(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Sun Yongsheng is from Qian'an City, Hebei Province. In 2008, he was illegally arrested by the police, and in April 2010 he was unlawfully sentenced to seven years of imprisonment. At present, he is detained in the second team in Jidong Prison in Tangshan City. The prison guards tried to force him to give up Falun Gong by brutally torturing him.
Mr. Sun was persecuted for three months in the Strictly Controlled Team and later transferred to the second division. On September 11, 2010, he was again detained in the Strictly Controlled Team. Chen Kai forced him to sit on a metal chair for long periods of time. His hands and legs were handcuffed and he could not move. He was not allowed to sleep for an entire week.
Mr. Sun is 46 years old. On the evening of May 21, 2008, he and his wife, together with four other practitioners, took a taxi to Shangzhuang Township in Qian'an City to distribute truth-clarification brochures. They were arrested by officers from the local police station and were taken to the Domestic Security Division. All six of them were subjected to varying degrees of persecution. Later on, they were detained at the detention center in Qian'an City.
On December 3, 2009, court officials in Qian'an City sentenced the six practitioners: Sun Yongsheng, Liang Xiulan, Shao Lianrong, Yang Zhanmin, Zhang Liqin, and Li Xiuhua. They appealed to the Intermediate Courts in Tangshan, but their appeals were rejected.
In the middle of April 2010, Sun Yongsheng, Li Xiuhua, and Yang Zhanmin were each sentenced to seven years of imprisonment. Zhang Liqin and Shao Lianrong were each sentenced to seven and a half years imprisonment. Zhang Liqin, Shao Lianrong, and Li Xiuhua were sent to Shijiazhuang Women's Prison. Sun Yongsheng and Yang Zhanmin were sent to Jidong Prison. Taxi driver Cai Youwang was given a conditional suspended sentence of three years. He has since been released.
