(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in ten cities or counties in seven provinces. In this report, seven Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least eight practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Houma City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Li Huaiyu Arrested
On March 20, 2010, Ms. Li Huaiyu was invited to someone's home to teach Falun Gong exercises. That person's son reported Ms. Li to the police and she was forcibly taken away by officers from the Ludong Police Station. Officers from the Houma Political and Security Section searched Ms. Li's home and confiscated her main computer. Ms. Li is currently locked up in the Houma Detention Center with two other practitioners, Mr. Zhang Guangjun and Mr. Chen Kui.

2. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Zhong Guannan and Ms. Zhu Lihua's Whereabouts Remain Unknown
Mr. Zhong Guannan and Ms. Zhu Lihua have not been heard from since they were arrested last July. It is said that they are still being illegally held at the Yantian District Detention Center in Shenzhen City. Their family has requested to visit them many times with no success.
Zhong Guannan was sent to a forced labor camp for a term of two years. Shortly after completing the term, he was forcibly taken to a brainwashing center. His wife, Zhu Lihua, was also taken to a brainwashing center by agents from the Shatoujiao 610 Office. Over the past ten years, Mr. Zhong and Ms. Zhu have been constantly monitored and tracked at their workplace and at home. On holidays or so-called sensitive dates, they have been threatened by their bosses at work and the 610 Office. During the last National Holiday, October 1, the Shatoujiao 610 Office in Yantian District, Shenzhen City, took them into custody without cause.

3. [Huazhou City, Guangdong Province] Additional News about the Couple Mr. Wu Bingzhi and Ms. Yuan Meilian
Ms. Yuan Meilian was taken into custody in Zhongshan City nine months ago. She is now illegally detained in the Zhongshan City Detention Center. Police did not inform her family until two months ago.
Two months after Ms. Yuan's arrest, officers from the Shuikeng Police Station in Zhongshan City took away Mr. Wu Bingzhi. They attempted to arrest Mr. Wu's son (a non-practitioner) as well, but were later stopped. Wu Bingzhi is currently being persecuted in the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp and his family is still not allowed to visit him. It was heard that the court has illegally tried Ms. Yuan' s case, yet her family doesn't know the details of her sentence.
4. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Suhua Forcibly Taken to Brainwashing Center
Ms. Liu Suhua, from Chengdu City, was taken into custody during her trip on Bus 81 around March 14, 2010. She was then taken to the Xinjin Brainwashing Center.
5. [Shanxi Province] Ms. Kang Shuqin Subjected to Persecution in Shanxi Province Women's Prison
For almost six months since this past November, the Shanxi Province Women's Prison has been persecuting Ms. Kang Shuqin, from Taiyuan City. They denied family visits until the past few days. Her family saw that she was pale and skinny with marks left from beatings on her face. She was lightheaded when walking and her body was very weak. The prison authorities also haven't forwarded to her the things her family brought for her.
Kang Shuqin has been persecuted in the Shanxi Province Women's Prison for eight years, since 2002. Her back was severely injured and she is in unbearable pain. The director of the tenth guard team nonetheless didn't forward the ointment brought by her elderly father.

6. [Xingning City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Liao Haiying Arrested
Ms. Liao Haiying, from Xingning City, was suddenly arrested in a shop in Yenan Town around 8:00 a.m. on April 2. According to a witness, police weren't able to lift her into the car until their third try.
7. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Yanping and Ms. Xing Yue Arrested
On April 2, 2010, Ms. Xing Yue drove Ms. Li Yanping to Jiangge Village in Leting County. During the trip and in the area of Jiangge Village, they told people about the facts of Falun Gong and they were turned in to the police around 12:00 p.m. Police officers from the Jiangge Village Police Station arrested them. Without following any legal procedure, the police locked them up in the Leting County Detention Center. In the detention center, guards let the inmates beat them. Now Ms. Li and Ms. Xing have been on a hunger strike for three days to protest the persecution. The car was detained and Li Yanping's home computer was confiscated.
8. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Additional News about the Arrest of Mr. Wang Zhansuo's Entire Family
On the evening of March 4, 2010, Mr. Wang Zhansuo's entire family in Huangdao District, Qingdao City, was forcibly taken away from home by about a dozen officers from the Qingdao City 610 Office and the Huangdao Division of the Qingdao City Public Security Bureau.
9. [Chongqing City] Mr. Chen Yiren Arrested
During the afternoon of April 1, 2010, Mr. Chen Yiren, about sixty-five years old and a retired employee of Changlun Dongfeng Shipbuilding Company in Jiangbei District of Chongqing, was arrested when he was distributing materials clarifying the facts about Falun Gong in the Tangjiatu area of Jiangbei District. He was taken to a local police station.
10. [Chenzhou, Hunan Province] Ms. Shi Jiaoyu Has Been on a Hunger Strike Protesting Persecution for Over a Month
Ms. Shi Jiaoyu from Chenzhou, Hunan Province, is being illegally held in the Chenzhou Detention Center and has been on a hunger strike for over a month. She is being force-fed every day and her body has become very weak. Ms. Shi will be sent to Hunan Changsha Women's Prison before April 8, and undoubtedly suffer continuous persecution.
11. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Wu Xiulan Arrested
Ms. Wu Xiulan from Tonghua City was taken into custody by officers from the Tuanjie Police Station in Tonghua City on the afternoon of April 3, 2010. That same evening, three officers from the Tuanjie Police Station escorted Ms. Wu to her home and searched it. They found nothing but a Dafa amulet that was found by searching Ms. Wu's body. Ms. Wu Xiulan is currently being held in the Changliu Detention Center in Tonghua City.
12. [Wucheng, Shandong Province] Li Xiuyun Paralyzed from Persecution
Ms. Li Xiuyun, from Wucheng County, was illegally sentenced to forced labor. Officers from the Wucheng Public Bureau took her to the Shandong Province No. 1 Women's Forced Labor Camp. As she was being put in the Third Team of the forced labor camp, Ms. Li shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!" As a result, a guard and a collaborator stuffed her mouth and took her away. They transferred her into the Fifth Team and continued persecuting her there.
The guards from the Fifth Team denied Ms. Li of food and sleep. They later put unidentified medicine in her food. Initially the guard put the drugs into her food secretly, but later the guard asked the collaborator to do it and to feed the food to Ms. Li. Li Xiuyun, who gradually lost her mental acuity, and could no longer speak clearly. Liu Xiuyun felt weak one day, about two months after they put the drugs into her food, and fell to the ground and became paralyzed. The forced labor camp put Ms. Li into a car and took her to Jinan Hospital of the Armed Police Forces. An examination showed that Li Xiuyun had suffered from a stroke. An operation was performed on Ms. Li at the hospital. Only after Ms. Li's family negotiated with the forced labor camp and also surrendered 10,000 yuan for medical expenses, was her family able to pick up Ms. Li, who was completely paralyzed, and take her back home.
