(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 10 provinces. In this report, 10 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 26 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Sichuan Province] Incidents of Persecution
Ms. Luo Meiqing died at 65 in 2002. She was retired employee from the Sichuan Chuantou Energy Co., Ltd. Her employers had sent her to a brainwashing facility numerous times and held her in the Emeishan City Detention Center once.
Ms. Chen Benlian, 66, family member of an employee at the Chuantou Energy Co., Ltd., died in 2003. Ms. Ren Liansu, 66, retired from the same company, died in 2005. The two practitioners had been incarcerated in brainwashing facilities numerous times and held in the Emeishan City Detention Center once.
Mr. Liu Guangdi died in 2010 at age 60. He was a retired deputy director of the Mobile Office at the same company as the above-mentioned practitioners. Mr. Liu was previously detained for a year in Chongqing and subjected to severe abuse and torture.
Ms. Guo Qirong died in 2000 at age 59. He was a retired engineer and director of the Emei Brewery and died as a result of severe abuse and torture in the Emeishan City Detention Center.
Ms. Shi Jinqin died in 2006 at age 57. She was retired from the Mianyang Department Store. She was detained for three years in the Chengdu Women's Prison in 2003 and released in the end of 2006. She died a week after she returned home.
2. [Tumen City, Jilin Province] A Practitioner Surnamed Cui Arrested
A practitioner surnamed Cui, a clerk at the Tumen City People's Bank, was arrested on October 14, 2010. She is currently in the Tumen Detention Center.
3. [Shouguang, Shandong Province] Several Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Sui Sufen, 57, from Fujiazhuang Village, Taitou Town, was arrested again a while ago. Officers from the Shouguang Domestic Security Division and from the town's police station made the arrest and took her to the Shouguang Brainwashing Center. She was released three days later. The afternoon following her release, police arrested her again and have so far held her in an undisclosed location in Shouguang for two weeks.
Ms. Zheng Juxiang, from the same village as Ms. Sui, was arrested with Ms. Sui. She was forced to sit on a metal chair for seven days while in a brainwashing center. The police extorted 10,000 yuan from her family before releasing her and also confiscated her Falun Gong books and an MP3 player from her home.
The four practitioners from Pengjiadaokou Village that were arrested were: Ms. Wang Aixiang, Ms. Sui Yilan, Ms. Wang Rongting, and an unidentified practitioner. The police also ransacked Ms. Wang Rongting's store.

4. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Three Practitioners Arrested
Three practitioners, including two in their 30s and an elderly woman practitioner, were arrested around October 12, 2010. Officers from the Hongshan District Police Department made the arrests.

5. [Chengdu, Sichuan Province] Mr. Yang Jianzhong from the Wenjiang District No. 7111 Factory Arrested
Mr. Yang Jianzhong, 75, is retired from the Wenjiang District Aerospace Industry No. 7111 Factory. His wife, Ms. Bai Qiongfang, was arrested on September 15, 2010. Officers including Chen Songqing from the Hesheng Police Station made the arrest and took her to the Xinjin Brainwashing Center. Mr. Yang went to the police station on October 11 to demand his wife's release. Persecutor Chen Songqing threatened him. Two days later, the morning of October 13, officers from the Gongping Police Station and personnel from Mr. Yang's factory's Security Office arrested Mr. Yang at his home, handcuffed him, and took him to the Xinjin Brainwashing Center.

6. [Fushun, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Li, Incarcerated in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, Recently Transferred to the Luotaishan Brainwashing Center
7. [Hailaer, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Yang Wanming Handed a Seven-Year Prison Term
Mr. Yang Wanming is director of a Mobile Company. He was arrested on March 15, 2009, as he accessed the Internet at his workplace. Officers from the city's Security Bureau and from the 610 Office made the arrest and confiscated his personal property. He was first sentenced to ten years in prison without his family being informed, followed by a six-month stay in the Hailaer City Detention Center. His family appealed on his behalf for a year. Mr. Yang was eventually given a seven-year prison term and has been in Bao'anzhao Prison since September 2010.
8. [Changhai County, Liaoning Province] Forty-Seven-Year-Old Ms. Jiang Liqing Held in the Yaojia Detention Center in Dalian City Since October 17, 2010
9. [Xi'an, Shaanxi Province] Circumstances of Ms. Li Xueyi
Ms. Li Xueyi from Linxia, Gaansu Province, works in Xi'an City. Officers from the Yanta Domestic Security Division and from Shangzhou Police Department in Shangluo City searched her office at her place of employment the afternoon of October 12, 2010. They confiscated four VCDs, a Falun Gong book, an MP5 player, a notebook computer, a digital camera, and a cell phone. The police also ransacked Ms. Li's friend's residence in Zhangjiapo Village and seized Ms. Li's salary card and ID card. Ms. Li was able to escape the morning of October 13.
10. [Beijing] Mr. Wang Yongrong Arrested Again
Fangshan District 610 Office agents went to 47-year-old Mr. Wang Yongrong's home in Zhilou Village, Shilou Town, on October 16, 2010, and arrested him.
Mr. Wang was previously subjected to one and a half years of forced labor, between 2002 and 2004.

