Facts of the Persecution

The police officers in Baiqi Town, Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province are violating the Chinese Constitution. They have been kidnapping their own residents simply because they exercise their freedom of personal belief in Falun Dafa. A record of the police officer's crimes follows.

On December 7, 2003, police abducted a 34-year-old resident of Wujia Village Mr. Wang Yong. In addition, Ms. Zhao Zhiju, a 54-year-old resident of Wujia Village, and Ms. Tang Shurong, 63-year-old resident of Huangqi Village, were taken away. On December 10, 2003, police from the Jiguan Mountain Police Station abducted three female Fengcheng City Dafa practitioners at Jiguan Mountain. The women who were persecuted included Ms. Zhang Shengqin and Ms. Cai Shuqing, and Ms. Luo, all in their 50's. These women were handing out materials which present the true, good, and enduring nature of Falun Dafa and the truth behind lies that the Jiang Zemin regime uses as an excuse to abduct, torture, and even to murder innocent practitioners. All the Dafa practitioners who have been named here are being detained in Fengcheng City Detention Center at the time of writing this article.

On December 9, 2003, plainclothes policemen abducted Dafa practitioners in Daqin City, Heilongjiang Province. Ms. Feng Zhengju and Ms. Zhao Xiuying were arrested while they were making truth-clarification materials at No. 3 Oil Extraction Plant of Daqin City Oil Field Company in Sa District, Daqin City, Heilongjiang Province. Afterwards, the police ransacked their homes without any court search warrant and looted anything of value. On November 25, 2003, the police from Rang District, Daqin City abducted Dafa practitioner Ms. Feng Lianxia.

Ms. Yue Xia and her son Mr. Yue Ping are Dafa practitioners from Weifang City, Shandong Province. They have been to Beijing multiple times to exercise their Constitutional right to appeal for Falun Dafa and peacefully clarify the truth about Falun Dafa to the Chinese government. Their efforts have been ongoing since July 20, 1999, but they have suffered from illegal treatment and atrocious torture at the hands of law enforcement officers as a result. Eventually the mother and the son were forced to leave home in order to escape the persecution. The police abducted Ms. Yue Xia in 2000 and 2001. During this dark time, she was placed first in Hanting Detention Center and, the next year, in Wangcun Forced Labor Camp. Each time, as she continued to strive to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa and the persecution against Falun Dafa, she contributed to bringing about her unconditional release as a result of her righteous thoughts and her righteous actions. On September 27, 2003, the police officers abducted Ms. Yue Xia and her son Mr. Yue Ping, again. The Kuiwen Court held a secret trial and illegally sentenced Ms. Yue Xia to 12 years in prison. Ms. Yue was thrown into Jinan Female Prison in Shandong Province, where she has been suffering from unimaginable physical and spiritual tortures. Mr. Yue Ping was illegally sentenced to 3 years in prison, and now she is illegally detained in Weibei Forced Labor Camp.

[With no worry about the source and availability of Falun Gong practitioners as slaves, the captive workforce is driven to the limit, regardless of whether the incarcerated practitioners are sick, disabled from being beaten, or weakened by the intolerable conditions. There is no living condition to consider in forced labor camps, farms and forced detention centers, as any improvement in condition will take away from profit. Illegally incarcerated Dafa practitioners are simply treated as objects from which to extract the maximum amount of labor, to be released when half-dead and replaced with new ones.]

Party Committee Secretary Ms. Ying Shuqin in the Agriculture and Telegraph Offices in Liaozhong County, Liaoning Province has been actively persecuting Dafa practitioners at the Agriculture and Telegraph Offices. She targets those practitioners who are determined in cultivating in Falun Dafa. She has laid them off without any valid reason and only given them barely enough every month for living expenses; she has also forced them to quit their gainful employment, in addition to abducting Dafa practitioners to Zhangshi Forced Brainwashing Center. As a perpetrator of crimes against Falun Dafa practitioners, Party Committee Secretary Ms. Ying Shuqin also forced female employees at the Agriculture and Telegraph Offices to write fraudulent testimonies slandering Falun Dafa and to sign pre-written guarantees to renounce Falun Dafa. People who assisted in the persecution at the Agriculture and Telegraph Offices include: Ms. Ying Shuqin, Mr. Yang Weitao, Ms. Lu Qingqing, Mr. Liu Yudong, Mr. Ma Yunxue, Mr. Du Shichang, Mr. Zhang Fuju, Mr. Meng Qinbin, Mr. Xu Shiying, Mr. An Weizhong, and Mr. Wang Baoshan.

