(Minghui.org) A 48-year-old woman in Dalian City, Liaoning Province was sentenced to three years and two months in mid-December 2025, for her faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999.

Ms. Wang Hongyu, born in May 1977, was arrested on April 3, 2025, after being reported for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. The Jiangxi Police Station officers also raided her home. It is unclear when she was indicted or tried. Her current detention location remains unknown.

Prior to her latest persecution, Ms. Wang was previously arrested on June 28, 2016, together with eight other Falun Gong practitioners. All nine of them were sentenced by the Lyushunkou District Court on December 22, 2017. Ms. Wang received three and a half years. The prison sentences of the other practitioners were: Mr. Liu Renqiu (10 years), Ms. Sheng Jie (7.5 years), Ms. Gu Shuchun (2 years), Ms. Jin Shuyue (1.5 years), Ms. Wang Jinrong (16 months), Mr. Yu Yongfu (15 months), Ms. Wang Huixuan and her husband Mr. Liu Daixue (both 3 years with 3 years probation).
