(Minghui.org) Ms. Xie Jian of Luoyang City, Henan Province, is serving yet another term in the Henan Province Women’s Prison in Xinxiang City, Minghui.org learned recently.
Ms. Xie was arrested in mid-March 2025 after being reported for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. The arresting officers from the Xigong District Police Department took her to the Luoyang City Detention Center.
The Xigong District Procuratorate indicted Ms. Xie some time later, and the Xigong District Court sentenced her to four and a half years in mid-July 2025. She was subsequently admitted to prison. Other details remain unknown.
This is the second time that Ms. Xie has been held in the same Henan Province Women’s Prison for her faith in Falun Gong. She was previously arrested on May 8, 2015, for distributing Falun Gong informational materials in Mengjin County, which is under the administration of Luoyang City. The Mengjin County Court sentenced her to five years in December 2015. The other practitioners arrested with her were also convicted and sentenced: Ms. Wu Gaimei and Ms. Liu Lianqin each to 4.5 years in prison, Ms. Shi Yaqiong to four years, and Ms. Sun Xuezhen to three years.
All of them served time in the Henan Province Women’s Prison, which is the designated prison for all female practitioners in the province who are sentenced for their faith. Practitioners are subjected to forced labor and various forms of abuse, including beatings, electric shocks, straitjacketing, sitting on a small stool or standing facing a wall for long hours, solitary confinement, being handcuffed and/or shackled in painful positions, intensive physical training, sleep deprivation, and involuntary administration of unknown drugs.
Many practitioners are put in solitary confinement at one point or another during their imprisonment. The small cell has no windows but it is cold in the winter. There is only a cement bed.
The guards handcuff practitioners to the metal door of the solitary confinement cell for long periods of time, sometimes with their mouths stuffed with rags or masks. Others are gagged and restrained in a chair. When Ms. Xie was held there 10 years ago, the practitioners’ screams could be heard all over the building. The guards also starved the practitioners, many of whom were reduced to just skin and bones.
Ms. Xie remained firm in her faith despite the brutal torture. Her parents missed her so much that they fell ill and died, one right after the other. She was finally released in 2020, only to face constant harassment from the police and community workers.
