Agents from the 610 Office, the National Security Bureau and other officials in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province have followed Jiang Zemin's group to persecute practitioners since July 20, 1999. This led to the death of at least 18 practitioners.
Practitioners Luo Laiyang, Hu Yonghong and Shu Ming were harassed, arrested and detained by the police and National Security agents. Right now, Luo Laiyang and Shu Ming are living in exile to avoid arrest, and Hu Yonghong is held at the No. 1 Detention Center in Nanchang City.
Luo Laiyang is in his 60s and worked at the No. 81 Linen Textile Factory in Jiangxi Province. Zhang Yuanchao, the Politics and Law secretary from the linen factory, Du Fang, head of the police department, and political head Wang Yan tried to arrest him. They have withheld his pension.
Ms. Hu Yonghong, 51 years old, lives behind the Nanchang City Public Security Department. The police arrested her in mid March 2007. She is currently being held at the No. 1 Detention Center in Nanchang City.
Mr. Shu Ming is 47 years old. Several years ago Li Chuanzhong, deputy head of the Chaoyang Farm Police Station in the Xihu District, Nanchang City went to Shu Ming's workplace twice. He pressured Mr. Shu's superiors to fire him without any explanation. Political head Yin from the Chaoyang Farm Police Station led several police officers. They went to No. 141 East Nanjing Road and they tried to secretly abduct Shu Ming. Practitioner Shu Ming left home and lived in exile.
