[Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province] The Personnel of Public Security Department commented that those who treated Falun Gong practitioners cruelly had indeed experienced retribution.

Lu Yaoxiang, a man in his thirties, was the political instructor of the vice squad of Changan Substation of Shijiazhuang City. He was in charge of [the persecution of] Falun Gong affairs before last October. He has "outstanding achievements" in doing this task and has put numerous Dafa practitioners into labor education camps. He had a traffic accident while handling a case at the end of last October. His driver died on the spot, and he was out of danger after several days' emergency treatment. He has not returned to his work since then because of the serious damage to his brain. The Personnel of Public Security Department commented that those who treated Falun Gong practitioners cruelly had indeed experienced retribution.

[Mainland China] A brief report about the "telling the truth" activities of Dafa practitioners in Mainland China

Dafa practitioners in Mainland China have treated "telling the truth of Falun Gong to the public" and "assisting the teacher in the human world" as the most important task of promoting the Fa at present. Recently, they adopted various means to spread a large quantity of flyers and helped clarify the truth to people.

Recently, an annual "negotiation meeting of investment and trade" was held in a city and there were a lot of domestic and foreign businessmen attending. To prevent accidents, a lot of armed policemen were deployed in full force. However there were still hundreds of Dafa materials appearing in the meeting place and circulating among the domestic and foreign businessmen.

As the new semester began at a primary school in a city, Dafa flyers appeared on the desks of the principal and the director of instruction. The material was provided by a group of young practitioners at that school.

An infamous head of a labor camp recently received a big pile of Dafa materials and letters from Dafa practitioners from all places. He shivered when explaining to others: "What's this all about? They are all aiming at me, my supervisor will suspect that I have something to do with Falun Gong!"

[Mainland China] Expose the evil and save the policemen

Dafa practitioners in a city made some flyers telling the truth about the persecution of Dafa practitioners and distributed these flyers among local residents. On the flyers some local policemen who persecuted practitioners were listed, along with these policemen's names, addresses, and their relatives' information. "The means the police adopted [for persecution] are all extremely evil and shameful to be shown in public and they dare not to be exposed." Some policemen did not continue their evil deeds under the reprehension of their relatives and friends and the pressure of the public voice. Thus, Dafa practitioners told the truth to the people, changed the environment, and saved those policemen as well.

[Mainland China] A touching story of validating Dafa in a woman's detention center

In second half of last December, it was very cold in a certain city, and the temperature was around zero degrees Celsius. At that time there were over 200 female Dafa practitioners detained in a detention center for females. They persisted in studying the Fa and practicing at the detention center. Thus, they were scolded and punished by the police because of this.

One day morning in the last week of last December, Dafa practitioners once again went to the playground to do group exercises and were stopped forcibly by the police. The police ordered them to take off their cotton-padded clothes and stand on the playground in the piercingly cold winds with only underclothes on. One was allowed to put on her clothes and go indoors by just saying one sentence: "I will not practice." However, all the practitioners stood there like a rock without even moving. Thus, with only their underclothes on, they endured the cold, hunger, and the pain of not being allowed to go to restroom from 6:00AM until 5:30PM. Among them there were elders in their fifties and sixties as well as young girls of about 20 years old. Such striking willpower and great physical endurance are incredible. The head and the police were scared in the end, and they could do nothing but abolish the ban: "We cannot control you Falun Gong practitioners, we will not interfere with your study and practice from now on."

This is truly the power of Dafa and the firmness of Dafa practitioners. Even under such harsh circumstances in the detention center, they had corrected their cultivation environment. After this, they could not prohibit Dafa practitioners from studying the Fa and practicing in the [town] center anymore. More importantly, their persistence in Dafa cultivation attested to the world how great and extraordinary Falun Dafa is.

This feat generated very good reactions in the detention center and society. The head of the center told some Dafa practitioners: "I also have many illnesses. If not for the sake of this uniform (pointing the military coat she wears) and the living of my family, I would practice Falun Gong as well." Many policemen talked about this and said that these Dafa practitioners

stood more than ten hours outdoors in cold and hunger without catching any illness and continued their labor as usual the day after. Some prisoners also wanted to study Falun Gong. Some wrote down Dafa practitioners' phone numbers and said that they would contact the practitioners after being released and cultivate Falun Gong.

[Gansu] Over 80 Dafa practitioners in Zhangye city, Gansu province stepped forward to practice and introduce Dafa at a trade fair, and were arrested

The annual trade fair of Zhangye city, Gansu province, was held in July. A lot of businessmen attended the fair and it was very busy. Local Dafa practitioners decided to take this good opportunity and step forward to promote Dafa. At the opening day, over 80 Dafa practitioners stepped forward resolutely. They held banners and displayed pictures, did group exercises, and distributed Dafa materials telling the truth about Falun Gong to the people. More than 40 Dafa practitioners were arrested that day, among them more than 10 practitioners were sentenced with forced labor.

