[Shanghai (City)] Stories of Protecting Dafa by Shanghai Practitioners

A female Dafa practitioner (more than 50 years old) is vigorously distributing Falun Gong material and telling the truth to kind-hearted people. She has been practicing Falun Gong for two years, but never stepped out to protect Dafa before. Encouraged by the stories of other practitioners protecting Dafa, she wanted to be a particle validating Dafa from the bottom of her heart. During sleep on the night after she distributed Dafa flyers for the first time, she spit up several pieces of condensed blood. When she woke up, she felt her mind was clearer and body lighter than she had ever experienced before. She realized the power of the Dafa and the great benevolence of the teacher.

A female Falun Gong assistant went to Beijing to protect Dafa twice. She is more than thirty years old and has been practicing Falun Gong for three years. In the summer during her second time to Beijing, she brought two new practitioners with her. They went to Tiananmen Square. When they were ready to practice the exercises, the two new practitioners hesitated. She said, "The teacher told us, cultivation waits for nobody." Then she started doing the exercise. The two new practitioners felt ashamed and also began to practice beside her. Police did not take them away at once. Instead they surrounded them. A lot of tourists in the square were watching and talking, "Falun Gong practitioners. They are so brave and dare to be arrested!" Police took them into a police van after they finished the first set of exercises. The inside of the vehicle was very hot as if in a furnace. They were kept in the vehicle for more than one hour and then a bucket of cold water was poured on them. In a detention center, they were released because there was no room to detain them. After coming back to Shanghai, they continued to validate Dafa in local areas and encouraged other practitioners.

The sister of the assistant is also a firm Dafa practitioner. After she went to Beijing to protect Dafa twice, she was dismissed from public employment. Her husband could not understand her and was very upset with her. She faced all of this with great compassion and forbearance. After her husband calmed down, she told him the truth of Falun Gong.

Another female assistant was recognized by a policeman when she went to Beijing to protect Dafa. The policeman said, "Why, is it you again? Follow me." He took her to a basement and beat her with an electric rod. The policeman shocked her on the chest with the electric rod. She bore the pain for several minutes until she could not bear any more. She told the policeman, "I don't blame you. My endurance is too limited." The policeman suddenly changed and asked her, " Do you want to go home?" She replied, "Of course!" Then she was released. Later when she was shopping, she was arrested by an unknown authority without being given any reason and was sent to a labor camp for two-year labor education.

[Changchun, Liaoning Province] Old Practitioners Validate Dafa in Tiananmen Square

Recently several old practitioners from Changchun city went to Tiananmen Square to validate Dafa. Among them the oldest practitioner was 85 years old. On November 17, 2000, standing in a triangle, an old couple (husband 68 years old and wife 70 years old) and a 75 years old male practitioner unrolled a banner in Tiananmen Square. They were taken to the Police Department. Policemen called them "old grandfather," requested their names and asked why they came. They replied that they came to validate Dafa and refused to give their names because they wanted to take responsibility for themselves and they didn't want to bring any trouble to other people. Police released them and told them not to get lost.

On the morning of November 18, 2000, seventeen Dafa practitioners were arrested when practicing Falun Gong in front of the building of Railroad Worker Culture Palace.

[South China] Giving a Tip Encouraged by Police

In a city of south China, in order to deal with widely distributed Falun Gong material, police wrote a public letter to all residents in the city in mid November. It requested residents to report Falun Gong practitioners to police. Police will pay cash rewards to those who inform against their neighbors, colleagues, even family members and relatives.

[Wujiaqu, Xinjiang Province] Practitioners Arrested for Distributing Dafa Material

On November 15, 2000, in Wujiaqu, Xinjiang Province, two Falun Gong practitioners were arrested when distributing Dafa materials. That night police discovered that the Dafa material came from Bahudi, Urumuqi City. The next afternoon police searched Bahudi and found Dafa flyers, books, audio and video tapes.

Several days ago, more than 30 Falun Gong practitioners who had gone to Beijing to appeal were sent back by military farm. (Military Farm is a semi-military organization. It does farming, manufacturing, and also is armed by the military.)

[Xingjinag Province] Brother of Practitioner Assists Distributing Dafa Materials

A practitioner's brother brought back a copy of a Dafa flyer to her. He said that such material should be known by more people and he would be very happy to drive his car to help practitioners distribute Dafa materials. That night several practitioners started distributing flyers from 11 pm while her brother drove. Eight thousand flyers were put in all the streets nearby. It was 3:00 am the next morning when they finished. Now those practitioners have gone to Beijing to appeal.

Recently Falun Gong flyers were found in many areas in Xinjiang Province. Owning to the suppression, it is very difficult for Falun Gong practitioners to connect to the Internet. However, because of the popularity of computers, many people who don't practice Falun Gong can read Dafa articles on the Internet. When they find information about Falun Gong, they printed out those articles and give them to Dafa practitioners.

[Urumqi County, Xinjiang] County cadre practitioner arrested

Urumuqi County cadre Zhang Kejiang was arrested after he went to Beijing to appeal and was caught in Beijing. Recently, he was sentenced to labor education. His parents, wife and other relatives worry about him. They are appealing to the society for help and attention to this matter.

