FDIC: Urgent Appeal: Falun Gong Trial in Vietnam Postponed, but Dozens Detained at Chinese Consulate

New York—The trial of two Falun Gong practitioners in Vietnam, scheduled to take place today, has been postponed. The pair, charged over broadcasting radio programs into China, remain in custody, however, and could be tried at any time. Meanwhile, over 30 Falun Gong practitioners who were holding a quiet sit-in in front of the Chinese consulate in Hanoi were detained by the authorities.

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Li Shaotie and Ms. Zhang Baoqin from Fujin, Heilongjiang Province were arrested by officers from the Shangjieji Police Station on the evening of September 13, 2011. Mr. Li was brutally tortured and has since been in a coma. Police sent both practitioners to Fujin Detention Center. They have not eaten or had any water. They are in critical condition. Mr. Li was sent to the emergency room at Fujin Hospital.
