(Clearwisdom.net) At 9 p.m. on December 13, 2001, Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Yu Shunqiong, Ms. Ai Zhenhua, and Ms. Li Yuanqiong from the Jianghan Oil Field in Qianjiang City, Hubei Province were illegally arrested by the 610 Office Guanghua Police Station Branch while traveling on a public bus. They were detained in the Qianjiang City First Detention Center for over a decade. They were brutally tortured after being unlawfully sentenced by a Qianjiang Court in December 2001. Below is a brief description of the persecution they suffered.

When Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Yunqiong was detained in the Guanghua Police Station she was handcuffed and monitored by several people who kept her from sleeping. After seven days, she was transferred to the Qianjiang Detention Center. A prison official tried to force her to have her picture taken while holding a blackboard with a slanderous statement about Falun Gong written on it. She refused to do this and the official then ordered criminal prisoners to lock her and another Falun Gong practitioner together with a 20-lb shackle. They told them to walk together with the shackle and when they refused the prisoners whipped them. The official dragged them with the shackle on all the way to a small cell. They wore the shackle for seven days solid. Ms. Li and Ms. Yu wrote a letter of appeal to the detention center director, Mo Shiguan, in the hope he would stop committing these crimes against humanity. Mo was very angry after reading the letter and ordered prisoners to put shackles on all three of them and attach the shackles to the bunk beds. The practitioners were bound like this for 16 days, and they were not allowed to use the restroom.

When Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yu Shunqiong was arrested the official tried to handcuff her and when she did not cooperate with him he hit her head and then brutally forced the handcuffs on. Her wrists were injured and bleeding. Ms Yu was first detained at the Xiangyang Police Station and she was locked in a metal cage while several collaborators took turns monitoring her so she could not sleep. After five days, she was transferred to the Qianjiang Detention Center where a prison official also tried to take a picture of her while forcing her to hold a blackboard with a slanderous statement about Falun Gong written on it. She also refused to do this. The official flew into a rage and hit her mouth with the blackboard, causing her mouth to bleed. The officer also punched her in the chest and put shackles on her for two days. One night, when Ms. Yu and Ms. Li were doing the Falun Gong exercises, Officer Li Bao'an charged in and whipped them for peacefully meditating.

After Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Ai Zhenhua was arrested she was later transferred to the Qianjiang Detention Center. When she stopped guard Zhou Shengtang from beating another practitioner she was shackled on both hands and feet for 15 days. The guards searched the practitioners' prison cells and when they found Teacher Li's writings they confiscated them and shackled the three practitioners to their bunk beds. The three practitioners began sending forth righteous thoughts so the guards handcuffed them. For over 30 minutes the three practitioners continued to shout “Dafa is Good!” Guards Zhou Shengtang, Li Bao'an, Chen Xianglin, Bai Mei, and two other criminal prisoners (one of whom has the nickname Xiaozhuzi) brutally beat them. Li Bao'an slapped Ms. Yu so hard that she lost her hearing immediately. Xiaozhuzi kicked Ms. Li in the back and after several days, the bruising was still visible. After beating them, they tied Ms. Yu and Ms. Li to a board with their legs and arms extended out. Ms. Ai suffered the same torture in the next cell. They were fixed on these boards for three days. When Ms. Ai could not pass urine the police finally took them off the torture boards so that they would still be able to do forced labor.

After 15 months of detention, Ms. Ai and Ms. Yu were unlawfully sentenced to four and a half years in prison. Ms. Li was sentenced to four years. On April 1, 2003, they were all transferred to Wuhan Women's Prison.

Ms. Yu was detained in the Third Team of the First Prison Section and Ms. Li in the Second Team of the Second Prison Section. Guards forced them to recite from memory the prison regulations and forced them to hand copy the announcements from the Ministry of Public Security and Ministry of Civil Affairs. They also forced them to watch videos that slandered Falun Gong. Guards ordered criminal prisoners to follow and monitor them 24 hours a day and to make sure they could not talk to anyone. Ms. Yu had to do forced labor 12 hours every day.

Ms. Li was only allowed to stand and never allowed to sit down; she was not allowed to sleep. During the time Ms. Li was persecuted, her husband was fired from his work; her brother was detained for one month and fined 10,000 yuan.

Ms. Li was released after four years of prison and in September 2007 she was again arrested by the Jianghan Oil Field 610 Office and detained in the Tangxunhu Brainwashing Center in Wuhan City. There, a police officer and a former co-worker of Ms. Li's monitored her 24 hours a day. She was not allowed to do the exercises or talk to others. She was also forced to watch videos that slandered Falun Gong and Falun Gong's teacher, Mr. Li Hongzhi. They forced her to write down her thoughts. Several people who were once practitioners but had been brutally “transformed” by the persecution surrounded her and forced to write a statement to not practice Falun Gong. She was detained for 40 days there.

After Ms. Yu was released from four years of prison in March 2008 she was again arrested and detained in the Wuhan City Tangxunhu Brainwashing Center. When Ms. Yu was working in a school at Wuhan City at 7 a.m. on March 17, 2008, police officers from the Jianghan Oil Field 610 Office burst into her workplace and said to her, “We’ve been looking for you for a long time and you owe us several tens of thousands of yuan. When are you going to give them back to us?” They put her in a police car and took her to the Tangxunhu Brainwashing Center and searched her body. A police officer and a co-worker of Ms. Li's monitored her 24 hours a day. She was not allowed to do the exercises. She was also forced to watch videos that slandered Falun Gong and Falun Gong's founder. They forced her to write down her thoughts and write a statement promising not to practice Falun Gong. They also extracted from her names of other Falun Gong practitioners.
