At the Chinese New Year Splendor in New York on February 9, a Chinese lady that sat next to the reporter said after the first program, "Today is really important for me." She kept praising the show and sometimes was moved to tears.
After the show ended, she said, "I have never seen such a great show before. This show got in touch with something beautiful in my heart.
"Everybody is busy in making money, so they have forgotten the essential spirit of traditional Chinese culture. This show woke up beautiful spirits in my soul and gave me positive energy. This show is something I have been looking for. I am glad that Chinese culture is being portrayed on the international stage."
She thanked the show's directors and actors for promoting Chinese culture.
She said, "If the culture dies, then the people as a whole will also disappear. I am very glad that this show has allowed so many people to learn about and develop a respect for Chinese culture."
She worried that the Chinese government would give her trouble, so she asked the reporter not to publish her name. She saw an advertisement for the show and wanted to come, but she was afraid that even attending the show would mean trouble for her. She finally made up her mind to come to the last show in New York and was glad that she hadn't missed such a good show.
