[Beijing] Xinhua News Agency reporter fabricates rumors to deceive the public
On October 10, Xinhua News Agency (the Chinese state media/by translator) published an editorial "Whoever goes against the trend of history will be exterminated" in the People's Daily, in which Sun Weishi, the former assistant of Falun Gong Tiantan assistance center, was referred to. It was said in the article that Sun Weishi was dissatisfied with Falun Gong practitioners who appealed in Tiananmen Square on National Day, and that he said some words attacking the Teacher. Through our investigation it was learned that Sun Weishi didn't express anything as reported in the editorial. In fact, Sun Weishi immediately went to Xinhua New Agency to clarify the truth after he learned about the editorial. As the mouthpiece of the state , Xinhua News Agency fabricated rumors one after another in order to deceive the public and frame Falun Gong, which not only impaired its own reputation, but also undermined the image of China.
In addition, Policemen and neighborhood committee staff in Beijing started a 24-hour lookout over Falun Gong practitioners for fear that they may have some new activities on November 26.
[Changzhou, Jiangsu Province] Records of police in Changzhou who persecute Dafa practitioners
Since July 22 last year, police in Changzhou conducted a series of suppression means to Dafa practitioners, which included searching their houses and confiscating their property, destroying their Dafa books, monitoring their phones, keeping them in custody, forcefully sending them to labor camps or mental hospitals, etc. However, Dafa practitioners still keep going to Beijing to appeal with no fear of death. Since October of this year, more practitioners have stepped forward to clarify the truth of Dafa to people by various means. It is said that since Luo X came to Changzhou in July, the first section of the municipal public security bureau specially organized some people to "learn the experience (of persecuting Dafa practitioners)" from policemen in Shandong province, and substituted the director with a new one named Ding X. The suppression has escalated with some extremely brutal means of torture, which brazenly violates the Constitution, as well as the principle of civil law enforcement. The following is a list of the crimes that the police in Changzhou committed against Dafa practitioners.
- Energy-consuming tortures in the detention center
- Suspended handcuffing and confession extorting by torture
- Inhumanely beating practitioners
- Luring with lies and forcing labor re-education.
Practitioners being kept in Xilin Detention Center, Changzhou are forced to work 10 to 12 hours during the day, and are interrogated for whole nights; they are not allowed to sit or take a nap. One practitioner was tortured this way for 8 days and 8 nights. Some practitioners were tortured like this for 7 days and 7 nights; they were handcuffed in order to extort a confession. Many practitioners, who were detained here because of going to appeal in Beijing or handing out materials about the truth of Dafa suffered from such energy-consuming tortures.
When the police couldn't get any statements out of practitioners, they employed means of torture---handcuffing the practitioners up to something high for a long time, not even letting a senior practitioner of over 70 years old off. What's more, "Kunjinban" (being fixed in a board by several iron chains, unable to move even a little bit), a torture used only for death penalty prisoners, was employed.
There're several demonic police in the local public security bureau. They are Ji Limin, from the Changzhou Office in Beijing and Hong Jianxin, the director of the town police station in Anjiashe, Wujin. Ji Limin frequently beats or kicks Dafa practitioners at will, even beating female practitioners and dragging them by the hair, or knocking their heads to the floors or the walls. Once a female practitioner's head was badly battered and bleeding all over. Ji didn't even stop when his hands were full of her blood, utterly devoid of conscience! It has become routine for them to swear and beat the practitioners. Hong Jianxin, another police officer, is very cruel and merciless. In early October, after over a dozen of Dafa practitioners were brought back from appealing, Wu Jianxin made frenzied reprisals on them. He beat every practitioner with sticks or electric clubs so hard that their miserable shrieks could be heard by the neighborhood throughout the night.
Gao Zhifang, a Dafa practitioner from Yonghong Village, Changzhou, was asked to talk for a while by cadres in the brigade in last December, yet was sent to the labor re-education camp for a year. She didn't even get the chance to change her slippers when she left her home.
Liao, female, 38 years old, was taken away for no reason by police in Lanling when she was shopping on the morning on November 14, 2000. She was then informed at noon that she would be sent to a labor re-education camp for one and a half years just because she is a Falun Gong practitioner and passed some of the Teacher's articles to others and went to appeal in Beijing once.
A director of a local police station said, "No legal procedures are needed for Falun Gong practitioners. You can charge us if you're capable enough. Yet, you won't win any case wherever you go."
[Hebei Province] North China Mining Industry College persecutes good and honest students
North China Mining Industry College is located in Hebei swallow suburb (close to Beijing). On the night of November 20, several good and honest students, out of benevolence of offering salvation to people, came to the teaching staff dormitory on campus, and distributed materials from door to door about the truth of Falun Gong they downloaded from Minghui net. They were so absorbed that they even forgot their own safety. They directly put the materials at the entrance of each door (including that of the Party and administrative leaders of the school). Many people, who found the materials took them with them, read them carefully, and kept the truth firmly in mind. However, some vicious people reported to the security section of the school, and the local Public Security Bureau as well. Several students were arrested.
The security section of North China Mining Industry College convened many people, including many ignorant students, to seek everywhere for those who had distributed the materials. They plundered those materials that were still not taken away by the residents. Those arrested students were first detained in the room of the entrance guard. Later on, since too many people were looking on, they turned off the lights. It is unknown what kind of treatment the students encountered afterwards. We will pay close attention to their condition.
We hereby appeal to all the teachers and students of North China Mining Industry College: Falun Gong practitioners, who have been tortured, are clarifying the truth to you and telling you the truth of the universe at a great cost, so that you won't be deceived by the lies of Jiang Zemin. They are doing all this not for the sake of fame, money or personal interest, but for telling more people the facts of how Dafa practitioners were arrested, beaten, even tortured to death in order to tell the truth. Awaken quickly! Know about the truth with your honest natural character, throw yourselves into the just group of abandoning the bad and raising the good, and condemn the evil deeds of Jiang Zemin and his followers with all measures that you can adopt.
We hope that those few leaders of North China Mining Industry College will not be buried alive with Jiang Zemin intentionally or inadvertently.
[Guangzhou, Guangdong Province] A practitioner in Guangzhou is taken away from home for no reason
In mid-November this year, Yu Shenghui, from Dongshan District of Guangzhou city was taken away while at his home by public security officers, and has still not been released, because Dafa materials were found in the building in which he lived. The public security officers arrested him only out of their suspicion.
[Shanxi Province] Shanxi will send those practitioners who are still not transformed to labor re-education camps or be sentenced to prison terms
All the practitioners who had ever been to Beijing to appeal have had attempts at being transformed in Shanxi Province recently. They were given one month to write a letter of guarantee (to not practicing Falun Gong), otherwise they would be sent to labor re-education camps or be sentenced to prison terms.
