(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 22 cities or counties in 10 provinces. In this report, 17 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 18 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Beijing] Ms. Xiao Yao Released after Being Tortured
Ms. Xiao Yao and Ms. Shang Weiwei live in the Qingcheng North District in the Daxing District. In June 2009, they were stopped and arrested by agents from the Domestic Security Division and officers from the Panggezhuang Station. The police took a car and over 70 copies of truth clarifying materials. Lacking oral testimony, the case against them was turned down twice because of insufficient evidence. They were taken t Tiantanghe Women's Forced Labor Camp in Daxing, Beijing, by agents from the Department of Judiciary. They were tortured over a long period of time. Ms. Xiao was monitored day and night. Before the New Year, she was released.
2. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Kao Fuquan, Mr. Zhang Hongjun, and Ms. Li Jinfeng Arrested
Mr. Kao Fuquan from Kaojia Village, Zhaoyuan City, was coerced into to leaving his home and then arrested. Mr. Zhang Hongjun and Mr. Li Jinfeng from Lijiazhuang Village, Zhaoyuan City, were arrested when they posted truth-clarifying messages.
3. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xie Yi Arrested Again
Ms. Xie Yi, an instructor at the Department of Chemistry, Qufu Normal University, was arrested by officers from the Xiguan Station, Qufu City, on May 6, 2010. On June 28, 2008, Ms. Xie was arrested and detained at Qufu Normal University Hotel. Property valued at over 40,000 yuan was taken from her. She escaped with righteous thoughts and left home to avoid being arrested. On May 5, 2010, she went back home and was arrested the next day. Her whereabouts is unknown.
4. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Jianlin Tortured at Weifang Detention Center
Mr. Li Jianlin from Shibu Town, Changyi in Weifang City, was arrested on March 18, 2010. He was tortured in the Weifang City Detention Center.
5. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Tai Guishan Sentenced
Mr. Tai Guishan, 64, from Zhucheng City in the Weifang area was arrested in his home at 6:00 p.m. on April 7, 2009, by six officers from the police department and from the Zhucheng City 610 Office. He was taken to a detention center. Two printers, one DVD burner, one tape recorder, one notebook computer, Dafa books, and truth clarifying materials were confiscated.
While in prison, his family was not allowed to visit him. From April 7, 2009, to April 13, 2010, officers repeatedly asked his family for money. Mr. Tai was secretly taken to Jinan Prison after he was sentenced to seven years in prison.
6. [Qianxi County, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners including Mr. Wang Zhixin Arrested
On May 12, 2010, Mr. Wang Zhixin from the Xinzhuangzi Township government in Qianxi County, Mr. Lu Zhuojin from Lianhuayuan Township in Qianxi County, and Ms. Ma Yinfeng and her husband were arrested. The reason for the arrests is unknown.

7. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Bao Lianqing Arrested
Ms. Bao Lianqin, from Tuanwang Town, Laiyang City, who owns a clothing store in Raoling, Jiangshan Town, Laixi City, was reported when she told people about Falun Gong. At 9:00 a.m., on May 12, 2010, she was arrested by officers from the Jiangshan Town Station. They also took a few copies of truth-clarifying materials, an MP3 player, and a few copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. Ms. Bao was detained at the Jiangshan Police Station. She returned home safely with the help of her family and fellow practitioners.
8. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Shelian Released from Masanjia Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Li Shelian from Handan City was released on April 29, 2010, after she was tortured in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for two years and nine months.
9. [Jinyuan County, Zhejiang Province] Many Practitioners Arrested
From 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. on May 10, 2010, several practitioners were arrested. Ms. Zhao Qun, Ms. Nancui (family name unknown) from Wuyun Town, and Ms. Du Lanrui, in her 70s, from Canlingjiao Village, Hu Town, were arrested. Ms. Limin (family name unknown) from Hu Town and Ms. Chen Gui'an from Xinjian were also arrested.
After Ms. Zhu Chun from Hu Town was arrested, her 95-year-old mother could not eat for three days. There was no one to take care of the elderly woman. The public criticized the police for handling the situation poorly and Ms. Zhu Chun was released.

10. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Mr. Zhang Xinhong Arrested
On the night of May 6, 2010, six police officers from the Sanliyan Station in the Shushan District entered Mr. Zhang Xinhong's home and arrested him. Some materials were also taken. He was taken to the Hefei City Second Detention Center. The next day, officers returned to his home and took away two computers, a copy machine, a printer, and a paper cutter.

11. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Chen Baohan Deprived of Her Basic Rights
Mr. Chen Baohan, an employee of the Hanzhong Bus Factory Co., was arrested by officers Ma Ping'an and Li Youshi from the Hantai District Department and taken to the Hantai Detention Center. In July 2002, after he was released from the detention center, he was not allowed to work unless he wrote a statement renouncing Falun Gong. When he refused to write the statement, he was dismissed on September 9, 2010.
12. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Liao Genxiang and Ms. Xiao Jinying Arrested While Distributing Truth Clarifying Materials on May 6, 2010
13. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners including Ms. Chen Guangfang Arrested and Taken to Brainwashing Center
At 4:00 a.m., on May 13, 2010, Hu Fengli, director of the Department of Armed Forces, Liangjiashan Township, Shulan City, and the director of the police station led a group of officers and broke through Ms. Chen Guangfang's yard gate. They went into the house via the window and arrested Ms. Chen Guangfang and Ms. Zhang Yanqiu. The two practitioners were taken to the brainwashing center at the Shulan City Food Bureau Hotel. During the night, Ms. Chen was released.
At 4: 00 a.m., on May 13, 2010, a group of officers from the Liangjiashan Township Government and the police station also arrested Ms. Zhang Zhanguang. She was also taken to the same brainwashing center.
14. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Hu Lihe Arrested by Agents from the 610 Office and Mengshui Police Station
15. [Huili County, Sichuan Province] More Information about the Arrests of Mr. Luo Liuxiang and Ms. Wu Dengqun
At 12:00 p.m., on May 11, 2010, Mr. Luo Liuxiang and Ms. Wu Dengqun from No. 4 Group, Yunhe, Yuandian Townsbhip, Huili County, were reported. They were arrested from their homes by approximately seven officers from the Dianshanguan Police Station and the Yuandian Police Station. Dafa books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and truth-clarifying materials were confiscated. Mr. Luo and Ms. Wu were taken to the Huili County Detention Center.

16. [Tongcheng County, Hubei Province] Ms. Lei Shengli Arrested at Home
Ms. Lei Shengli was arrested and her home was ransacked by seven officers, led by Pan Shaoming, a police officer from the Tongcheng County Department, at approximately 9: 00 p.m. on May 12, 2010. All Dafa books, copies of Minghui Weekly, Shen Yun DVDs, and a computer were taken.
17. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Tan Xinfeng Held at a Detention Center
18. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Officers from Bailinzhuang Station Arrest a Practitioner
At 10:00 p.m., on May 10, 2010, a practitioner from Bailinzhuang Town, Laiyang City, was arrested by officers from the Bailinzhuang Town Police Station when he was distributing truth-clarifying materials near the government building. He was held at a detention center. On the morning of May 11, 2010, the practitioner escaped and did not return home to avoid being arrested.

19. [Chongqing City] Ms. Feng Angui and Her Husband, Mr. Li Zongue, Arrested
Ms. Feng Angui and her husband, Mr. Li Zongyue, from Wenlong Street, Qijiang County, were arrested on May 10, 2010, and their home was ransacked. Ms. Feng was arrested in 2001 and taken to the Chongqing Women's Labor Camp for two years.
20. [Tongliao City, Inner Mongolian Prefecture] Practitioner Monitored and Seniors Frightened
In November 2008, two officers from the Yongqing Station, Tongliao City, went to Ms. Wang Guixiang's home. They pretended to be officers checking residential IDs but instead interrogated Falun Gong practitioners. The senior citizens who lived nearby were frightened and claimed that they would sue the officers for the offense.
21. [Tongcheng County, Hubei Province] Many Practitioners Arrested
From 9:00 p.m. to midnight on May 12, 2010, Li Yingchan and dozens of officers from the National Security Division, and the Tongcheng County Department arrested practitioners in the county. Mr. Xiong Yangbo, Mr. Lei Shengli, Ms. Yang Xiaohua, Mr. Lu Dajiu, and Ms. Du Pingying were held at a detention center. Mr. Lei Shenli, Ms. Yang Xiaohua, and other practitioners' homes were broken into and ransacked. Office equipment and materials were taken away. Ms. Wu Zhimin and Mr. Hu Dongyuan were arrested on a road and handcuffed. After one hour, they escaped custody with righteous thoughts. Ms. Li Zhuyao's home was searched and a computer was taken away.
22. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Xiao Genxiang, Ms. Liao Jinying, and Aunt Hu Arrested
Mr. Xiao Genxiang, Ms. Liao Jinying, and Aunt Hu, all from Nanchang City, were arrested when they distributed truth-clarifying materials at a market in Qingjiang County, Zhangshu City. They are being held at a hotel.
23. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. He Baoshan Arrested
Mr. He Baoshan from the Beima Village was arrested at 9:00 p.m. on May 11, 2010, by Zhang Yuzhu, chief of the Security Department, Beima Village, Songlindian Town, Zhuozhou City, and agents from the National Security Division, Zhuozhou City. The agents turned on the TV and saw that there was NTDTV programing. They also took away Dafa books. Mr. He has been mistreated in the Zhuozhou City Detention Center.
24. [Hunan Province] Agents from Qidong County Harassed Practitioners
On May 4, 2010, agents led by Zhou Wusheng from Buyunqiao Town, Qidong County, searched practitioners who were at the market in Buyunqiao Town. Ms. Chen Huaying had in her possession Shen Yun DVDs and truth-clarifying materials, which the police took.
At 10:00 a.m. on May 7, 2010, the police ransacked Mr. Xiao Wenyuan's home. He is in his 80s. The police climbed a wall to enter his home. They searched for Falun Gong-related materials but failed to find any.
At 11:30 a.m., on May 7, 2010, the police went to search Mr. Xiao Ganghua's home. They were unable to search the home because Mr. Xiao was there.

