(Clearwisdom.net) Former Canadian MP David Kilgour and human rights lawyer David Matas released their investigative report regarding the CCP’s harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. The report caught attention from the mainstream media in Canada. The two investigators also gave a response to the CCP’s official statement.

According to Radio Free Asia (RFA) report on July 11, 2006, former Canadian Secretary of State for Asia and Pacific David Kilgour and famous human rights lawyer David Matas held a press conference on July 6, 2006 on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, the capital of Canada, and released their investigation report which took them two months to complete.

Kilgour and Matas expressed in their report through a two-month investigation and evidence collection, they reached a conclusion, "Based on what we now know, we have come to the regrettable conclusion that the allegations are true. We believe that there has been and continues today to be large scale organ seizures from unwilling Falun Gong practitioners."

The mainstream media including Canada Press, The Global and Mail, Canada National Post, CBC, and CTV, reported on the press conference. The Calgary Herald, Vancouver Sun and other regional newspapers also conducted interviews and made reports.

David Matas said at the press conference that the practice of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners is "a new form of evil."

David Matas said, "Our findings are shocking. To us, this is a form of evil we have yet to see on this planet ..."

David Kilgour introduced that China has become the largest market for human organs in the world. He outlined how much the organs can fetch on the black market, "$62,000 for a kidney, $98,000 to $130,000 for a liver," "I don't think anyone can have any doubt that this unbelievable practice is continuing."

Canadian’s Chinese media also made in depth reports, these media outlets include Canadian National Chinese TV station, some Chinese broadcasting stations, and Sing Tao Daily and The World Journal published in Canada.

The same day as Kilgour and Matas released their investigation report, the CCP’s embassy in Canada made a statement on its website, claiming that Falun Gong’s purpose is to smear China’s image, and sabotage the relations between China and related countries.

Kilgour and Matas held a press conference and replied to the CCP’s official statement. They said in their reply, "The statement of the Government of China was released the same day as our Report. The statement of the Government of China dismisses our Report out of hand. We view this reaction as unconsidered. It means that the Government of China has engaged in no investigations to determine whether or not what the report contains is true. First, it suggests that our Report is a Falun Gong report. Yet, it is not. We are not Falun Gong practitioners. We did this report as volunteers and were not paid for this report by Falun Gong or anyone. Our report represents our own judgment. We have not acted on the instructions of Falun Gong or anyone else in coming to the conclusions we did."

They also stated in their reply, "We reply that we have no wish to smear China's image. Our sole concerns are respect for the truth and human rights."
