(Clearwisdom.net) In 2001, there were twenty people detained at the female detention center in Tangshan City, Hebei Province. Among them, nine were practitioners and the others were criminals. Practitioners recited the Fa and "clarified truth" to the others everyday. They also shared with them their own clothes, hot water, and food. Seeing how kind they were, many inmates followed them to recite the Fa. Dafa cleansed their hearts. Some got rid of their bad habits and others promised that they would learn Dafa in the future.
Xiao Yu had opened a hotel before she was detained. She quietly listened to the Fa. The more she listened, the more she loved it. She had the feeling that she had finally found what she had been searching for. She followed the practitioners very closely, doing the sitting meditation and reciting the Fa with them. For the previous fourteen years, she had never slept well because of a possessing spirit. However, the first day she came into contact with the practitioners, she slept very well and her possessing spirit was gone. Her face became rosy. She became very energetic and appeared very young. She promised herself: "I will learn Dafa. I will be released sooner or later and will certainly practice Dafa, regardless of how hard it might be." She was illiterate, but she could recite Hong Yin and learned a few chapters of Zhuan Falun and some articles within one month. In the end, she and her husband were released after only a month of detention.
Another inmate, Lao Guang, owned a restaurant before she was detained. She was taken to court because of her involvement in pornography. A practitioner told her the principle that kindness will be repaid with kindness and evil will be repaid with evil. Lao Guang did not listen. Instead she always plotted to to take advantage of others. She also tried very hard to make connections so that she could be released. She felt that she was unfairly treated and always thought about how to retaliate. She was sentenced to six years in prison.
Two different outcomes resulted from two different attitudes. I witnessed Xiao Yu start her cultivation in Dafa. She convinced her whole family to withdraw from the CCP. She still owns her hotel and is passing along the message of compassion and truthfulness. She manifests the kindness of a Dafa practitioner. Her business is doing very well.