12. [Beijing] Additional Information Regarding the Arrest of Ms. Yu Zhixin
Ms. Yu Zhixin, a retired employee in the Fengtai District, was once locked up in the Beijing Women's Prison for three and a half years. Ms. Yu, together with Mr. Yang Lin, an employee at Beijing University, Mr. Gong Ruping, an excellent elementary school teacher, and several other practitioners were subjected to four-months of persecution in 2003. Their family members lost contact with them during the time. More than a dozen officers from the Shijingshan Domestic Security Division ransacked Ms. Yu's home on September 28, 2010, took her away and held her in an undisclosed place.
13. [Baoji, Shaanxi Province] Baoji 610 Office Agents Arrest Ms. Xu Chunxia on October 14, 2010
14. [Shanghai] Putuo District and Xuhui District 610 Offices Agents Harass and Follow Practitioners
District-level 610 Office agents placed practitioners under surveillance during the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. Xuhui District 610 Office agents ordered personnel in the Tianlin Street and Neighborhood Committee to place Ms. Chen Shiying from No.11 Village under 24-hour surveillance. They also monitored the store where Ms. Chen works.
15. [Anping County, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Yuluan and Her Daughter, Ms. Wang Pei, Arrested
Five officers from the Anping County Domestic Security Division headed by Sun Yihe broke into Ms. Wang Yuluan's home in Nanwangzhuang Village, Nanwangzhuang Township, around 3:00 p.m. on October 15, 2010. They arrested Ms. Wang and her daughter, Ms. Wang Pei, and confiscated a photo of Master Li, a copy machine, more than 8,000 yuan in paper money with truth-clarification messages written on it, and other informational materials. The mother and daughter are in the Anping County Detention Center.
16. [Raoyang County, Hebei Province] Ms. Jin Shuwen and Ms. Li Jinyu Arrested
Officers from the Hengshui City Domestic Security Division--along with Raoyang County Domestic Security Division officers Gao Jianxi, Cui Jindian, and Song Zhihong and four others-- deceived Ms. Jin Shuwen and Ms. Li Jinyu into opening the door for them on October 14, 2010, under the guise of conducting a door-to-door household survey. They arrested the two practitioners, ransacked their homes, and confiscated their computers, MP3 players, and Falun Gong books. The practitioners are in the Raoyang County Detention Center.

17. [Tianjin] Ms. Yang Jinghua Arrested
Ms. Yang Jinghua, 62, from Lutai Town, Ninghe County, was arrested the morning of October 17, 2010, on her way home from shopping. Officers from the Lutai Police Station made the arrest and ransacked her home. Ms. Yang is in the Lutai Police Station.

18. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Ms. Tian Liping Arrested
Ms. Tian Liping was arrested on October 4, 2010, as she spoke with people about Falun Gong. Officers from the Hunhezhan Police Station in the Heping District made the arrest, ransacked her home, and confiscated Falun Gong books and informational materials, MP3 and MP5 players, and money.

19. [Xinzheng City, Henan Province] Ms. Jia Jinhui and Two Other Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Jia Jinhui, Ms. Zhang Shuling, and Ms. Chen Xiaoni from Xinzheng City were arrested the evening of October 14, 2010, as they distributed information about Falun Gong. Officers from the Xincun Town Police Station made the arrests. The practitioners' whereabouts are unknown.

20. [Beijing] Mr. Wu Huaihong Held in Xin'an Forced Labor Camp
Mr. Wu Huaihong, 56, was arrested the evening of August 18, 2010, as he distributed information about Falun Gong in the Haidian District. He was taken to the Haidian Detention Center. Mr. Wu was sentenced to two years of forced labor in late September, and sent to Xin'an Forced Labor Camp in Daxing on October 14, 2010.
21. [Zhengzhou, Henan Province] Mr. Wang Fawang Severely Injured As a Result of Severe Beatings in Zhengzhou Prison
Guards in Zhengzhou Prison violently beat Mr. Wang Fawang the evening of the 2010 Dragon Boat Festival because he did the Falun Gong exercises. The guards did not stop the abuse and torture until Mr. Wang's intestines ruptured. He was taken to the Xinmi Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital his injuries were so severe.
22. [Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Lou Weiming Held in Heilongjiang Women's Prison
Ms. Lou Weiming, incarcerated in the Harbin Women's Prison, experienced symptoms of a stroke at noon on October 9, 2010, because inmate Ma Huimin, serving time for murder, verbally abused her. Ms. Lou is still in the prison hospital.
23. [Shandong Province] Yanzhou Coal Mining Company Railway Transportation Section Employee Ms. Zhan Lihua and Others Arrested
Ms. Zhan Lihua, 55, and Ms. Lu Jilan, 50, were arrested around 2:00 p.m. on October 9, 2010, as they spoke with people about Falun Gong. Officers from the Guta Police Station in Zoucheng City made the arrests. The police and personnel from Ms. Zhan's workplace Security Office ransacked Ms. Zhan's home at 10:00 p.m. that day. They confiscated a computer, a printer, and several stickers with truth clarification messages written on them. The same individuals broke into Ms. Lu's home at 11:00 p.m. that same day and ransacked it. The two practitioners are in the Zoucheng City Detention Center.
In addition, Mr. Han Fengran, a 55-year-old employee in the Railway Transportation Section of the Yanzhou Coal Mining Company, was arrested at work on September 28, 2010. Officers from the Tiexi Police Station and from the Railway Transportation Section 610 Office headed by Zhou Guangming made the arrest and took him to the Jinan Law Study Center--a brainwashing facility.

24. [Maoming, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhang Weirong in Guangdong Women's Prison
Ms. Zhang Weirong, 54, from Maoming Ciy, and four other practitioners were arrested on September 24, 2009, and taken to the Maoming Detention Center. They were denied visits from anyone. Maonan District Court sentenced Ms. Zhang to six years in prison on May 20, 2010. She is currently in the Guangdong Women's Prison and appears to have a serious lung problem. The prison authorities informed Ms. Zhang's family that she has been isolated and is undergoing hospital treatment for tuberculosis at the Department of Infectious Diseases.
Ms. Zhang was subjected to one year of forced labor in 2001 for appealing for justice for Falun Gong.
