[Central Daily, Sept. 3, 2000] Falun Gong practitioners in Hong Kong and Macao urged the Chinese Government to stop the persecution
(Central News Agency, Hong Kong) About 100 Dafa practitioners from Hong Kong and Macao held a parade yesterday to appeal in front of the Chinese Government Liaison Office in Hong Kong. They indicated that 50 Falun Dafa practitioners had already died in custody since last year. They called on the Chinese Government to stop the persecution towards Dafa practitioners.
At 2 PM, nearly 100 Dafa practitioners from Hong Kong and Macao gathered at the Golden Bell Park in Hong Kong and marched toward the Liaison Office in Wanzi to appeal. They played Falun Dafa music and held appeal banners without saying a word. About 30 policemen were dispatched to clear the way for practitioners and monitor the event.
After arriving at the Liaison Office, the practitioners did the group exercises and presented an open letter addressed to Chinese leaders. This open letter protested the crackdown of Falun Gong and the murder of Dafa practitioners. The practitioners urged the Chinese Government to immediately stop the persecution and allow practitioners to practice cultivation freely, have peaceful dialogues with practitioners and rescind the arrest warrant for the founder of Falun Gong, Mr. Li Hongzhi.
[Central News Agency, New York] On September 6th, over a thousand of Falun Gong practitioners will hold group exercises near the Chinese Mission of the United Nations in Manhattan, New York, to protest the Chinese President's attendance at the UN World Leaders' Summit.

[Beijing, August 23] Many Falun Dafa practitioners were illegally detained and put into labor camps in the Fengtai District, Beijing
Since April of this year, nearly 50 Falun Dafa practitioners in the Fengtai District have been sentenced with one to two years of forced labor and sent to Tuanhe and Tiantanghe labor camps in Daxing County, Beijing. In August, there were six Dafa practitioners sentenced with forced labor. Among them, Gu Junliang, Xiao Shunxin, Tian Hongyun and Lin Shuling were sentenced for practicing in the gymnasium garden (Fufeng Yuan Residential Complex); Liu Ming for going to Tiananmen to display banners and for peacefully appealing for Falun Gong, Mr. Cui for unknown reasons. Gu Junliang and Liu Ming were diagnosed with high blood pressure (180 unit) during their detention, but were still forcibly sent to labor camps. On July 20, police forcibly searched the house of Li Daquan (a former employee of the Fengtai Railway Maintenance Unit) and confiscated the property. After being sent to a detention center, his whereabouts are unknown. Dafa practitioners in Tuanhe and Tiantanghe labor camps cannot receive visitors until they are "transformed" and give up Falun Gong. Some practitioners have been detained for over 4 months, and their relatives are very worried but are still unable to visit.
