(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Feng Yuqiu went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong in February 2000. She was illegally arrested and taken to Jilin Province's Beijing Office. A policewoman confiscated 150 yuan from her. Two days later, Ms. Feng was taken back to Shulan City and held at the Shulan Detention Center for five days before being released. Police officers from Qili Township Police Station extorted 1,500 yuan from her. In the summer of that year, the Shulan Education Bureau extorted another 3,500 yuan from her, calling it a "deposit."
On December 19, 2000, Ms. Feng Yuqiu went to Beijing again. She and other practitioners displayed a "Falun Dafa is Good" banner on Jinshui Bridge at Tiananmen Square. She was arrested, taken to the Tiananmen Square Police Station and beaten.
Shortly after, Ms. Feng and other practitioners were taken to a Beijing detention center. She went on a hunger strike to protest her detention and was force-fed with highly-concentrated salt water through a plastic tube inserted through her nose. Her nose and throat were injured and bled profusely. Besides the forced feeding, the guards stomped on her feet, and punched her in the mouth and head.
Three days later, Ms. Feng was taken to the Jingjing County Police Bureau, Hebei Province, where she was tortured. Two policemen and one policewoman forced her to kneel down while they pulled her arms behind her and then jerked them up, causing excruciating pain in her shoulder joints.
Ms. Feng refused to give her name, so the police officers beat her with an electric baton, bruising and bloodying her face and hands. They also pulled her hair until large clumps fell out. They forced her to kneel on a concrete floor, placing a long wooden stick on her calves. Then two men started taking turns putting their feet on each end of the stick, rolling it back and forth like a rolling pin on top of her calves and feet. When interrogating her, they put more and more pressure on the stick until she could no longer bear it. After briefly stepping off, they repeated the torture another three times. Her calves became so swollen that she could not take off her underpants. She was unable to move her legs and had to be carried back to the cell. She had to crawl slowly to the bathroom. Even now, some of her toes remain deformed.
Ms. Feng was later sentenced to one year of forced labor and held at the Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province. When her term was about to expire, guards ordered eight collaborators to threaten and force her to transform. Ms. Feng refused, so they slapped her in the face repeatedly.
After she returned home, Chinese Communist Party members continued to harass her. In summer 2002, three members from the Shulan 610 Office, and Wen Changji from the Shulan Education Bureau came to the Number Twenty-Five Middle School to talk to her. They told her that the education bureau was given a quota to transform practitioners. Ms. Feng refused to cooperate.
Number Twenty-Five Middle School officials Zhang Dianquan, Yang Guangwei, Zhou, Hao Shujiang, Hu Pengyan, and police officer Zhang Li from Qili Township Police Station arrived at her home at 4:00 a.m. on August 11, 2007. They arrested her and took her to the Xiangshui Dam Brainwashing Center in Jishu Town, Shulan. Ms. Feng refused to be "transformed," and was fined 1,000 yuan.
