X city has a population of over 1 million. And at least 700,000 to 800,000 copies of materials about the true facts of Falun Dafa have already been handed out. At present, more and more practitioners are participating in clarifying the true facts to the public.
[Changchun, Jilin province] More than 70 practitioners are on hunger strike since Oct.12 in Fenjin Prison, Changchun.
In Fenjin Prison, Changchun, the vicious forces tried to force the practitioners to write a "pledge to renounce Falun Dafa". About 70 male practitioners have been on a hunger strike since Oct. 12, and they are in very serious condition.
[Weifang, Shangdong province] Shangdong province instigates policemen in Weifang to beat up Dafa practitioners.
Zhang Haixia (pseudonym), female, 55 years old, is a retired teacher in a primary school. Since July 1999, she has been locked up five times, and held in custody three times. During one period in detention, she had to lie down due to overwork and insufficient food. Director Chen and policeman Ding in the detention house made prisoners drag the practitioner. They said to the prisoners, "Go and drag her out to work. Otherwise, you'll be beaten up." Director Li Jinsheng went over to her cursing and hitting her. Being cuffed and kicked, she fell down to the floor and could no longer get back on her feet. Later, she ran a high fever for eight days and didn't eat anything at all. They were indifferent to this.
After she was released from the detention house, Party secretary Hao of the district and Ge Mei, head of the town, instructed director Nu in her working unit to illegally lock her up in a damp house, with flies, mosquitoes, house lizards, and toads to keep her company. Her health was greatly damaged due to having to sleep on the cement floor for too long. Then her daughter demanded that she be allowed to go see a doctor. Only when the leaders of the Education Commission saw her sallow complexion was sent under escort of the policemen and warders (9 people a day on shifts in turn) to the hospital for an injection. She was then sent back. Once when on her way to appeal in Beijing, she was caught. Party secretary Hao kicked her so furiously that her legs were numb for days. She hasn't been paid out a salary since July of last year. Her husband lost his job three years ago, and her child is unemployed. They live on loans. When she went to her working unit for her salary, they said that, "Your salary has been deducted and a fine has been levied, with almost nothing left." They are now living by selling their furniture. Zhang Haixia is still firmly practicing Dafa.
Wei Sheng (pseudonym), male, 31 years old, was asked for 5,000 RMB Yuan(about $600, more than half a year's salary for a common Chinese worker) as a deposit to guarantee he would not undertake any appealing activities.
For communicating with fellow practitioners, after the Spring Festival, he was flogged for three hours by policemen from the State Security Bureau until there he was barely conscious. Then, Chen, the head of the Public Security Bureau saw this and was afraid that Wei Sheng would die. Chen ordered that he not be beaten any more, and started to search his house and confiscate his property. A new car worth 200,000 RMB Yuan(about $25,000) was taken away. And his family members were forced to hand over 3,300 RMB Yuan($400) as expenses when he was detained in a hotel. They actually squandered away this money extravagantly.
On June 18, he was beaten up from head to toe by Wang Quanfeng in person, the captain of the criminal policemen detachment, (who lives on the 3rd floor, Unit 3, Resident Building of the Public Security Bureau) using a board taken from a drawer. He was then held in custody as a criminal offender. His whole back was still black and bruised until after he was released.
On Oct. 1, 2000, he went to appeal in Beijing and was brought back by the police and then kept in custody. This time, he was almost beaten to death by Wang Quanfeng, Shao Weihong (who lives in the dormitory of the Financial Bureau, Fangzi District). He continued to be very firm, saying nothing except one word, "I don't know." On Oct.15, the policemen in Fangzi District sent him to Changle Labor Camp for three years of labor reeducation.
The direct reason Weifang Dafa practitioners suffer from venomous persecution is a phone call from Shangdong province. The call said, "Give them a good beating as long as they don't die. In case they die, just say they committed suicide." Some people in the party central committee in Shangdong province are very angry because in Weifang many practitioners went to appeal.
[Xiji, Hebei province] The persecution on Falun Gong practitioners in Xijin, Hebei province escalates.
