(Clearwisdom.net) I have read the article, "Announcing Request for Submissions for World Falun Dafa Day" several times. Initially, I didn't really understand the type of work that could be submitted.
However, since reading another article, "We Need to Consider the Effect When Clarifying the Truth" in Issue 429 of Minghui Weekly, I have gained a clearer understanding of the purpose. The article mentioned that we need to put more effort into clarifying the basic facts of what Falun Gong is, the goodness of Falun Gong, the history of Falun Gong before the persecution began on July 20, 1999, and the spreading of the practice in China and around the world since 1999. The few articles on these topics have been overly used in truth-clarification efforts. We lack articles and photographs of different styles, thoroughness and conciseness.
My understanding is that submitting articles for World Falun Dafa Day is to help sentient beings learn what Falun Gong is, that Falun Dafa is good, and learn about the history and current situation of the practice. The articles should be about our own experiences or interviews of others. They are not meant to be articles for practitioners, but rather for non-practitioners. It would also be more interesting from the perspective of the reader if more practitioners wrote these articles.
As for works of calligraphy, traditional arts, drawing, photography, and music, they should still revolve around the topic as previously mentioned. The traditional arts alone include paper-cutting, wax printing, clay figurines, dough figurines, lanterns, lunar New Year painting, knitting, embroidery, etc. Chinese handicrafts are truly rich.
Interviews should serve as materials to be broadcast or used in TV programs. In China, interviewees face pressure, so we need to get their cooperation and make sure to consider their safety. We can record their voices and broadcast them using aliases, or cover their faces when airing the interviews on TV. This way we can achieve a good effect in truth-clarification.
This is my understanding. Please point out anything that is inappropriate.
