70-Year-Old Man Denied Medical Parole Despite Dangerously High Blood Pressure

(Minghui.org) Shijiazhuang Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wu Jinhu, in his 70s, is illegally detained in the Shijiazhuang No. 1 Detention Center. His blood pressure is very high and his life hangs by a thread. The detention center refuses to release him on medical parole.

Over 20 police officers from Shijiazhuang City Police Department and Yuhua Police Department broke into Mr. Wu's home on December 29, 2014. Deputy director Li Xinle ordered the officers to arrest him, ransack his home and video record items found that were Falun Gong-related to use as “evidence” against him.

Mr. Wu was held in the basement at the Yuhua Police Department and taken to the Shijiazhuang No.1 Detention Center on December 30 and 31, 2014. They refused to accept him because of high blood pressure.

The detention center accepted him on January 1, despite his history of high blood pressure, which sometimes reaches critical levels and could be life-threatening. His attorney requested medical parole, but the detention center refused.
