(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Zhu Jianpeng was a Falun Gong practitioner from Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China. After being persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for 11 years, Mr. Zhu passed away. A car accident made Mr. Zhu handicapped, but Falun Gong restored his health. However, the once healthy man died prematurely on April 9, 2010, after the Chinese police repeatedly imprisoned and tortured him because he practiced Falun Gong.

Falun Gong turned a handicapped man into a healthy and positive man

Mr. Zhu Jianpeng was employed at the office management department of Yongda Group in Fanyu, Guangzhou City. He was in an accident on his motorbike when he was traveling on business. He sustained a severe head injury that required a steel plate to help mend it. Although Mr. Zhu survived, he became handicapped. He lost the use of one arm and limped on one leg. As a result of the head injury, Mr. Zhu began to suffer from epilepsy. The head injury also took a toll on his intelligence, which led his girlfriend to break up with him. After the breakup, Mr. Zhu became a different man. He was reticent and felt inferior. Because he worked in the company cafeteria, he was often seen having epileptic fits in the cafeteria.

After Mr. Zhu started practicing Falun Gong in 1997, he became increasingly positive and healthy. A smile returned to his face. His complexion became healthy-looking, and he did not need to take any medication to control the epilepsy. He was a changed man. People around him witnessed this miracle.

Persecuted by the CCP

After the CCP started to ban Falun Gong in China, Mr. Zhu was detained in a forced labor camp twice and imprisoned in a forced labor camp three times for the following reasons: (1) he refused to renounce Falun Gong, (2) he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and (3) he shared with people important facts about Falun Gong.

In 2000, Mr. Zhu traveled to Beijing to exercise his constitutional right to appeal to the State Appeals Office on behalf of Falun Gong, but he was, instead, arrested and taken to the Haidian District Detention Center. The police tried to coax Mr. Zhu into telling them his personal information. When he refused to reveal any personal information, the police stripped him naked in the middle of the winter and poured cold water over him.

In January 2001, the police transferred him to the Drug Rehabilitation Center at Fanyu Detention Center in Guangzhoum where he was deprived of personal freedom, forced to watch hate propaganda based on a staged act of self-immolation at Tiananmen Square, and pressured to renounce Falun Gong in writing. When the prison guards realized that Mr. Zhu was impervious to the forced-brainwashing, they transferred him to the No. 1 Forced Labor Camp without following any legal proceedings. There he was made to provide forced labor, subjected to brainwashing, and forced to watch hate propaganda against Falun Gong. After long periods of mental and physical torture, Mr. Zhu started to suffer from epilepsy again. After he was finally released, he gradually restored his health by practicing Falun Gong.

In 2004, Mr. Zhu wrote a letter to one of the police officers that had tortured him to explain to him important facts about Falun Gong, After the officer received the letter, he arrested Mr. Zhu and took him to Huangpu brainwashing center.

In March 2007, Mr. Zhu was arrested for distributing materials containing facts about Falun Gong. He was incarcerated from March to September in Guangzhou City Legal School, a makeshift brainwashing center. When he was found sharing facts about Falun Gong, the guards tortured him by depriving him of sleep and bathing. They printed a photo of the founder of Falun Gong the same size as a bed and placed the photo on top of the bed. Mr. Zhu was unable to sleep because he found it disrespectful to lay on top of the photo.

Shortly before the Olympic Games in July 2008, Mr. Zhu was arrested and taken to a detention center because he distributed materials containing facts about Falun Gong. After being subjected to brutal beatings, Mr. Zhu showed symptoms of tuberculosis Despite his health problems, the guards transferred him to the No. 3 Forced Labor Camp in Guangzhou, where he was extensively tortured. When his health took a turn for the worse, the camp had to send him to Guangzhou Armed Police Hospital. However, he was injected with unknown drugs instead of getting medical treatment. After the injection, Mr. Zhu started to feel dizzy and could not stand still. He had high fever for days that rendered him unconscious. In the end, he had blood in his urine and kidney failure. The police eventually released him to get medical treatment. He was sent to Fanyu People's Hospital where he finally got proper medical treatment. However, the repeated torture had taken its toll on his health. Eventually, he was released.

After he was sent home, his health improved somewhat. However, he continued to suffer from repeated harassment, which caused him to be increasingly frail. Mr. Zhu died on April 9, 2010.
