Duowei news reported that Tracey Zhao, an American citizen and a flight attendant of the US Northwest Airline, was released on February 11 and deported from China.
World Daily reported that Tracey Zhao was arrested on the Lunar New Year's Eve (February 4) when she was taking photos of police arresting practitioners on the Tiananmen Square.
After detaining Zhao for one week, Chinese authorities released her on February 11 and put her on a US Northwest flight. Zhao was supposed to arrive at New York in the afternoon of February 12.
China did not inform the US Embassy until Zhao's flight left. After Zhao's arrest, the US Northwest airline had tried to rescue Zhao through the US Embassy in Beijing.
