[Clearwisdom.Net, Hong Kong/Macau] Reported by a Falun Gong Practitioner in Hong Kong the Morning of Dec 19, 2000

1. Police detained over 30 Falun Dafa Practitioners from Hong Kong and other regions who came to Macau to petition. The scene was very moving. Hong Kong journalists witnessed and objectively reported this violent act. As of this report (US 6:00AM Central Time), the police have sequentially deported the practitioners.

2. Over 20 Falun Dafa practitioners from Hong Kong were blocked from entering Macau.

3. Falun Dafa practitioners in Macau were all under close surveillance. Police arrested Yiming Lin, a practitioner from Macau, along with two family members, stood fearlessly under threat of brute force, and unfurled their banners in the street. Police raided their dwelling and searched everywhere. They even put their fingers into a tea can in an attempt to uncover any "evidence". Mr. Lin saw them and stopped them after realizing their ulterior motives.

Macau News (reported on December 19, 2000, by an Australian Falun Dafa Practitioner)

I just received a phone call (Beijing time 6:30pm on Dec. 19th) from Ms. Bihuan Pan, an Australian practitioner. She was calling from a Macau police station using her cellular phone. She told me she was with more than 30 practitioners, 8 among them from Australia, all of whom were detained by Macau police. At the time of the call, they were still detained in the police station. Here is how it began: At about 3:30 this afternoon, a few practitioners from Australia and more than 20 from Macau gathered at a park adjacent to Pujing Hotel, chatting and exchanging experiences. Some journalists approached us and naturally we started talk. Shortly after that, some Macau policemen emerged and forced us to go with them. Practitioners from Australia asked, "Which law are we violating by just talking here? We would like to see the Australian Consul. There is no reason to detain us". The police did not listen but simply replied, "You can sue us afterwards if you want", implying that it was not the time to argue.

The reason why the Macau police behaved like their mainland counterparts who are in charge of the crackdown on Falun Dafa was that, at 4 o'clock that very afternoon, Jiang Zemin gave a dinner party at Pujing Hotel. He was afraid of seeing the words "Falun Dafa", nor did he dare to face Falun Gong practitioners who embody Truthfulness, Benevolence and Forbearance in their actions.
