Lawsuits Against Jiang and the Attachment to Consummation

(Minghui.org) Many lawsuits were initially filed against Jiang in May, but less than 200,000 practitioners have filed criminal complaints charging him with persecuting Falun Gong. This is a small number compared to the number of practitioners in China.

We have experienced countless difficulties during the severe suppression over the past 16 years. So many practitioners risked their lives safeguarding Dafa and saving sentient beings. So, how can the small number of lawsuits filed against Jiang be explained?

Issue of Fear

Practitioner A said he knows we should participate in the lawsuits. He said, “But I'm afraid. I do not want to be arrested because of this.”

He then gave one example. When practitioners went to Beijing many years ago to appeal for Falun Gong, practitioner B did not really want to go, but finally went with the others. Although most practitioners returned safely, B was detained. Even after he was released, he appeared ill all the time. He eventually passed away.

Practitioner A thought about it. Had B not gone to Beijing to appeal, he probably would not have lost his life. (Another thing is that B often watched pornography DVDs before he died. Another practitioner and A went to his home and destroyed the DVDs, but B died later anyway.)

What practitioner A said made me think. Although I filed a criminal complaint, I have a similar thought. If I end up being persecuted for this, it would have been better not to have filed. Even if I don't sue Jiang, I have done so many things to validate the Fa that it would be no problem for me to transcend the Three Realms.

I believe that such thoughts are indeed not correct.

Attachment to Consummation

Practitioner C, who also filed a criminal complaint, said she had no regret. After all, she did everything she needed to do, and believed she would transcend the Three Realms even if she is not diligent. Although she may not cultivate very well, as long as she does not drop down along the way, she should have no problem reaching consummation.

I felt sad when I heard this. We have cultivated for more than ten years and consider ourselves Dafa disciples. Why are we limiting ourselves to personal cultivation?

One explanation is that we are too attached to consummation. In other words, many of us are cultivating to consummate. When we do this, we are still following the path arranged by the old forces, and have not achieved selflessness.

If we have this mentality when we go to Beijing to appeal and tell others about Falun Gong and the lawsuits against Jiang, then we are actually using Dafa to achieve our own goals. This is wrong.

I hope we can all study the following words from Master and do better:

“Dafa disciples are magnificent because you are here at the same time as the period of Master’s Fa-rectification and are able to safeguard and uphold Dafa. If what you do is no longer worthy of a Dafa disciple, think about it, if under the greatest mercy since the beginning of Heaven and Earth and under Buddha’s infinite grace you still can’t do well, how could there be another chance? Cultivation and Fa-rectification are serious. Whether you are able to treasure this period of time is, in fact, a matter of whether you can be responsible to yourselves. This period of time will not last long, but it can forge the mighty virtue of magnificent Enlightened Beings, Buddhas, Daos, and Gods of different levels, and even Lords of different levels. It can also destroy overnight a cultivator who has reached a really high level but who has become less strict with himself. Disciples, be diligent! Everything that’s the most magnificent and the most wonderful is developed in the process of your validating Dafa.
