Facts of the Persecution

1. Personal account of the persecution of practitioner Wang Xiuyun from Tonghua City, Jilin Province

My name is Wang Xiuyun, and I am a worker in the mechanization department of the Jianan Company of the Tonghua Steel Company. On July 22, 1999, I went to Changchun City, and as the train reached the suburb, Tonghua City, I was forcibly taken to the police station. Since then I have had no freedom. The director of the neighborhood association and policemen from the police station have come to my house to harass me all the time. Around November 1999, they asked me to go to the police station and used force and trickery to get me to make false statements to defame Falun Gong, causing me great psychological suffering. In June 2000, policeman Zhang Donghui and a man working in Beijing came to my house, and asked me to sign a sheet printed with an agreement "not to practice, and not to go to Beijing to appeal." I refused. Zhang was furious and said, "My wife is six months pregnant. I will be laid off if you don't sign." On November 4, 2000, I heard that the secretary Zhang Delin and Guo Wanting said in their conversation that they would arrest me and put me in Changchun Labor Camp. I was forced to escape and have stayed away from my home ever since.
