Additional Persecution News from China – July 20, 2025 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 22 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Cao Baohua Sentenced to Three Years and Six Months in Prison

Ms. Cao Baohua was arrested in May 2024. She was sentenced to three years and six months and admitted to the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison on March 20, 2025.

2. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wang Ping Facing Trial

Ms. Wang Ping was arrested near the Chengdu City Zoo on May 10, 2025. She was scheduled to appear in the Chenghua District Court in Chengdu on July 25, 2025.

3. [Xinglong County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Shuying Detained

Ms. Zhang Shuying was reported by a student for talking to people about Falun Gong in Majiagou Village on the afternoon of July 18, 2025. She was arrested and taken to the Anziling Township Police Station. Her home was ransacked at 7 p.m. The police confiscated one Falun Gong book, four Minghui Weekly magazines and two media players. She is currently detained in the Xinglong County Lockup.

4. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Zhixin Arrested

Ms. Wang Zhixin from Qianxi County was arrested in the Caofeidian District of Tangshan City at noon on July 16, 2025.

5. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Ma Wenguang Arrested

Mr. Ma Wenguang was arrested on March 21, 2025, on his way to work and taken to Hongbusi Police Station. He refused to cooperate in the interrogation and was transferred to the Dongcheng Police Station in Linqu County at 5 p.m. He was released around 9 p.m. The police changed a setting on his cell phone so that he could only receive calls and not make any. He was forced to live away from home to avoid further persecution.

6. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Li Chunlan Arrested

Ms. Li Chunlan from the Meijiang District was harassed at home by officers from the Chengxi Police Station, Meijiang District Domestic Security Division, and Chengxi Community Office on the morning of July 16, 2025.

The officers searched Ms. Li’s home and confiscated a laptop, two calendars, and two magazines. She was taken to the Meijiang District Police Department for interrogation. She refused to sign the case document but was released at 6:30 p.m.

7. [Yanshou County, Heilongjiang Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested

Seven practitioners were reading a Falun Gong book together in Ms. Sun’s home on July 10, 2025, when the police broke in. The police arrested them and confiscated their Falun Gong books.

8. [Zhongxiang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Min Ruyi Detained

Ms. Min Ruyi was followed and arrested by Huangzhuang Police Station officers on the morning of July 7, 2025, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked. She is detained in the Jingmen City Lockup.

9. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Sun Wenjun Forced to Live Away from Home

Officer Qin Xin from the Xi’an Bloulevard Police Station in the Lyuyuan District harassed Ms. Sun Wenjun regularly over the past few years. Even after she moved out of his district, he started to harass her again in July 2025. She has been forced to live away from home to avoid further persecution.

10. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Luo Wenbin in Serious Condition While Serving a Four-Year Term

Mr. Luo Wenbin is being held in the 8th division of Nanchang Prison to serve a four-year term. Because he refused to renounce Falun Gong, he was put in solitary confinement. He has dangerously high blood pressure, is very weak, and has to wear a winter jacket in the summer to keep warm.

11. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Tian Chunxiang and Ms. Zhao Guilin Detained

Ms. Tian Chunxiang and Ms. Zhao Guilin were reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong on Wuci Road in the Wanquan District on July 16, 2025. Li Kegong and other officers from the Wanquan District Police Department arrested them around 3 p.m. and took them to the Zhangjiakou City Lockup that evening.

12. [Bayan County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wan Guojun Arrested

Mr. Wan Guojun was arrested around July 10, 2025. His home was ransacked.

13. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Fang Caixia and Her Family Threatened

Ms. Fang Caixia was arrested by Qingni Police Station officers on June 23, 2025, and has been detained ever since. Her eldest son, Mr. Wu Qi, went to the police station on July 16, 2025, demanding a detention notice and list of confiscated items. The police detained him for several hours, claiming that he “colluded with foreign anti-China forces.” They also searched his phone and the documents he had with him. They threatened to detain him if he reported the incident to Minghui.org.

Mr. Wu and his lawyer went to the Domestic Security Division on July 17, 2025, to seek justice for Ms. Fang. Officer Cao Xunbing threatened to detain the lawyer and find someone to “straighten Mr. Wu out.” He shouted at Mr. Wu and jabbed him with a finger.

When the lawyer visited Ms. Fang in the afternoon, she said Cao verbally abused her several times and almost hit her. Cao also threatened to sentence her to several years and said it was useless for her to hire a lawyer.

14. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xia Ning Appeals a Three-Year Wrongful Sentence

Ms. Xia Ning, 71, was sentenced to three years in prison by the Lianshan District Court. She has appealed with the Huludao City Intermediate Court.
