(Clearwisdom.net) On September 22, 2009, three Falun Gong practitioners from Changsha City were arrested by police from the Xinhe Police Station as they were explaining the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. Because they didn't cooperate with the police, they were severely beaten and kicked by them, causing serious injuries physically and mentally.
After these three practitioners were forcibly taken to the police station, they were locked up in three separate rooms where they were interrogated. Because practitioner Ms. Wan Ping refused to answer any questions, she was beaten and kicked by Wang Nanting, an officer from Xinhe Police Station. In addition, because he slapped her face so many times, she could hear only buzzing sounds inside her ears.
Wang pulled Ms. Wan off the bench and pushed her to the wall, attempting to force her to stand still there. He started hitting her face again, causing bruises all over her nose, mouth, and eyes. He forced her to kneel down, and kicked her calves until she fell over. When she got up again, he grasped her neck and pushed her shoulders down until she squatted to the ground. He then grabbed her hair and rammed her into the wall, causing a large lump on her head. He kept slapping her face while the other hand was pulling her hair.
During this period of time, another officer came into the room and wanted to take a picture of her. After she refused to cooperate with him, he said, "It's not up to you once you are here." He started stamping her arms with his feet, causing skin abrasions. Seeing that she still didn't want to cooperate, he grasped her hair, pulled her to the wall and forcibly took the picture.
The officer who took the photo then left the room. Wang continued interrogating Ms. Wan. He lifted her up from the chair again and threw her to the ground. He stepped on her knees and pulled her hair downward, while hitting her back with the other hand. He repeatedly hit her until he got tired. After a break, he hit her again. He even hit her with a bottle filled with water.
Because what the police recorded was not consistent with the facts, Ms. Wan refused to sign her name on the paper. With renewed anger, Wang hit her again on the face.
Because she was yanked around so much by her hair, Ms. Wan's hair was pulled out and could be seen all over the interrogation room.
The next night, Ms. Wan was released after her family and a relative paid 11,000 yuan to the police as a "police fee" and "guarantee fee" (there was no receipt or receiver's signature after they took the money).
In order to conceal the injuries as much as possible, Ms. Wan wore long-sleeved clothes when she went to work, even in the hot weather.
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Fengqi, 53, was dragged to the office by the police because she didn't cooperate with them. They tied her hands behind her back and pushed her to the ground. A few days later, there were bruises all over her legs, and her arms were swollen. During this period, there was a female deputy director from Xinhe Police Station who again tied her hands behind her back and pulled her hair. She then hit her head and rammed her against the wall. Even after a month now, she still feels the pain in her head.
When Ms. Liu's family asked the police whether they used corporal punishment to extort a confession out of her, the director of the police station said, "We don't hit people here." When the family pointed out the wounds, she denied that they had anything to do with them, and asked, "Who saw it?" Ms. Liu's family requested a physical checkup, but the request was ignored.
Ms. Liu was later transferred to a detention center. Upon the request of Ms. Liu and her family to consult with other departments about her mistreatment in the police station, the police expressed willingness to take her for a physical checkup. When Ms. Liu said that she wanted her family to be with her, they refused, and the physical checkup was canceled. Thirteen days later, Ms. Liu was transferred to a labor center in Whitehorse Ridge. Because of her poor health, she was released.
Recently, Wang has repeatedly come to Ms. Liu's house and wanted to take her for physical checkups. Ms. Liu's family is deeply disturbed and concerned.