It was recently learned that under high pressure from Jiang Zemin, there is a new round of desperate, large-scale persecution against Dafa practitioners, due to the fact there are comparatively more practitioners in Xiji who went to Beijing in early October. Working units rounded up all those who had once practiced Falun Gong, not allowing them to go back home in order to force every one of them to write a letter of guarantee. Those who do not write the guarantee by November will be detained in the police station or sent to the labor camp. It is also planned that a large number of Dafa practitioners will be sentenced or sent for reeducation through forced labor.
[Wuhan, Hubei Province] The Evil Is Most Afraid of Being Exposed On the early morning of October 4, 2000, the evil action to round up Falun Gong practitioners took place at 1am in Wuhan City. Led by the persons in charge of each residential committee, police knocked open Falun Gong practitioners' doors at midnight and dragged away practitioners by force without listening to any explanation. Neighbors were asleep, and no one knew what was happening at that moment. Fellow practitioners, we do require ourselves to follow the universal characteristics of Zhen-Shan-Ren (Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance), and we shall not fight back when hit, shall not shout back when yelled at. However, at the same time we also need to clarify the truth of Falun Gong and expose the evil to the people in this world! One of the Dafa practitioners actually did so. When police told her to follow them for a trip to settle a couple of things, she refused and said, "Why follow you for a trip? I was cheated by you last time, and locked in an education class for half a year straight. I was punched and kicked, shackled and handcuffed, and treated inhumanly. Will I be fooled again this time? If there really is anything, you can just ask me here at home." The practitioner held strongly to principles on just grounds. Neighbors nearby all woke up and looked out. The stalemate lasted for two hours, and it may be because they felt lacking in justification that they finally left. [Weifang, Shangdong Province] Weifang Dafa Practitioners Liu Huiqin and Jiao Meifeng Are Sentenced to Three Years of Labor Education for Photocopying Dafa Materials Dafa practitioners in Weifang, Shangdong Province Liu Huiqin and Jiao Meifeng have been thrown into prison and endured all kind of tortures for photocopying Dafa materials. Recently both of them have been sentenced to three years of labor education. [Jinzhou, Liaoning Province] The Evil in the Detention Center of Jinzhou, Liaoning Province After a female practitioner Ye Feng (pseudonym) was thrown into Xingcheng Detention Center of Jinzhou City, for studying the Fa and practicing exercises, she was hung on the iron bars of a window with handcuffs for a whole night. Her wrists were handcuffed to the point of becoming purplish blue, and scars were incurred. The next day, she studied the Fa and practiced the exercises again. Police and assailants put four pairs of handcuffs around her neck and arms, and she wasn't allowed to eat, drink, sleep, or relieve herself. Her mouth was filled with towels, and she was forced to sit on the hard cement ground, in a room with open windows, under freezing temperatures. It lasted the whole night, and all the people around shed tears for her. Ye Feng is currently imprisoned in Masanjia Reform School of Liaoning Province. A male practitioner Song Changqi was put in the detention center. After three days of hunger strike, he was punched and kicked by the chief officer of the education team because of his studying the Fa and practicing exercises. He was slapped, and handcuffed on iron pipes to deter others. Another practitioner with last name Zhang was handcuffed to such an extent that he passed out and remained unconscious for an extended period of time. One afternoon, a policeman slapped Song Changqi on his left and right cheeks, punched his chest and kicked his lower abdomen, twisted his arms and pressed him down onto the ground. Police at the scene all had murderous looks on their faces. [Jinzhou, Liaoning Province] Jinzhou Practitioners Li Jing and Song Guolin Are Sentenced to Three-years of Imprisonment for Practicing in Public Practitioners practiced in public in early October 1999. Among them, Li Jing and Song Guolin were arrested. This year they were sentenced to three-years of imprisonment. [Jinzhou, Liaoning Province] Jinzhou Practitioner Tong Lijun Endures All Cruel Tortures Practitioners jointly went to appeal. Among them, Tong Lijun was arrested. He was a worker at the state-run 754th Mine of Nuclear Industry in Xingcheng. He was arrested late this June and detained for three days. He was force to work (scraping the ground even) while on a hunger strike. At that time the temperature reached 40 degrees Celsius. There was no work that afternoon; he was ordered to sit on a plank, and was tied to iron windows. Three days later, he was sent to the detention center, and locked in the same cell with other prisoners under heavy sentence. Tong Lijun insisted