Mr. Ba Qijin is the Principal of the 2nd High School in Liaozhong County, Liaoning Province. Around July 20, 1999 when Jiang Zemin started to openly persecute Dafa practitioners, Principal Ba suspended the salaries and annual bonuses of the seven Dafa practitioners who were faculty and staff members of the school and went to Beijing to peacefully appeal for Falun Dafa. He has also coerced the faculty and staff of the school to write fraudulent testimonies against Falun Dafa after the same fashion in which the Chinese Communist Party produced fraudulent testimonies against people or ideologies during the Great Culture Revolution. Moreover, Principal Ba laid off Dafa practitioners in his school without any valid reason. Afterwards, two of the remaining Dafa practitioners working at the 2nd High School in Liaozhong County went to Beijing again to appeal for Falun Dafa. Principal Ba collected 8,000 Yuan of illegal fines each from two Dafa practitioners, including Ms. Sun Hongyan, and he then abducted them to the forced labor camp. [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.] As for the rest of the Dafa practitioners at school, Principal Ba abducted them to Zhang Shi Forced Brainwashing Center. People who assisted in the persecution at the 2nd High School in Liaozhong County, Liaoning Province include: Mr. Ba Qijin (Principal), Mr. Meng Xianyao, Mr. Zhang Shouwen, Mr. Xu Quanyang, Mr. Liu Lishan, Mr. Dong Qinghai, Mr. Liao Hongyan, Mr. Fu Yu, Mr. Wei Shijia, Ms. Dong Yanli, Mr. Lu Chengquan.

Ms. Zhang Huiqing is a 67-year-old Dafa practitioner in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province. On the night of November 15, 2003, a patrol hired by the police abducted Ms. Zhang by force to Huaidi Police Station in Yuhua District while she was posting flyers containing the truth about Falun Dafa and the persecution in Huaidi Village. The police from Huaidi Police Station ransacked her home and looted everything of value, and then put her under illegal detention in the 2nd Detention Center in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province. On December 3, 2003, Ms. Zhang Huiqing was illegally sentenced to two years in the forced labor camp.

Harbin Dafa practitioner Mr. Xue Guijie was illegally detained once prior to year 2002 for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. In May 2002, the police abducted Mr. Xue again and illegally sentenced him to 1 1/2 years in prison. At the time of this article, Mr. Xue is being illegally detained in Wuchang City Forced "Reform School," which is in fact another forced brainwashing center.

News and Activities Around the World

Dafa practitioners in Thailand participated as exhibitors in the 8th "Psychological Science Expo in Thailand" that was held from December 10 to 14 of 2003. They rented two exhibition lots and set it up for promoting Dafa and clarifying the truth. Many people stopped by the booth, asked for Falun Dafa materials, looked at the Falun Dafa exhibits, and purchased the Chinese or Thai version of Zhuan Falun and The Great Consummation Way of Falun Dafa. People kept coming to the booth, asking to learn Falun Gong exercises on the spot. Some of them included students, government or corporate employees, local residents, police officers, and Buddhist nuns. Truth clarification print materials and VCD's were among the most frequently requested materials during this event. Dafa practitioners also demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises on stage, and explained the cultivation principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance, as well as the truth about Jiang Zemin's persecution against Falun Gong.

People's Hearts: Exploring Cause and Effect

Tuanhe District, Beijing:

Tuanhe Procuratorate has been established in Beijing with the sole purpose of monitoring the conduct of policemen in all prisons and forced labor camps in the Tuanhe District. Some family members of Dafa practitioners illegally detained in the Tuanhe District, acted with a righteous conviction, filing official complaints to Tuanhe Procuratorate. These family members reported the inhuman, illegal atrocities their Dafa practitioner family members had suffered in the prisons and forced labor camps, and demanded justice and disciplinary actions served upon those police officers who tortured practitioners. The Tuanhe Procuratorate has opened cases to investigate the police officers reported to have violated the criminal laws as well as other laws in China.

Baishang City, Jilin Province:

