(Minghui.org) Ms. Chen Guilian was arrested on October 21, 2012 and taken to the brainwashing center operated by the Fangchenggang City 610 Office. Ms. Chen went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. She was released seven days later. Her relative called Lan Hong, head of the 610 Office, while Ms. Chen was detained in the brainwashing center. Lan Hong furiously said, “Falun Gong has no freedom. Chen Guilian is under my monitoring.” She blurted out the truth that the 610 Office is an illegal organization that specializes in persecuting Falun Gong.
Ms. Chen, from Qinzhou City, was a teacher in Fangchenggang City. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong in 1999, her workplace fired her with the excuse that she practiced Falun Gong. Her Social Security benefit was also waived for several years. Ms. Chen has been arrested and detained many times in the last 13 years. She went back to Qinzhou last year and found a job there. She stayed at her sister’s home. However, the Fangchenggang 610 Office and the police department did not allow Ms. Chen to leave Fangchenggang, claiming that she should report to them wherever she goes.
Ms. Chen and her two sisters went to Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, in early September 2012, to visit relatives. Personnel from the Fangchenggang and Qinzhou 610 Offices requested that the Nanjing Police Department follow the three sisters. Officers from the Qinhuai Airport Police Station went to the home of Ms. Chen's relative several times and knocked on the door, with the excuse of getting them temporary residential cards. Nobody opened the door for them. The police later stopped their water supply.
The relative went to the police station and pointed out that the three sisters were visiting and did not need temporary residential cards. The officers then said that they needed to record their identification card numbers.
Personnel from the Fangchenggang and Qinzhou 610 Offices traveled from Guangxi Province to Nanjing City. They tried to enter the residential community where Ms. Chen's relative lives, but was stopped by the security guards.
Ms. Chen and her two sisters took a train on the evening of October 19 to head back to Guangxi Province. They got off the train at Liuzhou Train Station and planned to take a bus to Qinzhou. However, not long after they got off the train, at around 4:00 a.m. on October 21, they were arrested by officers from the Liuzhou Railroad Police Station. Several hours later, a group of officers from the Fangchenggang and Qinzhou 610 Offices arrived in several cars. The three sisters were taken to Fangchenggang City.
Fangchenggang 610 Office personnel claimed that Ms. Chen Guilian could not go to Qinzhou and should attend the brainwashing session in Fangchenggang. Ms. Chen's two sisters were worried about her and wanted to stay with her. The personnel threatened to send them to the forced labor camp. The two sisters had to go back to Qinzhou on October 22.
The Fangchenggang Brainwashing Center is located at the Lihua Hotel. Ms. Chen refused to cooperate with them and went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. The 610 Office personnel was afraid of being held responsible and had to send Ms. Chen back to Qinzhou.
Ms. Chen's relative called Lan Hong, head of the Gangkou District 610 Office in Fangchenggang, while Ms. Chen was detained in the brainwashing center. Lan Hong claimed that attending the brainwashing center was through Ms. Chen's own will. The relative asked, “If it is her own will, can she go home now?” Lan Hong got angry and yelled, “I represent the government and the CCP. I'm not afraid of being reported on the Internet. I'm not afraid of a lawsuit. I'm not afraid of your filing a complaint. Falun Gong has no freedom. Chen Guilian is under my watch.”
