Additional Persecution News from China – December 1, 2011 (20 Reports)

(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties and in nine provinces. According to this report, 17 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 27 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Hulin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. You Shurong and Other Practitioners Detained

On the evening of November 9, 2011, eight Falun Gong practitioners, including Ms. You Shurong, Ms. Guan Yanfeng, Ms. Dong Yurun, and Mr. Zeng Jianjiang, were arrested by officers from the Yunshan Police Station. They were deprived of food for one day, and some of them were beaten. They were transferred to the Hulin Detention Center the next day and have been detained since.

Ms. Guan Yanfeng's and Ms. Sun Yuying's computers were confiscated.

2. [Wangcang County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Jiang Tinglan Arrested

On the morning of November 30, 2011, officers from the Domestic Security Division and the 610 Office in Guangyuan City and Wangcang County broke into Ms. Jiang Tinglan's home and arrested her. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, a printer, Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings.

3. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Chuanzhen Arrested

On the evening of November 28, 2011, officers from the Xiashan District 610 Office and the Taibaozhuang Police Station broke into Ms. Sun Chuanzhen's home in Xishu Village and arrested her. Ms. Sun was taken to the Taibaozhuang Police Station.

The next day, the police went to Xishu Village again and arrested 70-year-old Ms. Wang Ruhua and 75-year-old Ms. Zhang Xiuxiang. The police stole 3,000 yuan in cash from Ms. Wang and confiscated photos of Li Hongzhi, Falun Gong's teacher; a handbag; and calendars that contained truth-clarifying information from Ms. Zhang's home. Ms. Wang and Ms. Zhang were released that day.

On November 3, 2011, Ms. Wang Xiuqin, Ms. Du Yanrong, and Ms. Liu Zhaoping were arrested. They are now in the Liaocheng City Detention Center.

On November 25, 2011, Mr. Wang Naifang, Ms. Guan Yan, and Ms. Chen were arrested when they went to the courthouse to submit an appeal letter for Ms. Zheng Hongying. The three practitioners were taken to the Nangou Detention Center that evening.

7. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Mr. Pei Shuge Arrested and His Home Ransacked on November 26, 2011

8. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Yumei and Two Other Practitioners Arrested

On the evening of November 28, 2011, a group of officers from the Shimenzai Police Station, including Zhang Yinguo, went to Ms. Li Yumei's home in Dongta Village, Shimenzai Town, Funing County, Qinhuangdao City. The police officers arrested Ms. Li and her two guests, Ms. Jiang Guiru and Ms. Zhang Youying. The police officers later ransacked the three practitioners' homes and confiscated Falun Gong books, photos of Falun Gong's teacher, Falun Gong informational materials, and a computer.

9. [Beijing] Ms. Yang Shuqing Detained

On the evening of November 17, 2011, a group of officers from the Chaoyang Police Sub-Bureau, led by the director of the Huajiadi Police Station, broke into 65-year-old Ms. Yang Shuqing's home and arrested her. The police ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books, Falun Gong informational materials, and more than 100 yuan in cash with truth-clarifying words written on it. The officers also threatened Ms. Yang's family. Ms. Yang was taken to the police station. The officers extorted 500 yuan from her, ostensibly for a “physical exam.” Ms. Yang is currently in the Changying Detention Center in Chaoyang District.

10. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Sun Shujuan and Ms. Li Jingxia Held at the Fengnan Detention Center

11. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Xu Yafen Beaten and Tortured

On September 13, 2011, Ms. Xu Yafeng was arrested by officers from the Helong Town Police Station. The officers, led by director Zhu Li, beat and tortured her for the whole night in an attempt to extract a false confession from her. On September 15, Ms. Xu was taken to a detention center. After 20 days, Ms. Xu was unable to move by herself.

12. [Linquan County, Anhui Province] Mr. Zhao Yuli Incarcerated at Baofeng Forced Labor Camp

On June 30, 2011, Mr. Zhao Yuli was arrested, and in August he was sentenced to one-and-a-half years of forced labor. He is currently incarcerated in the Baofeng Forced Labor Camp in Xuancheng City.

Mr. Zhao's wife, Ms. Su Yuxia, suffered a mental breakdown after being detained many times.

14. [Hailin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhou Guirong Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Zhou Guirong from Hailin Farm was arrested on November 28, 2011. She was taken to the Qinglongshan Brainwashing Center the next day.

15. [Yongzhou City, Hunan Province] Mr. Lei Zhiyong Taken to Brainwashing Center

On November 25, 2011, officers from the Lanshan County 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division deceived and arrested Mr. Lei Zhiyong, who was in his rice shop. He was later taken to the Lengshuitan Brainwashing Center.

Mr. Lei was previously a teacher at the Lanshan County No. 1 Middle School. Because he practiced Falun Gong, he was sentenced to six years in prison and fired from his position at the school. He and his family now manage a rice shop to make a living.

16. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Zhao Guilan and Ms. Shen Jinhong Harassed

On November 16, 2011, officers from the Xinzi County Political and Judiciary Committee and the 610 Office broke into Dongshan Elementary School, searched Ms. Zhao Guilan's desk drawers, and forced her to suspend her class. On November 17, the officers deceived Ms. Zhao into going to the County Education Bureau and then detained her. Ms. Zhao was released the next day.

Between November 18 and 28, three people, including the director of the Xinzi County Commerce Bureau, went to the home of Ms. Shen Jinhong, a retired employee, three times in an attempt to force her to renounce Falun Gong. On the morning of November 21, six people, including officers from the 610 Office and personnel from the County Commerce Bureau, broke into her home again and attempted to force her to sign a guarantee statement.

17. [Yibin City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yang Xu Held at Brainwashing Center

Ms. Yang Xu, who was arrested at the end of October of 2011, has been held in a brainwashing center located at the Yifei Living Facility for the Elderly in Caiba Town.

Ms. Yang was formerly employee at the Sanjiang Plant of the China National Aviation Holding Company. In early 2000, she was sentenced to one year of forced labor and fired from the company after going to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. Later on, she was sentenced to three years of forced labor for speaking with people about Falun Gong.

18. [Ning'an City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Shang Xiufang and Several Other Practitioners Arrested

On the morning of November 28, 2011, officers from the Mudanjiang Domestic Security Division and the Ning'an No. 1 and No. 4 Police Stations arrested Ms. Shang Xiufang, Ms. Wang Shuyun, Ms. Li Changqun, Ms. Liu Yan, Ms. Li Mingsu, and Ms. Xu Libo from their workplaces. Their current whereabouts are unknown.

19. [Inner Mongolia] Mr. Dang Zhaojun and Two Other Practitioners Detained

Chahayang Farm employees Mr. Dang Zhaojun, Mr. Sun Weiguo, and Mr. Xing were arrested in Han Gul Town, Morin Dawa Daur Autonomous Banner, Inner Mongolia. They have been held at the Morin Dawa Detention Center for more than two weeks.

20. [Beijing] Ms. Gao Huiyun Passes Away as a Result of Persecution

Ms. Gao Huiyun, 62, is from the Fengtai District. She was arrested three years ago and suffered a mental breakdown after being tortured for about two weeks. She was unable to take care of herself afterwards. She died on October 20, 2011.