Since July 20, 1999, the former Secretary of Baishan City Party Committee Mr. Wang Chun and Deputy Secretary Mr. Li Decai forced Dafa practitioners working in the Baishan City government in Jilin Province to sign pre-written guarantees to renounce Falun Dafa, and coerced middle and higher levels of government employees who cultivated in Falun Dafa to renounce Falun Dafa. The following employees were among many Dafa practitioners who were coerced by the secretary and his deputy into making fraudulent testimonies against Falun Dafa on TV: the former Chairman of Baishan City Women's League, the former Chairman of Baishan City Committee's Political Research Office, the former Standing Committee Member of Jingyu County Committee, and the former Director of Baishan City Propaganda Department Mr. Gong Siguang.* Later Mr. Gong Siguang made a solemn declaration that all of his testimonies were null and void and resumed cultivating in Falun Dafa. As a result, Mr. Gong was fired from the post and expelled from the Chinese Communist Party. The former Deputy Principal of Baishan City Committee's Party School gave in to the atrocious tortures and gave up cultivating in Falun Dafa. After he renounced Falun Dafa, the ailment he suffered from prior to practicing Falun Gong resurfaced. When the former Deputy Principal asked for medical treatments, Baishan City Committee demanded that he write a guarantee not to practice Falun Gong as a condition. Stricken by the depths of despair, the former Deputy Principal jumped out of the building and killed himself in September 1999, as a result of the coercion and pressure. The desperate environment created for citizens of China in 1999 is directly linked to the atrocities initiated by the Jiang regime. For the past four years, there have been at least 62 Dafa practitioners illegally sentenced to serve time in the forced labor camps, at least 7 practitioners illegally sentenced to serve time in prison, and at least 7 practitioners tortured to death in the Baishan area of Jilin Province.

Gaoyi County, Hebei Province:

Mr. Wang Xingguo was the former Chairman of the Political Security Office in the Gaoyi County Public Security Bureau. He initiated monitoring and abducting of local Dafa practitioners. He also illegally used electroshock torture on detained Dafa practitioners. In addition to using these electric batons (also known as cattle prods--a common torture tool of the Chinese police) Wang Xingguo tried to force them to curse the founder of Falun Dafa. Mr. Wang is now suffering from a heart disease requiring open-heart surgery.

News from China

Fujian Province:

The government and Party officials in Fujian Province have continued to open new forced brainwashing sessions. Each time they opened a new forced brainwashing session, they had no qualms about claiming to their superiors that a large budget increase was urgently needed to sustain long-term forced brainwashing sessions. These officials maintained that the forced brainwashing sessions were absolutely necessary to make the determined Dafa practitioners renounce Falun Gong. The truth is that they increase this budget in order to skim a large portion off the top, dividing the stolen money as end-of-year bonuses. This is a small, localized glimpse at the picture of how the Jiang regime has spent one quarter of China's resources persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.

Liaoning Province:

The following abridged criminal record was accumulated by a middle school principal, who is responsible for harming his own students and faculty. This record refers to the Principal of the 7th Middle School in Beipiao City, Liaoning Province:

1. Coercing the entire faculty to sign on a pre-written guarantee on May 18, 2001, stating that the staff of Beipiao City's 7th Middle School would not practice Falun Gong and would not make any trip to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa.
2. Goading the supervisors of the entire 30 classes of the school to select 15 students from each class, and making the selected 450 students and the entire faculty to each make a slanderous statement against Falun Dafa and forcing them sign their respective statement on May 21, 2001.
3. Inviting Beipiao City Television to broadcast programs that slander Falun Dafa at his school on May 21, 2001. The forced viewing of these video programs instigated the faculty and the entire school of students' hatred against Falun Dafa, creating a hateful, degrading environment.
4. Monitoring and reporting Dafa practitioners working in the school. The Principal joined forces with Xietong Police Station and the local "610 Office"*, and abducted a Dafa practitioner working for the school in August 2001. That practitioner was later illegally sentenced to serve time in the forced labor camp.
5. Inviting police officers from Nanshan Police Station in Beipiao City to make a speech before the entire school of students and the faculty to slander Falun Gong between September and October 2002.
6. Coercing the entire faculty to sign a pre-written guarantee in July 2003, stating that no one would join any of Falun Gong's activities during the summer vacation.

In doing these things, the principal has caused great damage to the people that he was responsible for serving. Through his crimes he created an environment that interfered with the students' learning and the with the classroom instruction of various faculty members. By persecuting innocent Dafa practitioners who walked his halls, he has undermined the success of his own institution, jeopardizing not only his own future happiness and that of the people he saw everyday, but harming many in his town and in the wider society, as the hateful propaganda that he spread trickles out from its source. The principal was doubtlessly also a victim of the vicious lies and slander sent out at a great expense from the "610 office." Nevertheless, he is a man of responsibility who has made his own choice to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. This is truly sad, and the writer can only hope that the tragedy of this example can serve as impetus for change in the hearts of any who have been poisoned by the Jiang regime's lies. Time is of the essence, as it is never to soon to reverse a negative position. Please consider the future, and even the effect that might be brought upon others. We can all strive for many compassionate changes.

* "610 Office" is a bureau specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary branches. Due to pressure from the international community, the Chinese Communist government has renamed the "610 Office" on October 15, 2003, and lied to the world, stating that the "610 Office" has been "disbanded."
