(Minghui.org) Officers from the Yongdinglu Police Station in Haidian District, Beijing arrested Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Si Xisui, Ms. Meng Hua and Mr. Li Xiangding. A month later, on October 16, 2012, Mr. Si and Ms. Meng were sentenced to two years of forced labor, and Mr. Li was sentenced to three years.

On September 27, 2012, at about 1 a.m., Mr. Si Xisui, 38, from Jizhou, Hebei Province, was arrested at work in Chaoyang District, Beijing by the Yongdinglu Police Station in Haidian District. The officers used the pretext of carrying out an inspection in order to gain access to the building. They didn't follow any legal procedures and arrested Mr. Si without a warrant. He is locked up in the Haidian District Detention Center. Below is an open letter that his wife wrote to all the different levels of government in Beijing.

To all government leaders in Beijing:

Greetings everyone!

I am Wu Hongxia. My husband, Si Xisui is being held at the Haidian District Detention Center. On September 27, 2012, at about 12:30 a.m, my husband was arrested by the Yongdinglu Police in Haidian District while working on the night shift in Guanghenanli, Chaoyang District. He was sentenced to two years of forced labor without giving any notification to us. We haven't received any legal documents explaining the charges and the statutes that he violated.

This is my understanding of what happened on September 27, 2012. The Yongdinglu Police in Haidian District used the pretext of a fire prevention inspection to get the guard to unlock the door. They handcuffed and took my husband away without following any legal protocols or having a warrant of arrest.

My husband and I had planned to return to our hometown on that same evening to visit our son who had fractured his arm after falling down. Our family was to have a reunion during the Mid-Autumn Festival on September 29, 2012. I couldn't have imagined that they would illegally arrest my husband in such a manner. Our aged parents live together with our young son and daughter in our hometown. My health is not good and I need my husband's care. My right pulmonary artery ruptured and had to be excised. I wish I could be split into two so that I can handle my husband's situation and other things in our hometown at the same time. I don't know what to say to our parents and children. I feel like crying all the time but the tears won't come out. The Mid-Autumn Festival is also called Family Reunion Festival but my family didn't have the opportunity to be together on this special holiday.

I remember in April 1995, my husband went to the hospital because his foot was infected and he had a fever. The doctor prescribed synergistic drugs to increase their effectiveness. A week later, he had subcutaneous hemorrhaging in many places. He then went to the China-Japan Friendship Hospital. They diagnosed that he had a drug allergy that resulted in purpura nephritis, which is a medical condition in which purpura causes kidney damage. The doctor said that it was possible to restore his health if his acute symptoms were relieved in six months, otherwise it would become chronic and the chance of a cure would be very small. If his condition continued he would develop uremia and the survival rate was low. Six months passed quickly. Not only was his health not restored, but the amount of protein found in his urine was 4+, and there was no indication of it mitigating. My husband suffered physically as well as emotionally when he received these results. His mental state was negative. There wasn't any improvement over the next year. One morning in 1996 my husband went to the park for a stroll and encountered some Falun Gong practitioners. They told him about the curative effects of Falun Gong and that many practitioners' health had been restored after practicing. He embraced the opportunity to give it a try and bought a copy of Zhuan Falun. A half month later he went to the hospital to have the level of protein in his urine tested. The results were negative. The doctor couldn't believe it. He thought there was a mistake. He told my husband to come back in two weeks for another examination. My husband decided to stop taking his hormones at this point. Everyone knows that you can't terminate hormones abruptly as the body can't tolerate it. Many years have passed and he enjoys wonderful health. He has fathered and raised a son and daughter. He has looked after our family and made it happy and harmonious.

I want my husband to be healthy and I don't want him to suffer the torment of persecution. We need him to take care of his parents, young children and myself. It feels as if heaven has collapsed since he was arrested by the Yongdinglu Police Station in Haidian District. Our family no longer laughs. We miss him and worry about him. His health benefitted from practicing Falun Gong and our family benefited by becoming harmonious. Falun Gong doesn't hurt anyone or threaten society.

My husband is a kind and decent person. He is filial and responsible yet this good person is locked up in the Haidian District Detention Center and has been sentenced to two years of forced labor. Two years is an incomparably long time. How is our family going to endure without his contribution?

I don't think a good person like my husband should be forced to do labor. Leaders of our country, please treat this matter fairly according to Chinese law. Investigate and prosecute those departments and individuals that have breached our legal statutes, and immediately release my innocent husband, Mr. Si Xisui.

We only want to work hard, be moral people, and live healthy lives.

Ms. Wu Hongxia, wife of Mr. Si Xisui
