(Clearwisdom.net) On the afternoon of July 13, 2009, Ms. Yan Lihua of Yi County, Liaoning Province and her husband, Mr. Ma Yanquan, were arrested by officers from the Toudaohe Township Police Station, the Liulongtai Town Police Station and the Domestic Security Division of the Yi County State Security Department. Ms. Yan is held in the Jinzhou City Detention Center, and Mr. Ma in the Yi County Detention Center. Both of them have been held for 20 days. Mr. Ma went on hunger strikes to protest, but the Domestic Security Division of the Yi County State Security Department and the Liulongtai Town Police Station refused to release him.
Ms. Yan is a teacher at the Quanshanbao Elementary School in Liulongtai County. At around noon on July 13, 2009, Zhang Xuesong, police chief of the Liulongtai County Police Station, and police officer Guo Dezhi led Jiang Cheng, police chief of the Domestic Security Division of the Yi County State Security Department, police officer Liu Haizhi and others and broke into Ms. Yan's home while she was at work. They arrived in two cars, one police car and a second, unmarked car with the license plate "Liao G77744." They arrested Ms. Yan's husband, Mr. Ma Yanquan, and began to search their home. One of the cars left first with Mr. Ma and the computer, printer and other personal items confiscated from the couple's home. Several other police officers stayed behind with the other car and continued the search.
When Ms. Yan returned from work, she recognized what had happened and tried to stop the police from what they were doing. However the police arrested her on charges of "disturbing the public order and interfering with the execution of official business."
