(Minghui.org) Police officers from Gansu Province illegally arrested twelve Falun Gong practitioners on June 11, 2012. Among them, Mr. Li Fubin and Mr. Sun Hong were recently sent to forced labor camps.
Police officers from the Domestic Security Department arrested Ms. Wang Caixia, who is from Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, at her workplace and sent her to the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center on May 31. Her family has tried to visit her many times, and each and every time, they were turned away. Staff from the brainwashing center told her family, “Talk to Chen Zhikai from the Chengguan District Domestic Security Department in Lanzhou City, as he arrested her.”
On the day Ms. Wang was arrested, she began a hunger strike to protest the persecution of Falun Gong. Another four practitioners, Ms. Yu Puling, Ms. Zhang Luchan, Mr. Jin Jilin, and Mr. Chen Jianru began hunger strikes at the same time. As of June 11, practitioners have been on hunger strikes for more than ten days. All are very weak and their lives are now in danger. However, the brainwashing center has refused to release them, and has started giving them infusions.
After the five practitioners' families heard this news, they were extremely worried. On June 11, 2012, at 9:00 a.m., the family members went to the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center to demand the practitioners' release. Other practitioners who heard the news also went to the brainwashing center to demand the immediate unconditional release of all the practitioners.
At around noon, a dozen police officers from the Chengguan Police Sub-bureau and the Anning Police Sub-bureau, teamed up with the police officers from the brainwashing center to unlawfully arrest another twelve practitioners, including Mr. Li Fubin, Mr. Sun Hong, Ms. Niu Xiaoqin, Ms. Li Ping, Mr. Zhou Wei, Ms. Wu Lingfang, Ms. Wu Yuying, Ms. Fu Julan, Ms. Wang, and others whose names are unknown.
On June 25, Mr. Li's family went to the Taoshuping Detention Center to see him. The person on duty said to them, “Li was transferred to Zhangyelu Police Station from Chengguan District on February 2.” The family was not notified of the transfer. When the family members arrived at the Zhangyelu Police Station to demand his release, one police officer lied to them by saying, “Li Fubing had high blood pressure, so we sent him to Taoshuping Detention Center.” Not until his family members checked with numerous other information sources, did they find out that Mr. Li had been sent to a forced labor camp to serve an 18-month term. On June 26, at 9:00 a.m., his family went to Zhangyelu Police Station again, where a police officer by the last name of Ren said to them, “He is at Pingantai (Pingantai No. 1 Detention Center in Gansu Province).”
On the morning of June 26, people from Anning Police Sub-bureau transferred Mr. Sun Hong, who was held at Anning Detention Center, to the Pingantai No. 1 Detention Center in Jiangsu Province for detention. Mr. Sun was sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp.
