[Shandong Province] Shandong Province Continued to Persecute Practitioners
After 7 practitioners from the Shizhong District of Jining City got arrested for appealing in Beijing, not only had each of them been imposed a fine of 3,000 Yuan to 5,000 Yuan, but also had their work units been criticized in a circulated notice. The major officials of their work units were required to submit a letter of self-criticism to the Municipal and District commissions in charge of "Falun Gong" issues. Meanwhile, their work units were each imposed a fine of 10,000 Yuan.
The 7 practitioners were Liang Xianlun (female, 50 years old) from the Trade School of Jining City, Wang Guimin (female, 70 years old) from the Jining Mining Machinery Factory, Chen Baogen (male, 59 years old) from the Coal Metallurgy Company, Liang Qintan (male, 49 years old) from the Agricultural Goods Company, Chen Xialin (female, 23 years old, teacher) from the Dongmen Elementary School of Jining City, Li Fengyun (female, 57 years old, unemployed) and Qiao Xingrong (female, 39 years old, unemployed).

At around 11am of June 26, over 30 practitioners from Xinjiang came to the Tiananmen Square and unfurled a 6-meter-wide banner reading "Falun Dafa". The police ran over and tried to seize the banner. The practitioners protected the banner with their bodies and shouted, "Falun Dafa is good! Falun Dafa is righteous! Falun Dafa is the Fa of the universe!" Half an hour later, the banner was still in the hands of the practitioners. However, they were all forced to get into the police vehicles and taken to the Tiananmen Police Station.
[Chengdu City] Practitioner Cheng Zhan from the Longquanyi District of Chengdu City has been on hunger strike in the detention center for 10 days.
[Chengdu City] Practitioner from Xinjiang Got Beaten Up for Distributing Falun Dafa Materials
On June 19, after the Jiangxi Street Police Station got informed that practitioner Mou Qiang, a youth from Xinjiang, was distributing Falun Dafa materials, they immediately sent out many policemen to catch him. After Mou Qiang got arrested on that day, the police beat up him in order to know where he got the materials and whom he had contacted. The whole police station and the nearby residential buildings could even hear the beatings in the midnight. When Mou Qiang was thrown into the detention room of the police station, his two eyes were black and swollen, blood were still bleeding from his head and many parts of the body. He had bruises all over the body. His mouth was also skewed from the beatings.
Practitioner Mou Qiang did not give in in face of the inhumane mistreatments and displayed strong determination of a genuine practitioner. Now he has already been escorted back to Xinjiang.

[Guangdong Province] Practitioner from Military Medical University Was Sent to Mental Hospital for "Treatment"
Because of refusing to give up Falun Gong, practitioner Lin Guoxiong, from the First Military Medical University in Guangzhou, had been sent twice to the Mental Hospital of Guangxi Army to receive "treatment", during the periods from September 1999 to February 2000 and from this May to now. He suffered inhumane mistreatments there.
In addition, over a dozen practitioners from the Military Medical University had joined the group practice in Tianhe Stadium on June 18. Some of them had been removed from their posts or expelled from the school. Some were still waiting for treatment. According to news resources, the University has decided to expel all the practitioners from school by the end of this year.
Some practitioners from the Fifth Electrical Research Institute of the Information Products Department of Guangzhou are now facing unfair treatments because they joined the group practice in the Tianhe Stadium on June 18 or having gone to Beijing to defend Dafa. Two practitioners in their posts were forced to retire early and would be paid only 380 Yuan (equivalent of US$45) a month for the living expenses. Other practitioners stayed in their posts under one-year "surveillance" and would also be paid only 380 Yuan for the living expenses. All retired practitioners would be paid 380 Yuan a month for the living expenses and all their other benefits were deprived.
