(Minghui.org) Having recovered from debilitating arthritis after only one month of practicing Falun Gong, a Yuxi, Yunnan teacher used every possible opportunity to tell people that the Chinese Communist Party was wrong in persecuting this wonderful practice that transformed his life.
Around October 1, the CCP's National Day, usually considered a day to be on alert for protests, Mr. Gao Xingdong (高兴东) gave each of his students a CD of Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and software that breaks through the Chinese government's Internet firewall.
It was his hope that the kids and their parents would see the true colors of the CCP through reading the Nine Commentaries and break through the Internet blockade to access uncensored news.
One parent, however, reported Mr. Gao to the authorities. People from various agencies coordinated his arrest at his school on the morning of October 10 and ransacked his home in the afternoon. The police confiscated his printer, Falun Gong books, and his cell phone (86-13577767890).
Before Mr. Gao was taken to Hongta District Detention Center that night, his wife tried to stop the police vehicle from leaving the police department, but was dragged away. She hopped on her electric bike to chase the car, only to lose it.
The police went to Mr. Gao's school the next day to make his students say or write statements against him.
Mr. Gao teaches sixth grade at Xiuxi Elementary School in Yanhe Town, Yuxi City. His arthritis was so painful he could not get out of bed some days. His knuckles were swollen and deformed. He contemplated suicide.
His symptoms, however, lessened shortly after he began to practice Falun Gong this past August. He was soon able to work in full capacity and live a normal life without arthritis pain.
