I was once illegally detained at the Masanjia Labor Camp. Now I will expose all of the brutal tortures to Dafa practitioners I witnessed there.
In the female section of the Masanjia Labor Camp, the guards used all kinds of methods on those Dafa practitioners who could not be brainwashed. Dafa practitioners were given electric shock treatment or locked up in the solitary confinement cell where they were handcuffed in one position day and night. The practitioners had to keep this posture so that they could not move or squat down. The head of the guards ordered people who had been brainwashed to keep an eye on the practitioners who had not been brainwashed and forced the practitioners to stand still facing the wall until 1am the next morning. The torture continued the next day. The head of the guards forced some practitioners to squat down on the ground. Some practitioners could not even move their legs when they were finally allowed to stand up after a long period of time. Some practitioners were forced to do daily heavy labor alongside criminal detainees. During the busy period, practitioners had to work until 2am or 3am the next morning and get up at 5am to start working at 6:30am.
Practitioners suffered even more in the male section of the Masanjia Labor Camp. The criminal detainees beat them with leather belts when they refused to be brainwashed. They were forced to do heavy labor even when they were injured from the beatings they received. If they could not finish their work because they had been beaten to the point of sustaining internal injuries, they would be continuously tortured until they were hospitalized.
In addition, it was said that the "human rights scoundrel" Jiang Zemin [Amnesty International recently listed Chinese president Jiang Zemin as one of its human rights "scoundrels."] had allocated a huge amount of funds, 12 million Yuan [about US$1.5 million], to the Masanjia Labor Camp to build another "brainwashing center."

On April 28, 2001, the crimes of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners committed by the law-violating officials in Shijiazhuang City Thermoelectricity Factory were exposed on Minghui Net. On the same day, a severe power-outage accident took place, which interrupted the electricity supply to many work units, causing huge economic losses.
On May 11, there was another accident. The cables caught on fire, which suspended service to the electric generators. The unit that was immediately liable was the thermoelectricity plant that had severely tortured Falun Dafa practitioners and three Dafa practitioners had been expelled by the plant for no reason.

On the morning of June 16, thousands of citizens doing their morning exercises were pleasantly surprised to see signs on rocks and walls along the hill roads. The signs read, "Falun Dafa is Good." At various morning exercise sites, there were a lot of Dafa flyers posted that exposed the vicious forces and called upon the good consciences of the people. [Gansu Province] Members of a Poor Farm Family Commit Suicide in Gansu Province; Local Law-violation Officials Attempt to Shift the Blame onto Falun Gong
Last Chinese New Year's Eve, farmer Zhang Niuniu's five family members in Minwu Village, Mali Town, Wushan County, Gansu Province committed suicide by taking poison, causing four deaths.
After the the family suicide incident happened, local officials immediately blocked the news and reported it to the upper level government. They then listed the case in the "Statistics of Falun Gong Practitioners Committing Suicide," attempting to shift the blame to Falun Gong.
[Changchun City, Jilin Province] "He Who Slanders Falun Gong Will Receive Retribution"
Changchun City's New Culture newspaper posted the solicited contributions for the caricature contest slandering Falun Dafa. Recently, the newspaper authorities once again published articles to slander Falun Dafa in cooperating with "human rights scoundrel" Jiang Zemin's political propaganda.
After an old subscriber read those articles, he said, "What is this? Where is the New Culture? It is totally political propaganda. It has almost been turned into the supplement of the People's Daily [the official government mouthpiece]. I think Falun Gong is good. If everyone behaved according to 'Truth, Compassion, Tolerance,' the society would have been much better."
Another subscriber complained, "I could not agree with you more. The New Culture newspaper doesn't talk about new culture. It has become a tool manipulated by political propaganda. Whoever slanders Falun Gong will receive retribution. I will not subscribe to this newspaper anymore."
Lies can no longer bewitch people. Justice will be brought forth. Good will be met with Good Rewards, and Evil acts will be met with Evil Returns.
[Tianshui City, Gansu Province] The Viciousness of the Police: Searching through Practitioners' Underwear for Money; Restricting Their Toilet Privileges; Forcibly Administering Drugs Anally Using Rubber Tubing
1. At the end of December 2000, a female practitioner who went to Beijing to validate Dafa was arrested and sent to Tianshui Local Liaison Office in Beijing. A leading official of the Security Department from the Yonghong Factory went to Beijing to escort her back. This ruffian demanded money from the female practitioner but was refused. Therefore he searched her body all over with his hands. He punched and kicked the practitioner and forced her to take off her clothes. Finally, he took away all the money that he found in her underwear.
2. A couple from a village in the Beidao District went to Beijing to validate Dafa. Since the husband refused to tell his name and address, they were jailed. The Beijing policemen forced him to take off all his clothes and then poured cold water onto the practitioner while beating him up. But he still refused to tell them and went on a hunger strike, together with other practitioners. The unscrupulous policemen tied him up on the bed and force-fed him, although he tried not to cooperate with them. The police officer said, "If you do not cooperate, I will feed you with excrement and urine!"
His wife suffered frequent brutal beatings after being escorted back to Tianshui City. Once, at midnight, the head of the local police station by the name of Yan intruded into the cell. The wife told him, "Please, first knock on the door before you come in so we can put on our clothes." The head said, "I like to watch you sleeping without clothes on." He handcuffed the practitioners on the railings of the corridor for the whole night. In the next morning, the wife said, " I want to go to the bathroom." A depraved policeman said, "You can do that right here in front of us." In the room, there were not only male practitioners but also male drug offenders. Her husband and another male practitioner came forth to condemn the police. As a result, they were carried out and thrown down the stairs by the policemen. Afterwards, they could not get up for a long time.
3. On January 16, 2001, practitioners in Luergou Detention Center, Qincheng District had been on a hunger strike for six days. Officer Wen Dahu from the Politics and Law Department, followed by the ruffians Liu, Xian and Pei, came to verbally abuse Dafa practitioners. The next day, guard Wang Hongyu from the detention center and Doctor Shi ordered the criminals to remove the practitioners' pants. They anally inserted rubber tubes and administered a fluid mixture of drugs and egg whites.
4. Dafa practitioner Wang Junhua was arrested when distributing Dafa truth-clarifying materials. He was hung up and beaten by people from the Politics and Law Department. He was then detained in a detention center for over two months. There were also many other practitioners being tricked into the detention center by their work unit officials with the excuse of going there to "have a chat." Now they have been detained for half a year.
[Weifang City, Shandong Province] Crime Records: Crimes Committed by Yang Xuesi and Xu Songran from Changle County Experimental Middle School in Weifang City
Secretary Yang Xuesi and assistant secretary Xu Songran from Changle Experimental Middle School prohibited Dafa practitioners from going to work and suspended their salaries. One practitioner went to Beijing twice to appeal. She was not only fined 8,000 Yuan but, since April 8, 2000 was also put under 24-hour surveillance. On October 4, she was sent to "138 Reeducation Class." During the class, this practitioner did not receive her salary at all. In addition, she had to pay 160 Yuan for the "supervision." The practitioner became poverty-stricken. To help her, some parents of her students hired her to tutor their children at home. After Xu Songran learned about this, he informed the teachers to find out the names of the students who were tutored by the practitioner. The teacher had to take the responsibility if there were students from his/her class being tutored by the practitioner. This has upset many parents.
Another Dafa practitioner was locked up in a small room of less than 10 square meters. He had to eat, drink and go to the bathroom in the same room until this May, after which he was forcibly sent to a labor camp for brainwashing.
Recently, they forcibly sent these two practitioners to a labor camp for brainwashing. One of them escaped and is now wandering about like a homeless person.
Evil will be met with evil. Last year, Secretary Yang Xuesi was diagnosed with lung cancer and part of his lung had to be removed. However, he has not yet been awakened and has been continuing to order Xu Songran and Liu Zengjun to commit vicious deeds and harass Dafa practitioners.