[Lanzhou, Gansu Province] The Chief Assistant of Dafa Assistance Center in Lanzhou declared all his previous guaranties and repentances void

In about the middle of August, the police in Lanzhou gathered seven Dafa assistants from the former Lanzhou Dafa Assistance Center and asked them to declare their positions on Falun Gong for the second time. In face of the trial of life and death, these seven people made different choices and laid the future positions of their lives accordingly once again.

Yuan Jiang, the Chief Assistant of Dafa Assistance Center in Lanzhou, said he will firmly cultivate Dafa and declared void all the guaranties and repentances he made previously under intimidation and lure of material gains. Afterwards, he was arrested. No one knows his whereabouts currently.

[Mainland China] In early August, led by the personnel of the special "623" office of the government (an office specially set up for persecuting Dafa practitioners), four special agents disguised as Dafa practitioners came to the detention center. About 50 Dafa practitioners who were arrested for appealing in Beijing around July 22 were detained here. They brought up 4 practitioners and attempted to "help and transform" them one on one. The following was the record of their dialogue.

Special agents: Master said...

Practitioners: Shut your mouth, you are being used by demons. You have no qualification to speak about our Teacher. He is our Teacher, not yours.

Special agents: Okay, nothing about Teacher. I will not mention it again. But we were fellow practitioners before.

Practitioners: You are sabotaging Dafa and vilifying our Teacher. Your bodies and spirits will be eliminated completely. Teacher will not regard you as students and we will not recognize you either.

With pale faces, the special agents could not speak a single word more. After the "623" personnel found that it did not work, they left with these special agents. They scolded the special agents while departing: "You all were good at talking. Why can't you speak now?"

These special agents also went to some other cities with the so-called "Disclosing Falun Gong" videotapes. Local police officers tried to gather practitioners to watch the videotapes but were boycotted by practitioners. It was reported that three practitioners were put into labor camp for refusing to watch such slanderous videotapes.

[Lanzhou] A practitioner was put into a labor camp in Pingtai, Lanzhou. His wife (also a practitioner) went to visit him. However, after the labor camp found out that she was also a practitioner, she was denied the legal right to visit her husband the second time she went there. The weather became colder now but this practitioner cannot receive his cotton-padded warm clothing because, according to the Pingtai labor camp's policy, only relatives are allowed to visit and bring him clothing.

[Lanzhou] People detained in Xiguoyuan detention center in Lanzhou were forced to work for "Zhenglin" brand melon seeds

Recently, someone disclosed a dark scene at Xiguoyuan detention center in Lanzhou: people were forced to collect melon seeds. Actually, the same thing happens not only at Xiguoyuan detention center but also at Dashaping detention center in Lanzhou. About 10,000 un-sentenced people in the two detention centers were forced to collect melon seeds. Every fall and winter, they harvest the little, immature melon seeds; every spring and summer, they break open the gathered melon seeds with their teeth. This is not an easy job. No matter whether in the cold winter or the hot summer, they had to work outdoors. Everyone had to collect one big bag and break open two and a quarter kilograms of seeds everyday. If they did not finish the work, they were not permitted to sleep. They had to squat to work. After some time, their fingers, nails, mouths and teeth all were distorted. The practitioners in these two detention centers were treated even worse.

There is one more thing worth mentioning: who do these melon seeds picked by ten thousand prisoners (including several dozens of Dafa practitioners) belong to? They mainly belong to Lanzhou Zhenglin Farm Food Ltd., which is a factory belongs to a Taiwan businessman, Lin Ken. There are also a couple of businesses owned by Taiwanese involved in harvesting melon seeds.

We call on more international human rights organizations to concern about the practitioners forced to labor in these two detention centers and help them to regain a normal life and the freedom of cultivation.

[Jinan, Shandong Province] The brutal deeds of the evil forces persecuting Dafa practitioners

A female practitioner in Jinan was fined 5,000 Yuan for appealing, and detained in local police station for more than 30 hours afterwards. She was sent into a mental hospital while in a normal psychiatric condition. She was forcibly tied to a bed and injected with medicine causing stupor and agitation.

By employing espionage, the Dianliu police station of the Lixia district tracked Dafa practitioners and monitored their phone calls, severely infringing basic human rights. Several practitioners were interrogated, detained, or fined for doing morning exercises, normal visits, and communicating with others.

A female practitioner in Changqing County, Jinan was detained for two days and fined 2,000 Yuan for clarifying the truth to the government in March, 2000. Later on she was detained again in the city detention center for one month for displaying banners in Beijing. The accusation was hindering the implementation of law by using an evil cult. Now she is under illegal surveillance of the County police. Her husband was forced to stop working and watch over her at home.

A female practitioner in Changqing County, Jinan was detained for one month by the police for her group study and practice.

A female practitioner in Jinan went to Beijing to appeal 5 times. She was detained in Dianliu police station of the Lixia district four times. She was beaten, scolded, and force-fed through her throat. She was also fired by her work unit.

