Additional Persecution News from China – July 17, 2014 (27 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 25 cities or counties in 12 provinces. According to this report, 5 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 33 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Wuzhong City, Ningxia Province] Ms. Luo Yongxiu Arrested

Ms. Luo Yongxiu was arrested by local officers on July 14, 2014.

2. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Gao Weizhong Detained

Mr. Gao Weizhong was arrested by officers from the Dongan Police Department on July 14, 2014, for distributing materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. He is being held at the Daqing City No. 2 Detention Center.

3. [Xuchang City, Henan Province] Ms. Huang Shuangxia Arrested

Ms. Huang Shuangxia, in her 50s, was arrested at the Xuchang City Railway Station at noon on July 13, 2014. She was taken to the Railway Police Station, where officers interrogated her and released her at 10 p.m.

4. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Zhang Botao's Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Zhang Botao, who works at the Nanjing Nutrition School, was arrested at work on July 3, 2014. His whereabouts is unknown.

5. [Jiansanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhou Guihai, Ms. Tian Baoxia and her 18-year-old son Mr. Tan Fusheng, Ms. Zhang Shouyun, and Ms. Wei Yanchun were arrested by officers from Daxing Town on the evening of July 15, 2014, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong at Daxing Farm of the Jiansanjiang Operations Office.

6. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhao Yongjie Arrested

Ms. Zhao Yongjie was arrested on July 15, 2014, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, a printer, several cell phones, truth-clarification pamphlets, and personal items.

7. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Long Shufen Taken to a Re-education Center

Ms. Long Shufen was arrested by officers from the Tawan Police Station in August 2013. She was then taken to and detained at the Zaohua Detention Center. Later she was sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year term. Because she refused to give up her belief, she was tortured and is now in poor physical condition. She was recently taken to a "re-education" center. Her family is not allowed to visit her.

8. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Qu Jing Sentenced

Ms. Qu Jing was recently sentenced to a seven-year prison term.

9. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Feng Moumou Detained

Ms. Feng Moumou, about 50, was arrested on the afternoon of 11 July 2014, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is being held at the Wenjiang Detention Center.

10. [Chongqing] Ms. Zeng Qingbi Detained

Ms. Zeng Qingbi was arrested by officers from the Xiangkou Police Station in Wulong County on July 15, 2014. The police confiscated her computer, Falun Gong books, and paper bills with messages about the persecution of Falun Gong printed on them. She is being held at the police station.

11. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Shufeng Imprisoned

Ms. Zhang Shufeng was sentenced to three and a half years and is now in the Shandong Province Women's Prison.

12. [Jianchang County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Junying Arrested

Ms. Wang Junying was arrested by officers from the Erdaowanzi Town Police Station on July 16, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong at the police station. The police confiscated her Falun Gong books and a copy of Minghui Weekly.

13. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Yongmei Arrested

Ms. Li Yongmei was arrested at home on July 16, 2014.

14. [Qianan County, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Hongmei Arrested

Ms. Zhang Hongmei was arrested on the evening of July 16, 2014. The police ransacked her home.

15. [Tianjin] Mr. Wu Wanming Arrested

Mr. Wu Wanming was arrested at home on the afternoon of July 15, 2014. His home was ransacked and he was taken to the Gangbei Police Station in the Dagang District.

16. [Neijiang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Suyue Detained

Ms. Liu Suyue was arrested on July 14, 2014, and her home was ransacked. She is being held somewhere at Neijiang City.

17. [Jimo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Song Yusheng in Critical Condition

Mr. Song Yusheng was in critical condition after being tortured in prison on July 8, 2014. He was deprived of family visits.

Mr. Song was arrested four times. He was sentenced to three years of forced labor in 2001 and 18 months in 2009. He was then sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year prison term in July 2013.

After being imprisoned, he developed symptoms of high blood pressure, heart disease, and hepatitis B. He's been taken to the hospital three times.

18. [Xian County, Hebei Province] Ms. Lu Jing and Ms. Zheng Chengzhen Arrested

Ms. Lu Jing and Ms. Zheng Chengzhen were arrested and taken to the Xian County Police Department on July 14, 2014, for distributing truth-clarification materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were taken to Cangzhou City the next day.

19. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Guo Aiping and Ms. Ma Dongju were arrested by officers from the Qingshan Police Department and the Gangdu Police Station on July 14, 2014.

20. [Ren County, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Tinghua Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Li Tinghua was arrested at home by officers from the Xinwan Police Station on the afternoon of 16 July 2014. She was then taken to the Xingtai Brainwashing Center.

21. [Fujian Province] Four Practitioners Arrested and One Imprisoned

Ms. Chen Xue, 39; Ms. Liu Biying, in her 60s; Ms. Dong, 87; and Ms. Zhou Lianying took a taxi to the Fujian Province Women's Prison on July 16, 2014, a visiting day, to visit Ms. Zhou's daughter, Ms. Zuo Xiuyun, who has been incarcerated for more than two years. They were not allowed to see her.

The four practitioners and the taxi driver were then arrested by officers from the Nanyu Police Station and taken to the police station. They were released that evening.

22. [Cang County, Hebei Province] Ms. Sun Xiuling Detained

Ms. Sun Xiuling's father is being held in Jidong Prison in Tangshan City. She planned to visit him on July 14, 2014. On her way there, Cangzhou Railway Station officers from the Railway Police Station arrested her for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the Tianjin Railway Police Department.

The police ransacked her home at noon on July 15, 2014, and confiscated her Falun Gong books. She is being held in Tianjin.

23. [Shanghai] Ms. Fan Limin Sentenced

Ms. Fan Limin was sentenced to a three-year prison term by the Jingan District Court on July 16, 2014.

24. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Fuai Detained

Ms. Chen Fuai was arrested by officers from the Bianfang Police Station in Xilaotai Village on July 5, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books and truth-clarification DVDs.

25. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhang Helian Arrested

Ms. Zhang Helian was arrested by officers from the Bangjun Police Station on July 15, 2014. She was taken to the Ji County Detention Center.

Ms. Guo Jinlan was arrested by officers from the Yongji Police Station on July 13, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her whereabouts is unknown.
