Additional Persecution News from China – January 2, 2013 (8 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 5 provinces. According to this report, 8 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 2 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Wei County, Hebei Province] Ms. Wei Wen'e Arrested

Ms. Wei Wen'e was arrested by police on the night of December 31, 2012. Her computer, printer, and other personal belongings were confiscated. Her daughter, who does not practice Falun Gong, was also arrested.

2. [Xiaogan, City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wang Shourong and two other practitioners were arrested and taken to the Fucheng Police Station on the afternoon of December 2, 2012, after they explained the facts about the persecution to people.

3. [Fumeng County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wu Shuyan Arrested

Ms. Wu Shuyan was arrested by officers from the Pingandi Police Station on the morning of January 1, 2013, while speaking to people about Falun Gong at the Pingandi Township market.

4. [Zhaozhou County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Xiao Zhigang Detained

Mr. Xiao Zhigang was arrested on December 27, 2012, and is currently being detained at the Zhaozhou County Detention Center.

5. [Xiong County, Hebei Province] Mr. Yang Zhixiong Sentenced to a Three-Year Prison Term

Mr. Yang Zhixiong was arrested at the dormitory affiliated with his Beijing-based workplace on November 3, 2012, by Guo Junxue and other agents from Xiong County. He was sent to the Xiong County Detention Center. The Xiong County Court sentenced him to a three-year prison term on December 25, 2012.

6. [Beijing] Mr. Zhang Jie Sent to Beijing Public Security Hospital

Mr. Zhang Jie was arrested at home on October 29, 2012. He was incarcerated at the Haidian District Detention Center. He was sentenced to two years of forced labor on November 13, 2012. He is currently detained at the Beijing Public Security Hospital.

7. [Lishui, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Zhou Aizhen and Ms. Fan Shirong Detained

From October to November 2012, agents from the Lishui City 610 Office arrested multiple practitioners and sent them to a brainwashing center. Ms. Zhou Aizhen and Ms. Fan Shirong were incarcerated at the Lishui Detention Center. Ms. Fan had a heart attack on December 24, 2012, resulting from torture. She has now been released on bail.

8. [Gaizhou, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Decheng Persecuted into Unconsciousness

Mr. Li Decheng was sentenced to six years of imprisonment. He developed bleeding in the brainstem as a result of the torture he was subjected to at Nanguanling Prison in Dalian City. After being severely abused, he lost consciousness and was sent to Dalian Central Hospital. He has since regained consciousness, but is unable to take care of himself. Elderly Mr. Li was kept handcuffed the entire time he was in the hospital.

Mr. Li's older son, Mr. Li Guang, was also detained.