Chen Zhaofu, an officer of Lixia district police station in Jinan, slandered Dafa, vilified Teacher, persecuted practitioners using despicable means ever since Falun Gong was banned last year. He also mobilized some individuals to infiltrate practitioners and damage Dafa in order to get himself promoted.

[Shandong Province] Falun Gong practitioners were brutally tortured in Shouguang City, Shandong Province

Liu Hongmei, female, is a Falun Gong practitioner in Huying village, Shouguang City, Shandong Province. She went to Beijing to appeal at the end of June in 2000 and was illegally detained by the village officials for 7 days. They used extremely cruel means to beat her. Several officials pulled straight and pressed her legs and arms and slammed her to the ground. They covered her eyes and took turns whipping her. She was beaten so badly that her skin was torn and her flesh gaped open, bloody. Her miserable situation was really shocking to see. Liu Hongmei was in coma and fever for several days, and her high body temperature would not drop down. The officials feared that this would bring on some social reproach so they sent Ms. Liu to the city hospital for emergency treatment. The hospital didn't give her effective treatment so she was transferred to Weifang City hospital for treatment. Since the flesh on her thighs was so badly damaged they had no option but to perform a large-scale skin transplant operation on her.

During her hospitalization, they blocked the news about her and did not allow non-family members to visit her. In addition, they threatened and terrorized her family over and over again. They told her family not to tell the truth to the outside world and told her family to claim that her wounds were due to a car accident. The government even forced her family to pay a fine of 29,000 Yuan (about $3,600, 60 months wages for an average worker). Ms. Liu was hospitalized for 40 days and now she is still receiving treatments and resting at home. She can't move since being dismissed from the hospital.

It is also known that seven Falun Gong practitioners are detained in Beiluo Village Mental Hospital in Shouguang City, Shandong Province.

Among them are Li Yichang, Li Yiming, Lis younger brother and Ning Xiuying (Li Yichang's wife). Because they went to Beijing to appeal in May 2000, the village officials detained them illegally and the village's police station handcuffed them to a tree. They were not allowed to close their eyes for 5 days and 5 nights. In addition, they were beaten badly with electrical batons and rubber clubs. They were beaten so badly that they were black and purple and swollen all over their bodies. Later on they were sent to Beiluo Village Mental Hospital. It has been more than two months since then. A 60-year-old elder and a 6-year-old young girl in this family were left uncared for.

Female farmer Fu Lianhua in this village was illegally detained by the village government for 9 days and was tortured inhumanly because she went to Beijing to appeal in June 2000. The village head dragged her hair and slammed her to the ground until her head was broken and bleeding and she fainted. Later on, every night, the village head along with a bunch of his hatchet men first turned off the lights in the room and closed the door, then forced Ms. Fu to kneel on the bricks and beat her with electrical batons and rubber sticks until she fainted. Fu Lianhua was at the verge of death after 9 days' torture but they wouldn't stop, and they sent Fu Lianhua into Beiluo village mental hospital up until now. Ms. Fu's husband grieved to the extent of wishing to die when he saw the miserable situation of his wife and he couldn't help going to the village officials to argue with them. He was tricked entering into a small room and beaten badly after the door was closed. He was also forced to pay a fine of 10,000 Yuan. (Ms. Fu's husband does not practice Falun Gong).

Female farmer Sang Xiulians home in Wenjia village was ransacked and fined 30,000 Yuan by the village government because she went to Beijing to appeal in June 2000. She was sent to Beiluo village mental hospital till now after she was illegally detained and badly beaten.

Liu Hairong in Wangwang village, 24, a graduate student. She was detained by the police station of Shouguang City and later sent to Beiluo village mental hospital till now because she went to Beijing with her mother to appeal in July 2000.

In the mental hospital, they are detained along with patients having mental illness. They are tied to the bed and injected with large quantities of medicine that can damage the central nervous system. They have been in a coma for a long period of time, accompanied by vomit and nausea. Their faces are swollen and pale. They are badly beaten for refusing to be injected with medicine. Their family members are not allowed to visit them and they are isolated from the outside world.

Their minds and bodies are still being tortured brutally -- Zhao Xiuai, female, is a Falun Gong practitioner in Dongbu village, Shouguang City, Shandong province. She was brought to the village officials, handcuffed to a tree for one day and one night, and paraded through the streets after the officials found out that she was celebrating Master's birthday with several fellow practitioners at her home in May, 2000. Later on she was sent to the city police station and was detained for 15 days.

After the detention was over, she went to the village officials to appeal. She was surrounded and beaten by dozens of employees of the officials because of this. They first threw her into a sack and subsequently sealed it with iron strings, then beat her with sticks until she couldn't make a sound. Then she was pulled out from the sack and handcuffed to a tree. They poured water into her ears and choked her with smoke. She was half alive and half dead from this torture.

At the end of June, the officials feared that she might go to Beijing to appeal and bring more troubles upon them. They detained her at the city police station without any reason, and later transferred her to the village officials and detained her there for 8 days. She went on a hunger strike and was force-fed with milk through a tube.