25. [Jiaonan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Xu Zengdong Arrested
Mr. Xu Zengdong from Jiaonan County was arrested by two police officers while he was clarifying the truth at approximately 3:00 p.m. on May 12, 2010. When his family asked the police to release him, they were told that he had been taken to Qingdao City.
26. [Hebei Province] Ms. Ji Shuju and Ms. Feng Xiaomei Brutally Tortured in Shijiazhuang City Labor Camp
Ms. Ji Shujun, in her 40s, was tortured because she did not report to the guards when she went to the bathroom. She was secured to a radiator for four days and nights, frequently beaten, and forced to stand for long periods of time.
Ms. Feng Xiaomei is over 40 years old. She was tortured by Feng Kezhuang, the deputy director of the Shijiazhuang City Labor Camp, and Da Xiaoxia (female) from the 610 Office. As a result, she has passed bright red bloody stools for the past year.
27. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Zhijuan Arrested
Ms. Zhang Zhijuan was reported when she was telling people about Falun Gong the night of May 13, 2010, in Jiangchang County, Huludao City. She was arrested by officers from the Zhenbei Station. She is now in a detention center.

28. [Liaoning Province] Two Women Practitioners Arrested in Xinghai Park
On May 13, 2010, two practitioners were arrested in Xinghai Park, Dalian City. One is over 50 years old and the other is in her 70s. They were reported to the police when they told visitors about Falun Gong. They were later arrested.
29. [Daqing City, Helongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Bo Tortured in Daqing Detention Center for over Four Months
30. [Shantou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Miaozhen Arrested and Taken to Basha Detention Center
Ms. Miaozhen, 58, is from the Chenghai District, Shantou City. Agents from the Chenghai District 610 Office, the National Security Division, and dozens of police officers from the Chenghua Station ransacked her home at 1:00 a.m. on May 14, 2010. She was arrested, but her son, who is not a practitioner, was released. Ms. Miaozhen was taken to the Baisha Detention Center in the Chenghai District.
31. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Hengjie Arrested
On the morning of May 7, 2010, Mr. Li Hengjie, an employee of the Jiamusi City Steel Company, was arrested by four officers who were waiting for him as he got cash from the post office at the Steel Company. He was taken to a police vehicle and later transferred to the Youyi Road Police Station.
Officers from the Youyi Road Station threatened Mr. Li. Three officers from the Youyi Road Station and officers from the Changhong Road Station ransacked his home. They took 6,400 yuan in cash, his ID, two copies of Minghui Weekly, two electronic books, and one cover from a Shen Yun DVD. The police officers took photos of Minghui Weekly and the cover of the Shen Yun DVD. Mr. Li and his wife were arrested and taken to a police department in a rural area. Later Mr. Li was taken to a detention center. Because he was manhandled, the old man's face was pale and the guards at the detention center would not admit him.

32. [Mei County, Guangdong Province] Mr. Ye Wenxin Forced to Leave Home
Mr. Ye Wenxin received two harassing phone calls on May 7, 2010. He left home that night. The next morning, he got a phone call from his family who told him not to come home. Some people went to Mr. Ye's home looking for him and would not leave until they found out that he was not there.
33. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Guo Baoyang Mentally Disoriented
Mr. Guo Baoyang, a college student in Qingdao City, was arrested by plainclothes officers when he told people about Falun Gong. He was taken to the Shuiqinggou Station in the Sifang District, Qingdao City. The next day he was transferred to the Dashan Forced Labor Camp. When Mr. Guo was released from the Dashan Labor Camp, he was mentally disoriented. He had headaches so terrible that he hit his head against the wall and jumped down from upstairs several times every day. His mother is so sad that she cannot help her son. Now both Mr. Guo and his mother are being monitored.
