(Clearwisdom.net) (The following is a verbatim transcription) I am 81 years old this year. People usually address me as Mama Li. I have only practiced Falun Gong for two months, but I have experienced enough miracles of Falun Gong that makes me so happy that I smile all the time. I tell everyone I meet, "Falun Gong is simply wonderful. I would not believe how wonderful it is if I had not practiced it myself."
I am from Liaoyang, Liaoning Province, China. I moved in with my daughter in Linhai, Liaoning Province in June 2007 because of my old age and weak condition. I would get better care at my daughter's home. Besides, I wanted to change my living environment by moving from the home I had lived in for 81 years. I wanted to forget about my long, hard life and the conflicts among my five daughters-in-law. However, my health didn't improve after a month living at my daughter's home. I could not forget about all the things that bothered me. I noticed that because she practices Falun Gong my daughter was no longer bothered by her severe heart disease, venous thrombosis and schizophrenia that started after she was born. She looked absolutely healthy. My daughter is a seamstress and takes a lot of customers' orders. She also has to take care of household chores before she has time to study the Fa and practice the Falun Gong exercises. She is busy as a bee all day long, but she never looks tired. She is not irritable and she does not throw temper tantrums like before. She is also very tolerant and forgiving. She is not the short-tempered person she used to be. My daughter's fellow practitioners are women in their 50's; they are all very healthy and have a cheerful and bubbly personality. They are all very kind to me, too. When I noticed the many benefits of Falun Gong in them, I told them that I wanted to learn Falun Gong as well. "Sure. You are welcome to learn Falun Gong," they all told me.
My only education has been two years of elementary school as a child. It was very difficult for me to read Zhuan Falun. On the first day, it took me three hours to read one page of Zhuan Falun and I couldn't even remember the Chinese characters I learned that day. But I didn't feel frustrated. I continued to study Zhuan Falun. Then a miracle happened. On the second day, I read over 20 pages. On the third day, I finished Lecture Two. It took me just over 10 days to read the whole book for the first time. During the process, I was getting better at memorizing new Chinese vocabulary. I could even guess the meaning of some Chinese characters. Thus I started to study two to three lectures of Zhuan Falun a day. I didn't feel sleepy even after studying Zhuan Falun for 14-15 hours straight.
I used to suffer from lower back pain, so I couldn't sit up for a long time and I tended to sleep the day away. These problems are gone now. In two months time, I read Zhuan Falun for a total of seven times. Then more miracles began to happen. My presbyopia disappeared. When I read or do seamstress work, I don't have to wear glasses any longer. I used to be hard of hearing, but now my hearing is back to normal. I had an injury to my right knee cap, which used to cause swelling, intense pain and difficulty in walking. Taking medicine and seeing a chiropractor didn't improve the condition. The old injury on my right knee cap prevented me from bending my leg. After two months of studying Zhuan Falun, I could sit with my legs bended. My knee cap does not hurt any longer and I don't have to rely on a walking stick to walk around any longer. I am no longer short of breath when I walk and I even walk with my back straight. When I took a two-hour walking trip to a market in Linhai, I didn't feel tired and I walked with incredible agility. My daughter, son-in-law, neighbors, friends and relatives were amazed by the power of Falun Gong. They all commented that I look ten years younger.
The hardship of raising seven children is beyond anyone's imagination. I have had a very hard life. My seven children each have a different personality and I have had various degrees of conflicts with my daughters-in-law. These things bothered me for many years. Sometimes I wondered, "Why do I have such a long life span? I am only causing problems to my children." Now Falun Gong has given me a new lease on life. I am in excellent health and am very happy. There is strength in my voice too. Life is now very enjoyable. It is Falun Gong that eliminated all the troubles, worries and health problems that had haunted me for many decades. It is Falun Gong that gave me a new reason to live.
I would like to express my immense gratitude to Teacher. Falun Dafa is wonderful. Being able to practice Falun Gong at the dusk of my life, makes all my years of suffering seem worth it. I may be old, but I am very energetic. I must cultivate myself diligently and follow Teacher to the end of my life's journey!
