(Minghui.org) The Minghui.org website learned recently that a 48-year-old woman in Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province stood trial on June 9, 2025, for her faith in Falun Gong.
Ms. Zhou Lidong, born in April 1977, is an employee of the Jixi City Thermoelectric Company. She used to suffer from chronic low-grade fever, allegies, and infertility. After she took up Falun Gong, she regained her health and gave birth to a healthy baby in 2007. Once a capricious person, she also became more considerate, and her marriage was a happy one.
Ms. Zhou’s simple pursuit of staying healthy through practicing Falun Gong landed her in custody. Her prison sentence stemmed from her arrest on February 11, 2025. About 20 officers from the Jiguan District Domestic Security Division and the Nanshan Police Station broke into her home at around 10 a.m. that day and spent hours searching every corner of the home. They confiscated her computer, cell phone, printer, and a large number of other valuables. She and her two guests, both Falun Gong practitioners, were arrested and taken to an unknown detention facility.
The Jidong County Procuratorate indicted Ms. Zhou, and she appeared in the Jidong County Court on June 9, 2025. Other details of her prosecution remain to be investigated. It is unclear whether her two guests were also prosecuted.