[Anhui Province] We Sternly Warn the Official Law-Violators of Huaibei and Suixi District in Anhui Province
Since July 20, 1999, the law-violating policemen and officials of the Politics and Law Department in Huaibei and Suixin Districts have been brutally persecuting the peaceful and kindhearted Falun Gong practitioners. [Shanxi Province] Tortured Dafa Practitioners' Rough Situation in Shanxi Province
In June 2000, we fellow practitioners gathered together for a discussion. The villains regarded it as an illegal assembly and unlawfully detained us for 52 days, during which time we were treated inhumanly. The director of the detention center ordered his subordinates to strictly watch us. For each meal, they only provided some soup and a little piece of bun. Sometimes there was not even a bun. It was very hot in the summer. Mosquitoes and flies were swarming everywhere and the ground was infested with maggots. We were tortured like this simply because we want to be good people. The authorities even forbade our family members from visiting us. The detention center personnel also ordered the drug addicts to watch and beat us. Under these difficult circumstances we kept on spreading the Fa and clarifying the truth with kind hearts and tried to let them know more about Dafa and Dafa practitioners.
The guards of the detention center ignored the situation of practitioner Chen Ying, who is over 60-years-old. She was given very little food for each meal. Due to lack of food and water, this practitioner fainted. Yet the guards were still planning to send her to a labor camp. Altogether, we were detained for 52 days although they had only issued a 20-day-detention warrant.
The factory dismissed us from our jobs for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. We are now receiving a monthly allowance of 121 Yuan. Nevertheless, we are still working hard according to the requirements of Dafa.

[Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Law-violating Officers Illegally Hold a New Brainwashing Class in Guangzou City
The City of Guangzhou is holding another round of illegal brainwashing classes. In Haizhu District alone, there are a dozen of Falun Gong practitioners being illegally held at the brainwashing class and suffering from mental tortures.
Chatou Women's Labor Camp of Guangzhou has put over 20 practitioners who refused to accept brainwashing under strict constraints. The labor camp doesn't allow family members to visit practitioners. The practitioners' situation is worrisome.
[Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] In Zhengzhou City, a Family of Dafa Practitioners Firmly Safeguards Dafa
Xiao Yan (pseudonym) and his (or her) parents are all Dafa practitioners in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. They have been to Beijing many times to safeguard Dafa and assist Teacher in this human world. They went on a hunger strike after being escorted back to Henan for detention from their first trip to Beijing to appeal. During the hunger strike it was determined that they suffered from lowered blood pressure and pulse rate when they were given a physical checkup. For fear of any responsibility, the detention center fined them 10,000 Yuan [over 1 years' salary for a city worker in China; the monthly income is 500 Yuan] and put them under house arrest instead. Two policemen moved in downstairs in their home to keep under surveillance their every action and move.
Last Chinese New Year's Eve [on January 23, 2001], the practitioners broke away from the surveillance and again went to Tiananmen Square to unfurl a Dafa banner. They were caught by policemen and beaten to the ground. On the way back to Zhengzhou Detention Center, they ran into a traffic accident. Everyone except the Dafa practitioners was injured. Later, Xiao Yan escaped with a righteous thought. At present, his father has been sentenced to three years in labor camp, his mother has been sentenced to two years in labor camp. Xiao Yan has left home now and has actively joined the great torrent of Fa-rectification.
