Domestic Security Division officers on June 18, 2015 for distributing Falun Gong informational materials in Huangchuan County. She is being held in the Xinyang City No. 1 Detention Center.

11. [Tianjin] Ms. Yang Xiuying Arrested

Ms. Yang Xiuying from Nankai District was arrested in mid-June 2015. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Hongqiao Police Department.

12. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Enyun and Her Son Mr. Li Chun Arrested

Ms. Wang Enyu from the Qilu Perochemical Corporation was reported to police and arrested when she talked to a taxi driver about the persecution of Falun Gong on May 28, 2015. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a computer and a printer. She was released the next day.

Her son Mr. Li Chun was subsequently arrested. The police ransacked his home and confiscated a computer, a printer, a DVD copier, and DVDs. Mr. Li remains in police custody.

13. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Shen Hua Arrested

Ms. Shen Hua was arrested on June 20, 2015, for telling people about Falun Gong.

14. [Zunyi City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Shen Wanhui Held in Prison

Ms. Shen Wanhui, 40, from the Laocheng Neighborhood was arrested in Kaiyang County, Guiyang City, on May 30, 2014. She was held in the Jinsha County Detention Center. She was later sentenced in the Jinsha County Court to two years in prison. The Bijie City Intermediate Court upheld the original judgment. She was taken to the Yangai Farm Women's Prison on June 17, 2015.

15. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhou Shuxiang and Her Daughter Ms. Liu Yuan Arrested

Ms. Zhou Shuxiang and her daughter Ms. Liu Yuan were arrested by officers from the Shiyan City Domestic Security Division and the Dongfeng Corporation Police Department on June 18, 2015. Police ransacked her home and confiscated a notebook computer and other personal possessions. Both practitioners are being held in a “legal education class” (brainwashing center) operated by Dongfeng Corporation.

16. [Hui County, Gansu Province] Ms. Zhou Yumei Arrested

Ms. Zhou Yumei from Luhe Village, Yongning Town, was arrested on June 20, 2015, by County Domestic Security Division and Chengguan Police Station officers for posting Falun Gong informational materials.

17. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Qinghua and Ms. Song Guiyun Arrested

Ms. Xu Qinghua, Ms. Song Guiyun, and Ms. Song's son went to the Zhalan area to raise public awareness of the persecution of Falun Gong on June 19, 2015. They were arrested and taken to the Zhalan Police Station.

18. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Fu Meixiang Detained

Ms. Fu Meixiang was arrested on the morning of June 17, 2015 for distributing Shen Yun DVDs in Xianjia New Village. She is being held in the Wangcheng County Detention Center.

19. [ Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Elderly Mr. Qi Yufu Detained

Mr. Qi Yufu, in his 70s, was arrested on June 13, 2015, by Wulong Police for telling people about Falun Gong. He is being held in the Xindi Detention Center.

20. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Shabei Police Department broke into Ms. Gu's home on the afternoon of June 18, 2015. Ms. Gu, Ms. Mao, Ms Wang Chi, and another practitioner were reading Falun Dafa books. The police arrested the four practitioners, ransacked the home, and seized over 30,000 yuan in cash.

Ms. Gu and Ms. Wang are still in custody. The other two practitioners have returned home.

Ms. Gu Xuemin was also arrested.

21. [Beijing] Mr. Yang Hongshan Arrested

Mr. Yang Hongshan from the Daxing District was reported to police when he was printing documents for a lawsuit against former dictator Jiang Zemin in a copy center on June 19, 2015. Qingyuan Police Station officers arrested him. He is being held in the police station.

22. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested

Seven practitioners from Haishiwan Town in the Honggu District were arrested on June 18, 2015. Police also ransacked their homes.

The practitioners are Ms. Dou Qiuxin, Ms. Dou's younger sister, Ms. Lu Dongxiang, Mr. Guan Longshan, Ms. Guan Longmei, Ms. Song, and Ms. Bao.

23. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Shi Zenglei Tortured in Prison

Mr. Shi Zenglei was taken to Shandong Prison in 2003 after being sentenced to ten years by the local court. Chai Guangming and other inmates beat him. He suffered a broken neck in June 2005. A few days later he was carried to a meeting of the entire ward to be denounced.

Mr. Shi was frequently beaten by inmates. They rubbed toothbrushes and other hard objects against his ribs. The guards termed this torture “frying pork ribs.” The inmates tied Mr. Shi's arms and hands behind his back, covered him with quilts in the summer, stuffed his mouth with dirty underwear, and plugged his nostrils with dirty socks.
