(Minghui.org) An 81-year-old woman in Tianjin was admitted to Division Six of the Tianjin Women’s Prison on July 2, 2025, to serve a four-year term given in 2023.

The prison sentence of Ms. Han Yuxia, born in December 1943, stemmed from her arrest on October 29, 2019, after being reported for talking to people about the Chinese Communist Party’s ongoing persecution of her faith, Falun Gong. She was released on bail on December 1 of that year, only to be arrested again on October 15, 2022.

Ms. Han was later released on bail, but was taken to the Hexi District Court on December 5, 2022. Only then did she realize that she was taken there for a hearing. She was released afterwards but was again taken to the court on April 26, 2023, and sentenced to four years in prison that day.

Because she failed the required physical examination, Ms. Han has been on parole for the past two years. The police took her for another physical examination in April 2025 and put her in the Hexi District Detention Center on June 26. They transferred her to the Tianjin Women’s Prison on July 2.

Ms. Han, her husband Mr. Guo Deyou, and their daughter Ms. Guo Chengru, a businesswoman, all took up Falun Gong in 1997. Because they refused to renounce Falun Gong in the face of the persecution, the family of three was repeatedly targeted. The total time they have been incarcerated totals 31.5 years, with Ms. Han previously jailed for seven years. See the related reports for the family’s sufferings.
