[Zibo, Shandong Province] The appeal from the labor camp at Wangcun, Zibo City
Gu Ping (pseudo name), a Dafa practitioner of Weifang, went to Beijing to appeal on Oct. 3, 2000. She was detained and fined when traveling to Hebei Province, taken back by her work unit and put under custody. On Oct. 28, Beigong police station of Weicheng District, took her from the work unit to the detention center by force. On Nov. 2, she was sent back to her work unit and put under surveillance after she had been on hunger strike for six days. The next morning the Beigong police station again sent her to the 4th branch of Wangcun labor camp in Zibo city.
The 4th branch of Wangcun labor camp is a new branch that just opened on Nov. 1. Over 20 Dafa practitioners were sent in during the short five days from Nov. 3 to 8. The meals and lodging are in miserable conditions. Some practitioners do not have quilts during the current cold weather. The guards use various methods to torture and persecute the practitioners. After being electrically shocked by electric batons, some practitioners could not speak or eat, some could not hold things with their hands; some could not walk, yet they were still handcuffed and locked up under custody. One practitioner had been handcuffed in the toilet for 7 days and 7 nights. The guards roared, "the torture will continue if you don't write the pledge letter". They are so cruel, without any humanity.
Gu Ping was locked up for three days during her hunger strike of more than 20 days. Later, since she even had difficulty breathing, they sent her home for fear of another death. We appeal to all kind-hearted people in the world to stop the cruel persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, and to enable their safe return to their homes.
[Lanzhou, Gansu Province] The Lanzhou police search and arrest on a large scale the practitioners who distribute flyers
Recently, the police in Lanzhou learned that several hundred thousand Dafa flyers had been distributed in Lanzhou and they started searching and arresting on a large scale. Recently, several dozen practitioners have been arrested. In the process of arresting a female practitioner from Xigu District, the police dispatched about 30 to 40 policemen; several hundred bystanders witnessed the scene. This practitioner was sent to Pingantai labor camp, and was sent back because "health condition not up to the standard".

Jiang Zemin ordered every government department to hold "Transformation Classes" for their employees who practice Falun Gong. The participants not only include those who went out to appeal, but also those who did not appeal and have been practicing at home. The officials of every level were asked to learn from the experience of the Masanjia labor camp of Liaoning Province. The "reformed" ex-practitioners were asked to speak and they were mobilized to persuade others in person. In the beginning the attitude is a bit relaxed, they invite you to tea and meals, but it contained hypnotic drugs. If you still do not write the self-criticizing paper and pledge letter, then the politeness is gone, and every instrument of torture can be used, and severe beating is ahead.
Among the ministries of the central government, during this round the focus was the Ministry of Aerospace and the Ministry of Agriculture. In Beijing, they focused on Chaoyang District. Many Dafa practitioners refused to attend the transformation classes. They said with awe-inspiring righteousness: "If you keep forcing me, I'll ram my head against the wall and let you carry my corpse to the class."
The Ministry of Agriculture had specially assigned a person to Masanjia labor camp to learn transformation experience. This person had returned to the office. Recently, they held a meeting on this matter, and then one practitioner in the ministry was put under custody. They planned to send him to Tuanhe labor camp for transformation, but this practitioner took an opportunity to escape, and avoided the calamity. It's said that the ministry is sending other practitioners to the transformation classes at Tuanhe labor camp.
The 2nd Institute of the Ministry of Aerospace in Haidian District made a list of so-called "key Falun Gong members", and sent them in groups to Tuanhe labor camp for transformation.
[Guangzhou, Guangdong Province] Tianhe police station in Guangzhou made a raid upon practitioners' homes
Recently, Tianhe police station in Guangzhou collaborated with the Wushan police branch to raid the homes of Dafa practitioners. An engineer couple's home was searched, and the computer for drawing graphs, printer, stereo, Dafa books and materials, even the residential certificate (one type of ID card in China) and photos were confiscated. Yet the practitioners miraculously managed to break through the rings of encirclement and were not taken away by the evil. It is said that they safely left the area and continue to spread and verify Dafa. Their two children of 3 and 5 years old have to be taken care of by the nanny and have no parents to rely on. The job at their work unit could not be done either. Another practitioner refused to open the door for the police and refused to cooperate with their persecution. The policemen had to retreat.

Recently, in a city of China, an old woman in her eighties goes to a police station to make charges everyday. The policemen said, "What are you doing here?" She replies, "I am here to file charge against Jiang Zemin." He asks, "What do you charge for?" She replied, "Ten major crimes." The policemen could not answer.
Another old woman in her seventies went to Tiananmen to verify the Fa in early November. She was taken to the police van when she just arrived. She said, "I haven't done anything yet!" The policeman asked, "What do you want to do?" She said, "I want to practice." The policeman then let her off the police van and she started the sitting exercise. She was taken back to the van after she finished the exercise.