upon going on a hunger strike. Warders forbade his cellmates from going to the open air for relief. The head and prisoners in the cell persecuted him. When he refused to recite prison rules upon order, a bunch of prisoners pressed him down, and rammed his waist with their elbows. Tong Lijun went on a hunger strike. The cell head's demonic nature came into full display; he ordered Tong to eat over a dozen of pickled vegetable chunks without any water. Tong could not bear the thirst. He was then forced to drink five basins of cold water, and was force-fed a basin of soapsuds to induce diarrhea. When there was no diarrhea, the prisoners induced him to to pass a lot of water by stimulating his anus toothbrushes. This was done back and forth two or three times. "Pulling the door bell" (a torture he suffered ): The torturers threaded needles, then pulled up Tong's flesh on his back and pierced the needles with thread through his skin. They hung pickled vegetable chunks on both ends of the threads and took turns to pull the threads for a whole night. The outside of his upper leg was pierced with rusty nails that had been pulled off from the windows. The holes in his leg were as deep as 10 centimeters. The scars from the two holes are still there today. The front of his lower leg was hit with chunks of wood taken from the windows, causing a row of swellings on his leg. To torture him more, a chunk of wood was then used to press even the swellings. The tip of his penis (where he urinates) was pierced with needles and then poured over with icy cold water while he was beaten. Needles were forced under his fingernails. Chunks of wood were smashed against his toenails.
[Daqing] Instances of Evil People Receiving Retributions in Daqing
1. Yuan Begun, the Secretary of Party Committee of the Electric Pump Corporation, was the chief person in persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners at the corporation. He not only intentionally went over "Shaun Falun" and then wrote criticizing articles to submit to higher authorities, but also read these articles at the meeting of the corporation personnel. He set up "transformation classes" for Dafa practitioners and forced them to write "a guarantee" of "giving up their Falun Gong practice," disclose and curse other people, etc. After all this, they had to submit 5,000 RMB Yuan(600 USD, more than one year's salary of a common worker) before they were allowed to return home. Yuan also forced relatives of Dafa practitioners to beat up the practitioners.
On September 30, 2000, Yuan once again came to a practitioner's home ordering the practitioner to write a "guaranty", threatening that otherwise he would not return the 5,000 RMB Yuan. In addition, he would stop paying the practitioner's salary and disallow the practitioner to seek other jobs, thus cut off the practitioner's financial resources. He phoned the practitioner six times per day to monitor the practitioner.
There will always be retribution for every evil deed. On the afternoon of October 17, when Yuan Bingjun was driving a car crossing a railway track, the engine stalled. There were two people in the car; they got out of the car to push it but could not get it moving. At that time, a train was approaching and they went out of the way to avoid the train. The train hit the car and turned the car 180 degrees. The car then hit Yuan Bingjun and threw him toward the train before he finally fell to the ground. Yuan's body was crushed and he died on the spot.
2. Police Li at Babaixiang Police Station in Daqing was extremely hostile to Falun Dafa and practitioners. Once, after he frenziedly tore pictures of Teacher Li and "Zhuan Falun", a stone hit him in his right eye as he was walking downstairs and he was immediately blinded in that eye.
3. Superintendent Mo of Daqing detention center sabotaged Dafa severely. He frequently abused Dafa practitioners physically and verbally. He even said defiantly: "You can prosecute me to whoever you want and I'm not afraid." Before long, he was also detained and lost his job because a criminal offender at the detention center escaped successfully. He has been unemployed up until now because no one has wanted to hire him.
When Mo was persecuting Dafa practitioners so wildly, some practitioners compassionately told him in tears, "You should treat Dafa practitioners kindly because this is also setting your place in the future universe." He shook his head derisively. How pitiful and despicable he was! He never thought about his own future.
4. Superintendent Jiang Liandi of Lindian Detention Center of Daqing persecuted Dafa practitioners very heinously and his list of crimes is quite long. Once he persecuted nine Dafa practitioners ferociously by putting them in handcuffs and shackles for as long as 50 days and forcing them to walk outdoors continuously, everyday. He beat the practitioners' faces to the point of deformation and their bodies until they become red all over. One day, after he kicked Dafa practitioner Liu Liping (female), he was injured for over one month while Liu didn't feel a thing. This caused quite a sensation at the detention center.