[Xixia, Shandong Province] Local police station sends practitioner to labor camp without legal procedure

Some days ago, Qu Huahong, a practitioner in Xixia (Shandong Province) was having dinner at home. Suddenly, several policemen from a local station broke into her house and took her away in slippers to the station. She was handcuffed to a basketball pole in the yard at first. Her family was not allowed to visit her for 6 or 7 days. Then the family felt worried and went to station to ask for a definite reply. The police told them that Qu Huahong was already sent to labor camp. The Qu's family didn't understand what crime she had committed and why she was sent to a labor camp.

The police didn't allow them to send her clothes, nor did they provide them any legal paper work or notification of charges against her.

[Yantai, Shandong Province] Police station hires young jobless men to catch practitioners

It was learned recently that residential committees received instructions from the city's party committee and public security bureau to ask the chief residents assigned to be in charge of each building to look for Falun Gong material at the door of each family. If any are found, they had to be turned in. This task was to be backed up by police from sub-stations. Also, police stations had hired young jobless men to patrol streets around the clock. The task of catching Dafa practitioners was associated with the bonus they would earn.

[Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Some news from Shenyang

1. Several Dafa practitioners were arrested recently for reading and passing Dafa materials. Liu Xuewen, male, 35, was the driver of Dadong District Police Station. On November 11^th, he was put under arrest at Yaochang Police Substation because of his reading and passing Falun Gong materials. Now he is detained in Changqing detention center. Some information said he would be sent to Labor Education soon. Chen zhongrui, male, 30, was arrested on November 11^th for reading and distributing Dafa Materials. He was detained in Changqing Detention Center and will be sent to labor education soon.
2. A trend of Shenyang police:. Shenyang police have been increasing the prosecution on Falun gong practitioners gradually. First, it was "loose on the outside, tight on the inside." It seems that not many policemen were patrolling in the street, but if they caught any information on practitioners, they would follow until they caught the practitioner. Second, overtime detention: If anyone was arrested related to Falun Gong, this person could be held indefinitely. The detention could last for a whole year without trial. Even if there were a trial, the trial would be conducted secretly and no family members would be notified. Third, many kinds of torturing methods were applied to practitioners. A practitioner's life is not considered a human life to them. Finally, the police would rather arrest and sentence the wrong persons than set a suspected practitioner free.

[Xinji, Hebei Province] News from Xinji, Heibei province

Because several practitioners went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa, the prosecution in Xinji was intensified. Some practitioners were beaten unconsciousness and some were beaten while hung from a tree. Even those practitioners who didn't go to Beijing were all forced to write a letter of guarantee and to pay a bond.

Especially in the counties Tianguanying, Old Town and Mujing, the physical and mental prosecutions upon the practitioners were inhumane.

Some county officials spoke openly, "We don't care about cheating, defrauding, theft, robbery or prostitution, we only suppress the Falun Gong practitioners." From this we can see that no matter what they claimed to be surrounding the core leadership of Jiang Zemin and Jiang's precepts, "Three Perspectives" education, they still cannot distinguish the good from the evil. It was said that the city leaders were busy creating fabricated evidence to send more practitioners to labor education.

Thus far, eight practitioners have been sentenced to labor education for 2 to 3 years on November 9^th. The oldest among them was 61 years old. Since they were practitioners who were always good people anywhere and any time, people who were acquaintance with them knew that they were good and honest practitioners. When people saw they were sentenced to years of labor education, they felt shocked and upset that the government was punishing good people.

Fu Guiling, female, around 40, sentenced to 3 years of labor education.

Li Zhentao, male, around 40, Fu Guiling's husband, employee of Shangdong Construction Machinery Factory, sentenced to 3 years of labor education. He and his wife went to Beijing to peacefully appeal on October 1. Currently only their 14-year old daughter Li Ping and her over 70-year old grandfather are home.

Liu Yifei, male, 30, sentenced to 3 years of labor education. The police kicked open his door and confiscated Dafa books from his home in September. He had been detained for one month. He currently is detained at Wangcun Detention Center.

Zhao Bin, male, 25, sentenced to 3 years of labor education. He had been detained for one month because of his distributing Dafa materials. Ten days after being released, he was arrested again.

Fan Lei, male, 32, sentenced to 3 years of labor education. He had been detained for one month under the suspicion of distributing Dafa materials.

Wang Lingyun, female, over 50, sentenced to 3 years of labor education on November 9. She had been detained for one month for her peaceful petition in Beijing during National Day season. During her detention it was heard that her internal organs were damaged as a result of beating. She currently is in custody at Wangcun Detention Center.

Due to tight blockade of information by wicked forces in Jinan, the names of many practitioners who were illegally sent to labor camps could not be confirmed. Those practitioners who are on parole to visit doctors are still being held in detention centers. Since October, the evil acts in labor camps have been escalating. Family members are not allowed to visit practitioners, and no supplies can be delivered. All information within labor camps has been completely sealed off. Every moment, Dafa practitioners' lives are in danger under the threat of evil forces in labor camps. We once again strongly appeal to international human rights groups and all kind-hearted people to pay attention, uphold justice, and rescue illegally detained Dafa practitioners as soon as possible.
