(Minghui.org) A native of Gansu Province has been sentenced to six years by a court in Beijing for his faith in Falun Gong, Minghui.org recently learned.
Mr. Gao Lianhou, 52, was working in Daxing District, Beijing, at the time of his arrest in September 2023, after being reported for talking to people about Falun Gong. The arresting officers from the Daxing Police Station barred his family from visiting him.
It was only confirmed by Minghui.org in late May 2025 that Mr. Gao has been sentenced to six years. It’s unclear where he is currently detained or what persecution he might have endured in the past 20 months.
This isn’t the first time that Mr. Gao has been targeted for raising awareness about the persecution. While living in Tangshan City, Hebei Province, he was arrested twice and served a prison sentence of three years and four months.
The first arrest took place on January 16, 2016, after Mr. Gao was reported for talking to people about Falun Gong. The arresting officers from Nanliutun Police Station in Tangshan City held him at the Tangshan Lockup for an unknown amount of time.
Mr. Gao was arrested again on April 7, 2017, together with Ms. Li Xiuzhi, 71, and Ms. He Zhirong, for going to Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, to distribute informational materials about Falun Gong. Mr. Gao was first held at the Changli County Lockup in Qinhuangdao City and then transferred to the Changli County Detention Center. All three of them were sentenced to prison by the Changli County Court in February 2018, with Mr. Gao given three years and four months, and Ms. Li and Ms. He both receiving three years. Mr. Gao was admitted to the Jidong Prison on April 4, 2018.
