(Minghui.org) Before the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Ms. Chen Xuesheng was tried secretly in the Beiguan District Court in Anyang City, Henan Province. She was sentenced to five years in prison. She is now in the Anyang City Detention Center, where she has been for one year and two months.
In her 60s, she is retired from the Anyang City Daily Use Chemical Factory. Everyone around her knew that she was a nice, honest person. Because of poor health, she started practicing Falun Gong and improved her moral standards according to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. After that her diseases disappeared.
The Chinese Communist Party and Jiang Zemin began to persecute Falun Gong in 1999, and Ms. Chen has been arrested, harassed, and brainwashed repeatedly ever since by agents from the 610 Office, Domestic Security Division, Police Station, Neighborhood Administration Office, etc.
On the morning of November 28, 2011, when she and another practitioner, Ms. Li Hui, were distributing calendars with truth-clarification information on them in Xijianshan Village in the northern suburb of Anyang City, they were reported. Officers from the Community Security Brigade of the Beihang Police Station arrested them. That afternoon, on orders from Anyang Domestic Security Team section head Lu Mingjing, a group of police officers led by chief Wang Junqing stormed into Ms. Chen's home and ransacked it. Even when Ms. Chen went into shock, they still took her and Ms. Li to the Anyang City Detention Center.
The conditions in the detention center are very poor. There are over 20 inmates in a ward, where they remain, 24/7. At each meal they have steamed buns and a light vegetable soup without much nutrition. The daily use items and food sold there is extremely expensive.
Ms. Chen, along with other practitioners and inmates, are forced to do slave labor. They hand fold Yuanbao used for religious services at temples or for funeral ceremonies. Every inmate has to fold almost 1,000 Yuanbao per day. The paper they have to fold is coated with a silver powder that causes sensitivity and itchiness. There is a high concentration of this toxic silver powder in the ward. If it is inhaled for a long time, organ damage and dizziness occur. The practitioners are tortured both physically and spiritually to try to force them to give up their faith.
Ms. Chen had been taking care of her father, who is in his 80s and bedridden, and her grandson. She is considered to be a good daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. Because of her faith, she has lost her freedom and is separated from her family, who are very worried about her.
