[Chongqing City] "Specific Month to Crackdown on Falun Gong" Scheduled in Chongqing City, Sichuan Province. It has been revealed by insiders in Chongqing city that the political and administrative departments in Chongqing city have been scheming a new round of persecution on Falun Gong under Jiang Zemin's orders to "intensify the strength of the crackdown." So far, this plan has been drafted into a document and sent to the cadres at the section chief level. It's known that the security department in Chongqing city has set Oct. 10--Nov. 10 as the "specific month to crackdown Falun Gong." Part of their plans have focused on the following: 1. Utilize spies to sabotage practitioners' truth-revealing activities such as distributing flyers and hanging banners; 2. 'Transform' every practitioner, constrain their freedom, and eventually send them to labor camps; 3. Implicate others. For those practitioners leaving home, their work units and sub-district offices are ordered to capture and bring them back for "re-education." Even for those who have been fired because of practicing Falun Gong, their work places are still responsible for capturing and bringing them back. For those who continue to practice without writing pledge letters, their family members are implicated, those still working will be dismissed, and the retired will not get their pensions. This is to execute the "spirit" of "exhausting practitioners financially." The number of police and plainclothes police has recently increased noticeably at all important spots. Several districts have passed the "implication" policy on to practitioners and their families. Some regions have even made such ridiculous rules such as capturing and bringing back at least 20 percent of practitioners who leave home. The evil forces are in action again, and we hope more kind-hearted people will step forward to reveal their schemes and stop their crimes. [Shenyang City] Practitioners in Shenyang City Actively Step Forward to Validate Dafa. Currently, a majority of practitioners in all the districts and counties of Shenyang city, Liaoning province, have been able step forward to validate Dafa through various means, such as dropping materials into mail boxes, posting, mailing, hanging banners, distributing Dafa materials, etc. Most of them are safely back home, but a few were arrested and sent directly to Longshan labor camp in Shenyang city. [Beijing] Nine Practitioners Just Sentenced by the Public Security Bureau Nine practitioners have just recently been sentenced to prison terms by the Public Security Bureau. They are believed to be the "organizers" of the peaceful appeal during this Spring Festival [Chinese New Year]. Two of them had just graduated from Northeast University; they are Li Jie from Beijing and Yan Haizhi from Shenyang city, Liaoning province. It's said that they were tortured until they were only skin and bone during the detention in Beijing, but none of them have been converted or gave in. Li Jie's mother was also sentenced to one year in labor camp because she went to clarify the truth of Dafa in Beijing on April 25. Li Jie's retired father has now been left at home, leading a hard life. Mainland practitioners please be cautious: don't use the free servers from China to send and receive Dafa information. The email addresses are very easily tracked, and then your locations can be identified through your IP addresses. It's better and safer to use overseas servers and free emails. [Jiangmen City] A deputy of People's Congress was sentenced to two years in labor camp just because he practices Falun Gong Chen Xiaoliu, male, 35 years old, director of the chief engineer's office of Jiangmen Plan Bureau in Guangdong province, Master's degree, Communist Party member, deputy of the People's Congress in Jiangmen. In August, while Chen Xiaoliu and his wife Guo Qunhui were distributing materials about Falun Gong, they were caught by a plainclothes policeman disguised as a pedicab driver. Chen works hard and responsibly, and conducts himself honestly. He gained great respect from his supervisors and colleagues. Because of this, his work unit wanted to bail him out, but the security officers asked him to write a pledge letter, which Chen resolutely refused to do. He was, therefore, sentenced to two years in labor camp located in Sanshui city, Guangdong province. Chen has a five year-old daughter. Chen's wife was a housewife and was also sentenced to two years' labor re-education, but was allowed to stay outside of the prison. Below are the situations of other Falun Gong practitioners who were sent to labor camps in Jiangmen city, Guangdong province: Li Aiqun (female, about 50 years old) and Wu Kai (male, about 38) were sentenced to two years for appealing in Beijing; Jiang Xiaoming (male, 28), Li Jinghui (male, 25) and Yu Ruilian (female, about 48) were sentenced to one year's labor camp because of their appeal in Beijing; Gong Shuzhen (male, 30 years) and Yan Jing (female, 21 years) were sent to labor camp for one year. [Ha'erbin City] Du Weihua, a Postdoctoral Researcher at Harbin Engineering University, was detained. Du Weihua, a postdoctoral researcher at Harbin Engineering University, went to Tiananmen Square to tell the truth to the public on October 1. He was arrested and has been detained in Harbin since then. Du Weihua did postdoctoral research in Germany last year. [China] Be Cautious about the Traps of Secret Agents Nine practitioners from the northern mountains of Sichuan Province went to Beijing to validate Dafa on October 10. They were immediately recognized by plainclothes police when they arrived at Beijing on October 12. However, the plainclothes policeman didn't arrest them. Instead, he told them that he was also a practitioner and planned to go to Tiananmen Square the next morning to pull the national flag down during the flag-raising ceremony, "an act which would make Falun Gong known to the world." Although they had just arrived from an isolated mountain area, those nine practitioners immediately knew that this person was a bad guy. They thought: "The flag is a symbol of the nation. How can we pull the flag down? Isn't this a trap to undermine Dafa? After such a long journey to Beijing, we came here not to make trouble or undermine anything. Out of our trust in the government, we came here only to speak out our mind: 'Falun Dafa is Good!'" Thus, this trap did not succeed. In an environment completely infested with secret agents, these Dafa practitioners were later deceived by another secret agent into going to a reception center and were arrested. Later, six other practitioners from the same county were arrested on Tiananmen Square. On October 17, fifteen of these practitioners were sent back to their local police station.
