1. Guan Yunzhi, male. On December 24, 2001, members of the Qinghe District Public Security Bureau at the Public Safety Office of the Electricity Factory beat him up. His home was illegally ransacked, his computer and printer were confiscated and he was sentenced to 3 years in a forced labor camp. He is now being held in the Tieling Forced Labor Camp.
2. Zhang Shuxia, female. On October 29, 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal, and was fined 3,000 Yuan (Chinese currency, the average monthly income of an urban worker is 500 Yuan), detained 30 days, and illegally sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp. She was held for an additional 6 months after her term was up in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. In the forced labor camps of Tieling, Liaoyan and Masanjia, she was tortured both physically and mentally by severe beatings, shocks from electric batons and slave labor. On December 25, 2001, police Xu Zhenjin, Liu Yongren and Wang Guifen illegally ransacked her home and took away her TV, VCD player, and 3 tape recorders. She was forced to divorce to spare her relatives persecution, and now she is homeless and goes from place to place. The Public Security Bureau also illegally seized her retirement allowance of 5000 Yuan and frequently harasses her ex-husband.
3. Wu Donghui, female. On December 25, 2001, her home was illegally ransacked, and she was forcefully taken to the detention center. She was released after a hunger strike.
4. Fu Xiuyan, female. In October 2000 she was sentenced to 2 years in a forced labor camp for distributing truth-clarifying materials. She was fined 5000 Yuan, and her family was extorted out of an additional 200 Yuan after she was detained. On February 11, 2002, she and her husbanded were both sent to a detention center by force, and their home was ransacked. Currently she is being held in the detention center of Tieling City.
5. Liu Qingxiang, female. In October 1999 she went to Beijing to appeal and was illegally sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp. In Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, her mind almost collapsed because of violent beatings, shock with electric batons, physical punishment and overloaded labor. She was later sent back. In January 2002, police pried open her security door and ransacked her home. They also forced her husband to search for her in a relative's home. Since then, she has been forced to leave home and go from place to place.
6. Yu Guoxin, female. On June 22, 2000 she went to appeal in Beijing and was illegally detained for 45 days. In addition, she was extorted 10,000 Yuan of so-called "guarantee money" and 2,000 Yuan to pay for being retrieved from Beijing (5000 Yuan was returned to her later). On December 18, 2001, policeman Liu Yongren forcefully asked her to go to the Public Security Bureau, but she didn't cooperate. She has been forced to leave home and live on the street. Police also ransacked her home and searched her relatives' home.
7. Li Zhongbin, male. In October 1999, he was illegally sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp. During his detention in Tieling Forced Labor Camp, he was forced to dig ditches, take down old houses, and lived the life of a slave.
8. Li Chunyu, female. In October 1999, she was illegally sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp. She was detained in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp and tortured with severe beatings, shocks with electric batons and other physical punishment.
9. Zhang Xiangyi, male. In October 2000, he was illegally sentenced to 3 years in a forced labor camp for distributing truth-clarifying materials. In Tieling, Liaoyang Forced Labor Camps, he was violently beaten and shocked with electric batons. He suffered various physical punishments and labored like a slave in a brick factory. He is still being detained in Liaoyang Forced Labor Camp at this time.
10. Liu Qingyu, male. In October 1999, he went to appeal in Beijing and was illegally sentenced to 2 years in a forced labor camp. In Tieling and Liaoyang Forced Labor Camps, he was put into solitary confinement. When he went on a hunger strike, he was force-fed and beaten. In January 2001, 3 months after his term expired, he was finally released. In less than a month he was arrested again because he distributed truth-clarifying materials, and he is still being illegally detained.
11. Sun Lijuan, female. In October 2000 she was detained for15 days and fined 500 Yuan for distributing truth-clarifying materials. During the New Year of 2001, she was forcefully taken to the county detention center without reason and was released after she went on a hunger strike. Since then she has been forced to leave home and go from place to place.
