Facts of the Persecution
Luo Shuzhi, a villager from Xisanjia Village of Qidao Quanzi County, Zhaoyang City, Liaoning Province, is fifty-nine years old. She used to suffer from leukemia but completely recovered since she began practicing Falun Gong. During these recent years since the persecution has begun, the unlawful government officials have constantly come to her house to harass her. In October 2002, the vicious police abducted her and took her to the Qidao Quanzi police station. The superintendent cursed at her for no reason and slapped her in the face. Later, Luo Shuzhi was abducted and brought to the Longcheng Police Sub-Station where the police handcuffed her and tried to force her to betray her fellow practitioners by making her tell them the source of the truth-clarifying materials and CDs. She was released and allowed to go home after paying 200 yuan (1).
Yitong County Dafa practitioner Zhao Jingsongm is seventy-six years old, and a retiree from the Yitong County Water Company. He was illegally sentenced to three years in prison for refusing to quit practicing Falun Gong. Before Zhao Jingsong was arrested and sent to Jilin Prison, he had already been persecuted, resulting in high blood pressure and heart disease. His whole body was seriously swollen and he could not take care of himself. Despite his serious condition, the authorities have kept him in the Jilin Prison up until now. Inside the prison, there are many Dafa practitioners who have also been suffering from the cruel persecution and their bodies show signs of serious illnesses; many of them are unable to walk because their legs are swollen and covered in sores. However, they are still forced to work despite their physical condition.
Dafa practitioner Lu Changming, a former employee of the Panxi Coal Mine of Inner Mongolia, was beaten at the Nanye Police Station in June of 2001. Later on he was barbarically force-fed in the detention center. When he was released to go home, he could not get out of bed. After just a few days of being released, the policemen of Laiwu forced their way into his house and carried Lu Changming from his bed. He was then illegally sentenced to three years of forced labor.
Since May 10, with the support of all the superintendents, ministers, and directors, the Baoding Forced Labor Camp of Hebei Province has again started their persecution of Dafa practitioners. They have beaten up Dafa practitioners with their bare hands, and have shocked them with electric batons. Under the guise of holding a class, they forced Dafa practitioners to listen to and watch slanderous anti-Dafa music, videos and books. If practitioners did not comply, they would be isolated and forced to write a self-examination report, which was then exposed and criticized by others. Due to force-feeding, Dafa practitioner Hu Shiuqing's esophagus was torn from the hard tube, causing uncontrollable spitting of blood. Electric batons have left burn marks on Liu Xinjun's neck, elbows, and feet, and Jing Qi was hit so hard on the nose that he bled profusely.
In Lingwu City of Ningxia Autonomous Region, Dafa practitioner Cao Ming, along with his wife and daughter practice Falun Dafa. On July 23, 1999, a gang of police intruded into Cao Ming's house and extorted 3,000 yuan. Later on, every two or three days, they would go to his house to harass him. They even arrested Cao Ming and his daughter and sent them to a forced labor camp. Cao Ming did not cooperate, and the labor camp could not find any way to hold him, so they arranged for him to be put under house arrest. At present Cao Ming is still under surveillance. On May 30, 2003, a gang of vicious police jumped over his wall and broke into his house, where they pushed Cao Ming's handicapped wife onto the floor, breaking one of her arms. Cao Ming's family had no choice but to borrow money to take his wife to the hospital to set the broken bone. The medical fee was over ten thousand yuan. Mr. Cao's family has now been put in a very difficult financial situation.
Persecutors and Their Crimes
Dafa practitioner Du Rongfeng is being held in the training unit of the Beijing City Women's Forced Labor Camp. She once shouted out loudly, "Falun Dafa is great," and the police stuck an electric baton in her mouth and shocked her so seriously that blood flowed profusely from her mouth. Du Rongfeng's labor camp term was also extended by ten months. The police also forced the steadfast practitioners, Chen Fengxian, Zhang Guiling, Li Yunying, Zhang Yijie, and Li Xiaofeng, along with others, to take turns every day cleaning the toilet and the water house, and did not allow them to meet with each other or go to sleep at a normal time. Zhang Guiling did not cooperate with the police and was dragged across the floor and confined in solitary confinement.
